ameron, sorry they have you waiting again. I wish you the best outcomes! I hope you are given good words very soon.
Lee7, good luck on your AI switch! Hope it is a successful change with no SE!!
Dang, Bucs! They just can't get a win this year!!! bnotes, galsal & Special K, hope you 3 had fun at the game anyway. Speaking of football, how tragic and so sad about Adrian Peterson's son.
Spookiesmom, are you surviving all the birthdays? Enjoy the cake and ice cream!
Special K, Happy belated Birthday! Hope it was a great day for you!
Galsal, Details...oh do tell, how was the speed dating? I thought about going to one of the events pre-bc, but I chickened out. I totally get the whole "out of your comfort zone". I do hope it is/was lots of FUN! I'd love to hear the scoop...it might motivate me to go try it. -
OMG...talk about FAB seats. Second row in lower section and six seats from the Bucs tunnel!!!
Son and I. The Pirate had spoken with him earlier about the Tough Mudder tee shirt Son's wearing. Turns out they were both there running it that year. This was at the Tail Gate Party. -
Btw, so far it seems the Sulfasalazine is helping the Rheumatoid and hand swelling. Got sun burned rather much from today's event although could have been oodles worse. -
galsal, sorry about the sunburn, at least it wasn't so blasted hot and humid!
Just DDs bday to go, then Spookie. I may go down to Fluffy Puppies and get some special cookies for them.
For those that are interested-----, this coming Sat will be a fund raiser for Heidies Legacy at Highlander Park in Dunedin. It's a dog rescue group. Spookie, and Kris will be in her pink plaid stroller. -
Wasn't some one having a biopsy? Any update? Prayers and thoughts for whom ever it is...memory is gone about which one. Sorry! -
Has any one ever had the permanent makeup done? I've been thinking of it for the eyebrows. Experiences, recommendations? -
GalSal,
Be very careful about it. My cousin had her eyebrows done and at first they looked good but in short order the browns faded and her eyebrows looked blue! She said she needed another touch up. Her brow shape had to be made bigger too, to cover over the areas where the color bled and looked blue. Permanent sounds good, but permanent IS permanent and if you don't like it you're really stuck. Just my opinion.... -
Yikes! And that's why I'm asking around. I've only seen positives on ladies so far that I've met. -
So I'm rocking out to Life is a Highway and then to Doobie Bros while driving home from work today. At a light, guy in a Beemer is trying to get my attention so I roll down the window and say Hello. He says to me, I wanted to know what radio station you're rockin' out to. Told him 104.7, Doobie Bros. He gets this blank look on his face and I'm saying you don't know them? He says knows of them, never heard their music. Tells me he's in his 50s. I'm like, Dude I went to see them in concert in 78. In my mind I'm thinking how could you NOT have heard them if you're in your 50s. Says to me you're not from here, you rolled the window down. Asks me if I'm into sports. Ummm, no not unless it's the Red Wings or Bears. He laughs and says that might help and when are we going out. Says don't you know who I am, do you. I'm like Nope, should I. Says yes I should. Tells me to check out a specific radio station. Checked things out when I got home. Former Tampa Buc and radio person was hitting me up. LMAO Btw, he wasn't born until I was a Senior in High School. Doh! That made far more sense than not knowing any Doobie Bros music. I'm thinking it must be the new do and wheels. LMAO. I'd almost asked how well that bit about don't you know who I am works for him. It was an interesting ride home for sure. -
some girls have all the luck! -
Son was like, Mom you should have said yes so I could brag about it. LMAO -
Shout out - I know we've at least one in the group had a Flap surgery. Please tell me you've had this too and it gets better! It bugs me to ask to ask the questions and sound like a hypochondriac. You ladies are the ones to come to.
Surgery was over a year ago and recently have been having some major muscles pulls on the side that had two ribs involved. We're talking these are enough to cause me pressing the palm against it to help calm things down. Now and then just can't get a comfortable sitting position no matter what. Over the past few months this has been happening more often and now is not only daily but multiple times daily. No real weight gain going on. -
Hello all of my BCO Sisters!
I'm finished with the non-stop month of October! My son turned 16 today so we spent this last October weekend with relatives on the east coast of Florida! Whew! Having said that..............
I'm ready to have all of you here, in my "hood". It would really help if we could have a Potluck Luncheon Dishes type of get together. I'll provide the beverages which will include a spiked punch! Please send me a message so I can send you my address and phone number. Oh, I'm really hoping as many of you as possible will join us. These get togethers are my favorite part of having had breast cancer!!!
Firework -
Firework! SO glad to hear from you and that all is well!! Do you have a particular type of food type in mind? Chinese, Mexican, French, Italian, etc?
It's on my calendar. Might be later than I intend, all depends on whether we have to work for a while that day or not. What is the time and all? Inquiring minds you know! Sending a message to you, m'Dear. Thank you for the gracious offer of your home. -
what is the date? -
Galsal, yes on the type of food......anything, your favorite lunch salad, sandwiches, soup or brunch dish!
The date is this Saturday, November 2nd. Cocktails at 11:30, oops! I know, I know you can't call them cocktails at 11:30 in the morning. "Eye-Openers" any time after 11:30! Whatever time you can get here is fine! SpecialK usually arrives later, right? (Snicker snicker!) I'm looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible! I think we have some new members.....I welcome you and encourage you to join us Saturday.
Oh and I have 4 small dogs as well as 2 cats. The pups will be in their kennels, my sons cat stays in his room while Sunny likes to be with the crowd. If you have animal allergies, I'll try to get the hair and dander off of the rugs and furniture. If the day is cool enough we can open the sliders to the Lanai.
Please send me a message and I'll give you my address and phone number!

I've been reading posts to catch up on everybody.
Ameron, sorry for the waiting game......it's the pits. Although once you get the good news the memory of waiting is completely erased from your mind!! Be sure to tell the scheduler that you're an artist, you need your hands to create custom pieces of jewelry!
GalSal, I hope you'll be able to get in soon! I'm not an LE sufferer (yet) but I've listened to the hardship it causes people.
SpecialK, I hope all of you had a great time at the game! Again, it's not about who wins or loses (terribly!) It's aboutthe camaraderie right?!!!

GalSal,
Ok...speed dating.......pickin up guys while driving.....permanent make-up ( which I've wanted forever!) sounds like to me, you're ready to ROAR!! I don't have any great subjects to suggest but a technique I applied a few times. I believe a fella falls in love with the way he feels about himself when he's with you, THEN, they are ready to start listening to you! Good Luck! -
Galsal -- I too am having abdominal muscle issues after DIEP (stage 1: July 2012, stage 2: Dec 2012). Muscles contract when I get up from a chair or sometimes spontaneously (not painful, though), and my abdomen is bulging to the extent that my local PS ordered a CT scan to rule out a seroma, and found nothing wrong. I have put on a few pounds lately, but the bulging started much earlier. I don't understand what your rib issue would be. I think I am left to try to take off some weight and do abdominal exercises. It would be nice to feel more "normal" someday; dealing with adrenal fatigue too.
Oh -- we're talking Nov 2 for get-together. I have a potluck and costume thing that afternoon, so not sure I can manage running to Tampa too. Thinking about it... -
I knew someone had the Diep experience too. Thanks, AnnAlive. Sorry to hear you're having muscle issues that don't have a root cause identified just yet. It's actually below the lowest rib, just happens to be on the side they had to move Two to find the artery needed. Yes, no one wants all involved with this "new normal" stuff.
Can't do MLD since there's no way could have some one or even myself from the ribs down with the pressing and stroking to work on any fluid buildup - not without being majorly drugged up that is.
Firework, you just might be right about roaring. Imagine that and I'm not even a Leo. teehee -
Driving home today, lo and behold that guy is in the car next to me at the same light again. Him - hey are you following me, Me - no, you're following me. Said he'd been at the Race Track, asked if I worked around there. Said yes and he's like, oh are you a teacher you look like a teacher. LMAO No, I'm not a teacher I work with computers. A bit more conversation and the light changed. This was at Race Track Rd and Hillsborough. I drive home on Hillsborough to Memorial to get on a frontage road to access the brief bit to get by the Cypress exit. Until over by Independence, we were heading the same way and at the same stop lights. Go figure. LMAO -
GalSal,
Sounds pretty serendipitous! Keep us posted! -
tell him to pull in the Cracker Barrel for coffee! -
We'll see what happens. Yes, I agree...get a cup of coffee, say hello, etc. One can't have enough Friends in life, right. -
I just may have to come Sat to catch up on all of this. -
Is he cute? -
