Notself, re the quiz you posted - no surprise, solid liberal here too. -
C4C, Blue - many thanks - expect you know David Corn, of Mother Jones, was the person who BROKE the Mitt Romney video and make it go VIRAL - you remember the one, 47 % of us are moocher, losers, parasites, etc. Can't remember all da woids, I was too busy drinking my ( Hi, Bartender) Koloured Kool-Aid, purple for me, when you're serving ;-)))
LOVE Mother Jones! Also the Onion, yikes, they've been having fun.
BHO to speak at 2:00pm, he called Boehner HE CALLED HIM, what a weird world - President Obama is so generous, really, kinda wish he get REALLY REALLY MAD! -
I came out post modern on the quiz -
Bren,
I graduated Grossmont High and attended San Diego State. I loved the town in the 60s and 70s but now it is just too crowded. I like the open country of the Ozarks. -
No surprise....I too am a "Solid Liberal". No reason at all at this point to change a thing about that either. Boehner, I have few words for him.....except maybe he should be locked up. Then again....is Cantor better.
Have to go do some more work but I will be back.
Jackie -

I saw this before but never put it in.... -
-
Notself ... O.M.G. ... we were neighbors. I had lots of friends at Grossmont High. I also attended Grossmont JC. And what's really cool is that now my son is teaching physics at that college. He attended UCSD and San Diego State.
I could never live there again ... been out of San Diego for 12 years now. I prefer the country. Just wish it wasn't so far to travel to see my son and his family.
hugs,
Bren -
I did the quiz, just to see what I would turn out as given your politics is so different from here. I came out Post Modern
-
I'm so depressed. Everywhere I look there are STUPID people. The reason our politics are in the state they are is stupidity. From the people who happily sign up for Affordable health care because it isn't Obamacare, to the birthers, to the morons who think there is a secret plan foe Obama to take over the country, to the morons who don't even know what the three branches of government are or even what the name of their Senator is, but they know all about leaches like the Kardashians........AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Everyone should be required to take the citizenship test before they register another car or renew a license. I'm sick of stupid. -
Solid Liberal here! But that's no surprise.
Bren I baked a cranberry/apple pie today so things are looking up. They did say it would take a week to 10 days to kick in but I'm feeling less pain, maybe placebo? And guess what, they didn't even charge me for the botox injection even though they hadn't yet heard from my supplemental insurance company. Botox needs pre-approval, and I was late in submitting the paperwork. I LOVE my doctors, all sixteen of them...hahahaha! -
Chickadee ... looking for the "like" button.
Blue ... so glad to hear you made a pie! I bet your whole house smells great. I almost made an apple pie the other day ... except the thought of peeling all those apples got the better of me!
Even if it's a placebo effect and not the Botox yet, having less pain is great!
If you guys haven't seen it yet ... at the top of the forums is a note from the mods. They are looking for pictures and quotes from members of BCO for their Rock the Ribbon event. I sent a bunch of photos and a quote to Melissa a few minutes ago ... and she's already responded! Maybe some of you can join in too! Since some of you gals are in my photos, you're already participating!
hugs,
Bren -
Chickadee, EXACTLY. And don't mention the fact that Jesus was a Socialist. They go to Church every Sunday and haven't yet realized what Jesus was all about. But they are good Christians. They pray to God and they go to Church. That's all that is required, I guess. -
While I definitely want to see this shutdown end, there is a small part of me that enjoys watching the TPGOP self-destruct:
From: http://election.princeton.edu/2013/10/08/the-risk-to-the-gop-house-majority/
"In the current shutdown, John Boehner might be acting out of fear of losing his position. If he doesn’t appease the hardliners who are willing to take the government and economy over the brink for their goals, he could be ejected from the Speaker’s seat. However, is there some chance that he’ll lose his position another way – by Republicans losing the House majority in January 2015?
Usually, the President’s party loses House seats at the midterm election. The normal expectation would be for Republicans to gain seats in 2014. But exceptions can happen, for instance in 1998, when Democrats picked up five seats. That came after a rough few years during which Speaker Newt Gingrich led the way to the last substantial shutdown.
...Since the election is over a year away, it is hard to predict how this will translate to future seat gain/loss. If the election were held today, Democrats would pick up around 30 seats, giving them control of the chamber. I do not expect this to happen. Many things will happen in the coming 12 months, and the current crisis might be a distant memory. But at this point I do expect Democrats to pick up seats next year, an exception to the midterm rule.
Note that in these calculations I did not even include the worst of the news for Republicans. In a followup series of questions, PPP then told respondents that their representative voted for the shutdown. At that point, the average swing moved a further 3.1% toward Democrats, and 22 out of 24 points were in the gray zone. That would be more like a 50-seat gain for Democrats – equivalent to a wave election. An analyst would have to be crazy to predict that! However, it seems like mandatory information for a Democratic campaign strategist – or any Republican incumbent who won by less than 20 points in 2012."

DJD, I think the teabags are setting themselves, and everybody associated with them, on fire. So, yeah, contrary to the usual patter, I think the crazies will lose the House next year. It will be the ONLY positive thing to come out of this teabag created disaster. -
I saw the mods post and am going to try, but for some reason I had trouble trying to use one of my pics from Picasa. I also know someone else who is dealing with that.
Otherwise, as far as other thing, I would be looking for the like button too ( there is something for the mods and new tool-bar,a like button if you can please ) for the same people and reasons. Although I am not as wise as some....let me tell you, I shine for finding those who share the essence of my thought patterns and especially as to where it relates to political events, parties and people.
So, many times I have seen the stupid brought down.....but like many stupid people, they get up long before they have learned much and go right back traipsing around where they actually shouldn't be, getting neck deep ( your choice here ) in stuff over and over. I get on a site.....the name for it has likely turned up on some of my graphics about many of the less educated, fairly deficient conservatives, and what they are doing to our government with their behaviors. I'd worry about making a mistake in this......but unlike the left side, all the proof in the world does them not one iota of good.
Can't repeat it too often......you people lost. In a gigantic and resounding way, not once but twice. As I was growing up it was very common to hear someone say about another person that they were very hard headed or rail-headed. Mainly due to all the strong evidence that they continually ignored and kept getting the same stupid result over and over. So.......I very much enjoy my graphic site totally. It offers much relief from the continued assault of having to be -- thank goodness at a distance -- a part of the antics of the stupid people.
Jackie -

Thought I'd drop in one from the site right now. -

Boehner.....the b*****d not only does not deserve to be SOH....he in my humble opinion does not belong in government anywhere, but maybe janitorial service. -
I dug up the romantic series called North and South over the weekend and I was struck by the similarities between the portrayal of the secessionists and today's tea party. They were rabid in their pursuit of destroying the democracy just as these tea party people are now. The anger, the stupidity, the single-mindedness. The complete inability to foresee the consequences of their stupidity and anger.
I can't help but feel we are at the early parts of another civil war, but the line of demarcation is not going to be obvious this time. -
Chicky, the Repubss are dropping like stones in the polls. By next week I think it will be twice as bad for them. Even in the gerrymandered districts, people are not going to want our country flushed down the toilet. I predict we take back the House in 2014. Then, we can get this country back on track. -
I just called my GOP Congressman. Last week I called and his underling denied he was a Tea Partier. Today's underling wouldn't deny or claim TP affliliations, but I found this from a small town newspaper in our rural Congressional district:
It is a stark reminder that “all politics is no longer local”; rather, big money interests are “politically hijacking” small communities such as ours to further their own national political agenda and ideology — but not necessarily our more pragmatic interests as constituents.
LaMalfa’s largest contributors include the “leadership” PACS such as the Koch Brothers’, as well as oil & gas (Exxon Mobil, $5,000), healthcare (AMA, $10,000); insurance companies (New York Life Insurance, $10,000), tobacco (Reynolds America, $2,500) and the like.
PAC contributions comprise 34 percent of LaMalfa’s donations and large contributions total another 40 percent. Small contributions (from the likes of local political blogger Todd Juvinall) are just 4 percent and other is 23 percent, according to OpenSecrets.org.
This guy engaged me as opposed to the wishy washy pablum you usually get from a Congressional Office. Let me tell you, there was no sense these bastards are ever going to stand down. He even accussed me of using Obama's talking points (while using the GOPs). Since he shares the same health insurance I do, as a federal employee, I soon realized he had zero clue that his own insurance would cost him atleast $5000 out of pocket if he had a serious illness while he exclaimed these plans on the exchanges have these $5000 out of pocket expenses - most do idiot!! Then he went on an on about crossing state lines for cheaper plans - let the market take care of it. Oh, like the price of gasoline? He would prefer to have insurance companies 100% in charge of our health.
The biggest lie he told me - that Obamacare is unpopular. He was beligerent and I could tell their heels are dug in. -
Kam, is your Congressbagger vulnerable in 2014? -
-
2012 - Doug La Malfa, 57.4%, 168,827. Democratic, Jim Reed, 42.6%, 125,386. Total Votes, 294,213
This is his first term. He replaced, probably, the stupidest Congressman in the House, Wally Herger, who had a good probability of losing the 2012 election, so the PTB had him replaced by La Mafia - as I call him. La Mafia was from the California State Senate. Rural counties in California are very Conservative, but there are some mountain and forested areas that are not. They made sure we didn't have Trinity County in our district (a forested area), which would tip us Democratic, giving us the valley farming counties toward Sacramento. Farmers love water and Republicans love to take from wildlife and Native American fisheries to give to them.
I think there is the potential to dislodge this guy, but we'd have to get every Democrat and potential Democrat out to vote. We are very white and we love our guns here. Emoticon puke. -
There's another party brewing down there that consists of crazy motorcyclists, crazy truck drivers and crazy chiefs of police. They call themselves Patriots and if you think the Tea Party is nuts, these guys are nuts and have a penchant for violence and have automatic weapons. I read their posts on FB and they are getting everyone riled up. They do scare me. -
This is so COOL!
-
-
Well, the latest tealiban stunt might just give you that edge! -
-
I don't know Yorkie. Some continue to blame this mess "on both Parties." This false equivolency notion is perpetuated by our media, over and over. Today, in my drawing class, the woman next to me said "I wish they'd throw out the Tea Partiers and the Radical Liberals." I didn't say anything, but who are these "radical liberals" of Congress? She is seemingly an intelligent enough woman, but these notions have been implanted in people's heads by Fox News (for sure) and have no basis. The truth can't seem to compete with all the misinformation out there.
