C for C......love the idea of the hymn you sing......our family just does prayers -- all denominations as we gather sometimes in a circle for it going through a couple of rooms. People sitting at the big table and sometimes....one or two others set up.

Alexandria, I heard from somebody in Pennsylvania that he gave up trying to create an account online and called the phone number 1-800-318-2596 and was able to get it done quickly, without much of a wait. For others reading, you should have your 2012 tax filing handy before calling. There have been complaints of some setting up accounts and then not being able to log in with the account who have also handled the problem by calling the phone number.

GG, it found me to be a "tender hearted progressive." Then said this profile is associated with an animal rights activist. 100% correct!

C for C...love the hymn idea.

We have our second turkey in the oven for our next group of guests due here later this afternoon. AND we also indulge in the American TG as we are usually in Florida then. I suggest that our American sisters do the same. You can never have too much turkey or pumpkin pie!

Sending warm thoughts too all who are feeling under the weather...including fur babies.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Was never that crazy about the turkey. The oyster dressing, now, that's different - or the sweet potato casserole or apple salad. But agree - can never have too much pumpkin pie - or pumpkin anything....

I'm not fond of turkey either so we never have that particular bird. Much prefer goose or duck! As for pumpkin pie -- in our family, we always served it with a drizzle of maple syrup. You can NEVER have too much of a good thing!

Happy thanksgiving to all the Canadians. Hope you are having a great day. Cfc love the hymn idea. We don't have anything like it here because of course harvest is in about April around Easter.

Watching with interest this weeks antics in Washington.

Just got back from the vet, and the news is not good. First, the easy stuff. Chloe has an ear infection, which I will treat for 2 weeks. But the vet feels that she does have a brain tumor. This is because the Horner's Syndrome has not resolved; she is losing a lot of weight; and she still displays weird cognitive issues. After the ear infection has cleared up, and assuming she still shows signs of Horner's Syndrome, the vet wants to start her on steroids. The vet said that tumors in the brain don't usually spread, but cause problems as they grow and push on the brain. Steroids can often reduce the growth. I'm also going to start giving her a lot of yummy foods to try and fatten her up.

So that's where things stand. Ugh. :-(

I'm sorry to hear that Yorkie. If I understand what your saying though it sounds like you can make her QOL much better by getting rid of her infection and decreasing the tumor. It is not the best answer ever, but a somewhat less imminent life upset then seemed the case yesterday.

Do wish for both of you that it could have been something much more fixable for much longer period.

Not going to continue right now as my computer is very wonky again and I'm not getting anywhere with a fix for it.

who is thinking of all of you and likely this will run into one big paragraph like it did last time.

Thanks Jackie. Yes, the vet said some dogs can live a long time with a brain tumor that is treated with steroids. She will be 16 next month, so I'm not sure about that, but I will take whatever time I am given. After being on this board and having cancer myself, this is very, very real and familiar territory.

Blue, love the graphics. After a long afternoon of work, or the mods, my tool-bar has come home from vacation. I did just install a bunch of new updates to my system. Seems like something helped. While waiting for them all to go in......watched parts of a couple of segments of NBC. Somewhat depressing. Either that or the lunatic fringe is getting to me a bit.

Really glad that certain groups ( for now ) are well in the minority. Got to hand it to them, a bit anyhow. Staring into the eyes of a crowd or t.v. camera and spouting some of that insane material with total belief. It is mind boggling.

Anyway still was sounding mighty iffy that anything much would happen today. Nice if it could happen but some are pretty desperate I think for a face-saving.

Yorkie - I'm sorry you got that news. I've certainly learned what I am prepared to do to extend my feline's life. There are no limits apparently. Is the ear infection giving her the worst of the symptoms? Hopefully getting that under control will help a lot. xxo

My baby is home!!! Ofcourse, I'm still worried and she's only slept and not eaten since being back. The Vet just called to check up on her (this is one incredible Vet hospital). They told me to bring her back if she hadn't eaten by tomorrow. Ms Boo was acting so good this morning, including eating more. She's probably just tuckered out.

    Now on to taxes. :(

Kam, your baby is so much younger than mine. She needs lots more time, and it looks like she's getting it, YAY! Don't know how Chloe's ear infection is related to her overall condition, but it might have been causing some of the whining and barking lately. My vet is a lot like yours. She calls me all the time to check on Chloe.

Something from the Daily Kos and Robert Reich.....good man http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/10/12/1246782/-Robert-Reich-Giving-Republican-Bullies-a-Bloody-Nose-Isn-t-Enough.

Kam, glad Miss Boo is home. She is probably de-stressing a lot by being in the place where she is most comfortable. I do hope she can "feast" a little later. The best Vets will check up on their patients, especially so when they are not really over their issues. It is good that you have a green light to bring her back if need be, but I'm hoping that ridding herself of stress may get her nice and hungry.

More hugs for Boo and Cloe tonight......hope they each have a good night and a great tomorrow.
