Yorkie - sounds like we are going down similar paths with our babies. Hugs for you. Ultrasounds shows lots of fluids in Ms Boo's abdomen. "Could be diffuse cancer." As bad, FIP, which is also fatal. A slighter chance it could be Pancreatitis, though not presenting that way. I hope it is not FIP, as my other cat has been exposed. These two guys are all I have in this world. She is getting marvelous care though. I'm going to the Vets tomorrow to spend as much time as I can with her. Won't know anything, probably, until biopsy and some enzyme test done and it's the weekend. This particular cat is as much a mother to me as I am to her. She is such a beauty too and only 7. Hoping for Pancreatitis, please.
Have no idea what's going on with the government right now. Not sure it would even distract me at this point. -
So sorry to hear of your furbaby's troubling ultrasound results, Kam. I hope they find it is something not so bad as they think - she is so young at 7! Hugs to you and to Ms. Boo, as well as nose-kisses from Forrest and Peaches! -
Hugs to both Kam and Yorkie! I still miss my Virg, so I know what you are going through. He was such a presence!
E love you girl and hoping Boston's gonna do it!
Time to watch TV in my bed so see you all tomorrow! -
Yokie and Kam -- hoping like everything that a good turn-around can come for the furries. It is distressing when they are ill. We are at a huge disadvantage to help or even communicate how distressing to us personally that we can not make things right for the ones that have done so much for us. Prayers for good outcomes.
E --- so glad you will put Boston in charge. Hoping and praying for everything good. It's time.

Kam, I had a very young Siamese, dear sweet Coco, develop FIP (he was less than a year old when he died). The vet told me that FIP is (considered) genetic and usually affects cats under 2 years of age. Toffee the burmese was his playmate and I was a bit concerned about him developing it too -- but he did not, and is right now sleeping in his little bed beside me! While the abdominal fluid is the primary symptom of FIP, there could be many other possibilities and we'll all be keeping fingers crossed that Ms Boo will soon be returning to good health. -
Kam, I'm praying for Boo to have a successful recovery. She is so young. :-( My fur baby is Chloe. She is not young, so what we're going through is the inevitable, but still very hard. -
Oh dear, I thought Ms Boo was a much older kitty. Well then, my toes are crossed too. The way we noticed that Coco was not well was that his stomach became extended and he wasn't as active, although he never lost his appetite.
Yorkie -- I think I must be mixing up your Chloe with Ms Boo. Sending hugs to all kitties and kitty mamas. -
Love all of you. I'm just going to be a mess until this is sorted out. Boo is my stronger third. I had written so much more, but ofcourse I got logged out as usual before I hit Submit. Can't even post a picture anymore.
And whats with my other cat? She doesn't even seem to miss Ms Boo? Thank you all. -
Kam, everything crossed that it turns out to be pancreatitus for Ms Boo. I know how difficult it is when you're facing a terrible diagnosis for one of your furbabies. I lost my belovedcat, Mozart, a beautiful Nowegean forest cat, and my two German Shepherds to cancer. -

Million errands to run and turkey to get! See yas later! -
Love the pictures Blue. First one was so calming. Certainly something needed. Reading just a couple of articles this a.m. So mind boggling. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/10/12/low-can-idiots-go-popularity-republican-party-takes-dramatic-plunge/ How far down into total destruction do you have to go. Piece on t.v. last night about Boehner willing to fulfill what the will of the people indicated. Well, he hasn't yet and there are not many good signs still.
I think as well the Repugs have put themselves in a position ( minus points in ratings ) where very little if ANY bargaining is necessary. They have done what they have done and I don't see that they have anything left. Such a huge, HUGE risk to take.....to end up with nothing and so much ill will. Dems are not blameless, but I don't know of anything so maximally dysfunctional right now. They have nothing.

This is an article about Freedom Works and the mounting financial problems they have. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/10/11/report-tea-party-group-freedomworks-is-in-deep-financial-trouble/
Interesting too is the in-fighting that is going on. Too many irons in the fire and no idea just how one will get turned on. A loony bunch in need of a bin.

What great cartoons - really funny, and ah, so true.
I admit, watching the Elephants having a circular firing squad party is becoming more & more interesting. Popcorn anyone?
Love George Carlin, and so, so true.
Well, RL is off to Cancun, Bren is in sunny CA, Alexandria is writing, E is getting into the Boston trial, and Monday is Thanksgiving for all those lucky enuf to live in "Oh, Canada." HAPPY THANKSGIVING...as I don't expect you celebrate the "Indians" being kind enuf to teach you how to survive ( dead fish in with plantings, etc.) - what is the October Thanksgiving in gratitude for, and as I'm writing this I'm thinking it's something sensible like The Harvest...
But then Blue said she was off buying a turkey - I won't tell all the wild ones roaming around my house... -
GG, regarding the Democrats attempting to give the Republicans so much of what they want...In family and group dynamics the group or family is usually only as mentally healthy as the least mentally healthy of the group because the healthy members try so hard to keep the unhealthy member "happy," "not angry," etc. This throws the entire dynamic into an unhealthy interaction. The GOP in my opinion is like crazy Uncle Jack who everybody tries to keep from going off at the family gatherings. -
Sunny -- Our Canadian Thanksgiving is indeed a celebration of the "harvest" and of our immense gratitude for living in a beautiful land of freedom and good will towards all...and....universal healthcare! I was reading something earlier today about the fact that the Pilgrims were totally against celebrations of any kind. Hmmm...don't they feature prominently in your grade school plays??!!!
Kam and Yorkie -- any updates on your dear kitties? -
just got home from vet (60 mi away). Boo was eating well (out of my hand) and good energy. Talking to the doctor was more depressing. She doesn't think it is pancreatitis and shook her head at ibd, but not fully committing to cancer. Waiting for cytology test that should be back tonite or tomorrow. I'm bracing myself. Such a wonderful hospital. They all loved my Ms Boo. Life is not the same at home. A big part of my family is missing. -
Kam, fingers and toes still crossed for Ms Boo and for you. I know all too well what you must be feeling, but eating and energy are still good signs. Keep us posted. We worry with you....and remember: cats are by nature solitary, and it isn't surprising that her kitty sibling wasn't missing her, but I bet he/she was still happy to have her back home! -
A little more light-hearted than most, but fairly true anyway.

Lays it out neatly -- ties up any loose ends. Shows clearly who was in charge of the wrecking ball. We have never been in denial about it either.
