Beautiful pic, Bren, and certainly NOT too big! So glad you had a wonderful time. Wish it could have been longer. -
the obsession over TV ratings is interesting, to say the least. I can only speak for myself, but I do not stay glued to MSNBC or any other channel for that matter. I can only take so much news/opinion, even if I agree with it 100%. In my opinion, Progressives simply do not watch cable TV news or listen talk radio in the same way that the other side does. I mean, who can stand it, day in and day out? Politics, fear, loathing, hate, etc., gets damn boring, in a hurry!
-
and one last thing before I get back to work...the Teahadists who have driven us to the brink of disaster are despicable human beings. This has been an utterly unnecessary crisis. There is a special place in hell for someone who puts his/her own personal gain ahead of the country they were elected to help lead.
-
Bren...you all look so happy. Have a good time! -
Someone has to tell those Tea Party Emperors that they have no clothes. Oh, the dangers of living in an echo chamber.
In other news, I took my green, timid, nervous horse out for an hour-long trail ride into uncharted territory. Other than 8 sideways running steps (horse-killing birds perched on a piece of farm equipment) and a sudden, rocket-like launch into the air (I got me some whiplash this morning), he was a wonderful boy. We had a few nice canters and generally had a great time. My horse = chicken soup for the soul. I am so grateful for him.
Love, sorts, and mojo for all with suffering fur babies. They are the children of our hearts.
Love you all, awesome people!

"There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man" Winston Churchill.
One of my favourite mugs has this written on it. -
Donna - loved your post, even without "breaks" it needs to be posted ALL OVER THE WEB.
Loving the polls showing teahadists at 21%, and that's still high! Definitely will go lower. Chris Van Hollen youtube nearing the 3 million mark.
Senate does have a deal. Boehner wouldn't be dumb enuf to enforce the "hassert" rule - just wouldn't. -
Donna, at the tip top of your page here ( if your using what I am ) windows 7 etc, there should be a line hopefully that says in this order:
file edit view favorites TOOLS help.
Right down below that should be some little pictures of items, mine starts with a house. After those come more words:
Page Safety TOOLS...................the second group TOOLS is the one you would open. That has the drop-down with the boxes and the word Compatibility.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Jackie - I finally found it!
Testing breaks... -
Glad that Reid and McConnell have something worked out. Boehner's turn now. I read/heard where Ted Cruz will not interfere now. I certainly hope not, but still wonder about the "secret meeting" and if this is just a step that must be let go in order for something pre-planned by these fools.
Hopefully, the country will be able to get back to business but I hope most of the county keeps watching because my level of any kind of trust for the Repugs and very much the T-Party portion is far below zero right now.
Just read an interesting piece a minute ago. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/10/16/greg-collett-opposes-medicaid/. Real great guy here....he says in his campaign website that he feels the sole purpose of government should be to secure our God-given rights. Don't look now buddy, but your on the wrong planet obviously.
He goes on in the article later to explain why he goes ahead, even though so opposed to it, and takes the government provided Medicaid. He makes about as much sense as lighting yourself on fire everyday.
He would make a great T-Party hypocrite.

Bren - beautiful picture.
E- So glad Samson was a good boy. We all know he's a champion.
Keeping fingers crossed that the crisis is ending. Also hoping that this sees the end of the Tea Party. -
-

Sorry about the blue line...missed a step and decided to start over. -
-
E - so happy for you to got to RIDE....wonderful to hear..
still have lots of sorts, mojo, for those sadly having to be with sick fur babies...so hard to see them suffering. Healing wishes.
Well, looks like the teahadists may be looking downhill, some of their "talking points" are funny, tho.
time for all to start getting ready for the Great Pumpkin, more likely to show if we BELIEVE ;-))) As in tinker bell...
good thoughts to all -

get out your tissues... -
oh man. That was so powerful!
OT do Any of you decorate for Hallowe'en? I mean silly, pretty, scary, over the top or whimsical? Do you get many trick or treaters? -
Sunny and Chicky that was awesome!
I decorated for Halloween and Thanksgiving, kind of a combo, for the first time in many years. Don't really have any scary stuff, just some owls, cute witches, cornucopia, door wreath, plants and lots of pumpkins. -
Thanks Sunny and Chicky.
I don't decorate. -
plants? Yorkie what zone are you in. We haven't had a hard frost yet, but I can't imagine even my hardy mums will survive to Hallowe'en. -
Kay, it's an inside plant. I don't put anything outside this time of year either. -
damn cancer. In 1971 I lost my sister at 9 to Neuroblastoma. It hits home -
thanks Yorkiemom. I have a front porch full of annuals in pots, a side porch with annuals and azaleas which over winter in side and a back porch full of shade loving tropicals that I had better bring in soon. Or they will turn to mush. -
-
-
Kay, I know what you mean! -
'Blue' love it.
I don't decorate....just me and Dh here and only three houses on the lane and one of them empty and up for sale right now. They are asking way too much. I sold homes a few years back --- some serious price dropping needs to take place.
Anyway, we don't really decorate for much of anything here, but we love to go out and walk around and enjoy what others have done. We do love holidays, but to me, everyday just about is a holiday for me.
It does look like it is all over but the shouting. Ted Cruz...Grand Puma of the Kamikaze party talking about how good it all was............really. You are a huge hot potato to a whole lot of people, your party, the second half of your party, the American people, business people, and even Rush Limbaugh had un-kind things to say. Wake up and smell the cow manure your standing in sir Ted.
Jackie -
Cruz still celebrates because the crazy people that support him and his ilk are throwing money in the TP coffers. Hatred and ignorance is good for the budget apparently. -
