Three on top should definitely go first....then ALL of the rest.

Some internal fight within GOP whether to take this govt shutdown back to defunding Obamacare or their new reasons (lol- caused by their wish to defund Obamacare): WWII Memorial, NPS, NIH and children with cancer, etc..
Koch brothers in squabble with Heritage and Freedomworks over cause du jour. Nice to know these 3 entities control our country, hey? -
Thank God and Brenda for my MMBs. It would be tough maintaining my questionable sanity otherwise. -
Mucho mojo to Eeeeeeek......and many many sorts to riverrat - I thin the best way to deal with the stress of what's happening in the world, stock market, all over, is DeNile. Gentle paddles down the river, imagining how the people managed thousands of years ago, and then remembering, again, and again,
Wendell Berry speaking to Bill Moyers. Was on PBS here last night, sure to be shown again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check our local PBS station to see when it will be shown where you are. I've always loved Wendell Berry, his poetry and prose, but I've never heard him interviewed before, and Bill Moyers is such a masterful interviewer. Definitely MUST SEE tv. Probably available online for a few weeks now too.
Wendell Berry. If you don't "know" him, please meet him. You DESERVE the wisdom he shares, and the gentle loving way he interacts with the world, even when he's being arrested for protesting ;-) SUCH a wonderful human being.
Sunshine. Cool, lion weather. Cool weather will always be lion weather. -
No wonder I love this guy!
-
Sunny, naps help too! Just took one so I know. :-) -
Blue, I don't know who that is but based on his t-shirt logo, I love him too! -
Oh, yorkie, naps are my favorite activity. Also love that Winston Churchill always took naps. Sad they were very important. Only thing for me now is, as I lead a Saturday Live, my naps could easily last 4 hours, so now I set the alarm on the clock, so I wake up after about an hour.
Before napping - here's the interview it is so, so wonderful.

The only way I can take a nap is to fall asleep in my big comfy chair. Get in bed - nope. Naps are the only way I can get my sleep to add up to 8 hours a day!
Just dropped my Ms Boo off at the Vet. She has some infection, cause unknown. Hopefully she will get off easy with some antibiotics when I pick her up this afternoon. Trying not to be helicopter mamma and waited 4 days for her to get better - now I feel like it is better that I go back to being a helicopter kitty mamma.

Yorkie, that's Norman Reedus, the guy I took a photo with this summer at FanExpo. -
Sunny, awesome interview!
Kam, Hope your baby gets well soon. I'm so worried about my yorkie. She has a syndrome that could be "idiopathic," meaning it has no known origin and will go away on its own, OR, she may have a brain tumor. :'-( Vet said only time will tell. If it goes away it is ok, if not then we scan. She's kind of been stumbling the last couple of days and her vision is shot, although this is partly due to the syndrome. Giving her eye drops helps a lot. She turns 16 in November. I'm not ready to let go. -
Hi Everyone,
It's a cool afternoon here. Guess I better just adapt or I'll be really depressed when it starts snowing!
Blue .. Love the picture of the flower garden. Always wanted a garden just like that. Omg .. my computer just crashed on this site. -
I don't know what the hell happened. I must have hit a strange key or something. It's still broken. Every time I hit the return key a I get some weird hyperlink message. help. -
Okay, I'm going to try this again. MODS .. CAN YOU HELP ME> ... It's still broken ... getting some kind of hyper-text pulldwown menu and don't know how to make it go away. -
One more try. I think it's working now.
Enjoyful.. wanted to say I'm glad the MMB's are helping. They can cure just about anything!
Kam .. hope all goes well for your kitty.
Yorkie ... hope your little yorkie is okay ... know how much we worry about our pet babies.
hugs,
Bren -
Interesting

"Save us from the madness," the [Senate] chaplain said last week. “Deliver us from the hypocrisy of attempting to sound reasonable while being unreasonable.”
River_Rat - I'm sending sorts to you via the interwebs! -
Enjoyful ... can I have a couple of sorts too please? I'm quite cranky this afternoon.
hugs,
Bren -
On their way, Bren! -

Oh Bren....if it isn't one thing, its the computer. How many times I've done something similar. Was in a hurry yesterday and had to download an update to something.....and in a hurry ( like always lately ) and must have been a box that installed all kinds of things...........I'm rid of it all save for its going to THAT home page instead of mine.
Was able later to re-install the update without the junk.
Sunny....I liked listening to Mr. Berry. I do not have the same outlook as many people. Without having ever read Mr. Berry ( that I'm aware of in any way ) I always felt we have fallen into being rather callous about our Earth, Rainforests, all wetlands really, and the Atmosphere. Poked far too many holes in the ozone and to much space junk up there, and on and on.
I also feel ( does not have that much to do with religion because for too many that is actually a good excuse to not be much of a person ) that we are here to enhance our Spirit. A lot of people would take me to task on this one, but while many would see me as not a nice person for a variety of reasons......I do know one thing........I may rail ( not sure that is the right word ) in an extremely loud and consistent manner, but I wish no one harm. I may absolutely hate the actions of a person, but I do not hate their soul. That is the whole essence of things......you don't have to love or agree with anyone, you can disagree quite strongly up to hating how they behave.....it just will not mean a whole lot unless you are hating and destructive to that person's soul.
You are therefore glorying your Spirit when you say no to all that you DEEPLY KNOW in your heart and soul is wrong. Just like the things the T. Party is doing. It is wrong playing the games they are playing and nothing on this Earth can make it right. They are destructive, not constructive. If something hurts many more than it helps than best be thinking about that.
So, yes Sun, Mr. Berry has a lot that I can agree about. As to whether people agree with me......I don't need them too. It is my spirit I have to be concerned with first --- this likely relates for the most part to others from other threads. The enforcer types who don't recognize any other way but their own.
So for better or worse, there it is.

Such a horrid thing....notice where the trickle up and down resides.

Thanks for the sorts, now instead of out of sorts I am all sorted out. Also thanks for the links. I especially liked the Senate chaplain and Wendell Berry links. -
They say you can't (most unfortunately) fix STUPID...
ETA: Tried to insert a short article here about an outrageously stupid comment by FLA Rep Yolo, using c and p. Didn't take....again!
ETA2: It showed up in the preview, but after I hit "submit" it disappeared. -
Yorkie - I hope only good things for your Yorkie. I called the Vet; they're still waiting to get a urine sample to rule out infection there (which is almost good news since that would mean no bowel obstruction). Last time my cat got an idiopathic ("unspecified" is the proper word) UTI, I got BC. I've joked she knew something was up. This time I actually hope they find something and it isn't her stressed out about me!
