I'm here, too! Just got done with an hour on the elliptical at the gym......I am beyond pooped out...... :P

Liefie, I will be interested in how you like the tread climber.........I kind of want one...love to get your take on it!

Nihahi, glad your cold is subsiding, and you have a bit more energy. I think we are so used to having enough energy to "do it all" that when we are out of sorts......it really throws our game off. Any hikes planned for this weekend?

Hope everyone else is doing well, and are having good days! XO

Nihahi, you are spot-on about all these special occasions, and the eating/rewarding with treats. Maintaining/losing weight is 80% what you eat, and 20% exercise. Every person determines her own progress, and it is a deliberate decision you make to choose health, and not to throw all caution overboard when you are celebrating. We have all learned to just automatically stuff ourselves without thinking about it because food/treats are so readily available.  If we first had to hunt for, and find the food as of old, it would be totally different. So it is a mindset, really. I call it 'aware eating'. These days when I have people over for a meal, I choose protein, veggies and salads that  DH and I can eat without guilt, and make them as tasty as I can with herbs, lemon juice, etc. I grow my own herbs, and it is such a joy to experiment. Gone are the days of sugar and loads of butter. Last night I had fresh tomatoes from the garden, and whole basil leaves with some olive oil, salt, black pepper, and some cheese grated over top. Yummy and healthy.

I think the Treadclimber sounds really good, and the reports say it is very effective when I researched it a while back.

However, they also say the engine tends to burn out real quick, and a lot of people have had nothing but trouble because of that!!

I might go back to "step" soon. I enjoy the class atmosphere, as it often makes workouts pass by more quickly!

Nihahi, it's true the numbers did go down considerably on the Ink Pots part of the trail, but there were still people about. ........ I'll try a smaller size picture....

Glorious sunshine fall day here, and just came back from a long walk with bearfighter.

Morwenna, I'm negotiating with a nearby store with a good aftercare service warranty, and will also have them assemble it on site in my house to make sure everything is firing on all cylinders, so to speak. Then I'll keep my fingers crossed that I did not get a lemon - lol.

Movie, sorry I did not see your post earlier. Will defo keep you updated on the treadclimber. From what I understand, even really fit people cannot stay on it longer than 5 minutes or so in the beginning, and it will surely be interesting - lol. We think it will be good for DH with his blown knee, because it is low-impact. It will probably take a week or so to get it, depending on whether the store needs to order one in. I'm waiting to hear from them. Once winter really strikes, we will probably not be able to walk outside as often as we can now, and the machine will come in handy.

Nope....no picture comes up for me either. Here's what I do, using photobucket. Not sure if it's the same for flickr.

    1. Before trying to put a photo on the thread, download your photo into photobucket. I then keep that program open while continuing on.

    2. In the "reply" space, put the cursor where you want to put the photo. Then, click on the "tree" icon just above the reply box. Again...I keep the bco program open.

    3. Go to the photo "site", and click on the photo you want to post. That will bring up a box on the right side of the page. Right click on the Direct box and you will see the word "copied" appear.

    4. Now go back to the insert box that came up when you clicked on the tree icon, and paste that info into the Image URL box...you have to use "Control V" to paste.

    5. Resize the image....I usually set it at 700x500. Then click on "insert".

I have never figured out how to insert more than one photo at a time, so you have to repeat each step for every photo.

    Clear as mud?

Well, I stayed away from chocolate today. I was able to get another dose of wheatgrass down...If this biopsy comes back B9 tomorrow I will through the wheatgrass in the horse pasture across the street. If the biopsy comes back positive for another cancer, well I might through a few other things. Wanted to do some sewing tonight, but I cannot seem to get upstairs to "Fuji Island" when there are clothes to be mangled. Yes, I like to iron wrinkles away, with a 1950 rotary iron. Actually I like to mix up a cocktail of vodka, essential oil, and water to spray my clothes too. Yes, have to have my cocktail while I mangle.

Trying to stay positive about tomorrow's results. Use to be one of those people, nothing bad happened to. Now it seems I am one of those people that do not get good news. So as Scarlett would say, "yes, tomorrow IS another day."

    Take care ladies. ((HUGS))

Momof2, Scarlett O' Hara has gotten me through many tough times too - 'I will think about it tomorrow' has been a favorite saying of mine for a long time, and it still is. You say you are one of those people that nothing bad ever happened to, and now you seem to only get bad news. I felt the same after my hysterectomy. Ob/Gyn told me that my chance of haemorrhaging internally after the surgery is 1% - guess who almost died 2 days later from bleeding . . . S--t happens, and things will get better for you again. Sending you positive vibes for good news tomorrow, and BIG HUGS too!

Nihahi, thanks for the photo coaching. I did try photobucket as well as Flickr, so maybe I'll have another go tomorrow and try to follow your instructions.

Still waiting...I have a surgeon who NEVER calls with results in a prompt manner. I called my oncologist office this AM and told them what has happened. Hopefully someone will get back with me. I will just go crazy if no results come before the weekend. Monday 9/30 is my 60th birthday and I really do not want to get a phone call that day wishing me a happy cancer day. Feeling pretty anxious ATM.

Hope everyone else has a good day/weekend.

Mom....It is just so tough to get through the waiting....!!!!! Try to stay busy with your sewing projects, take those doggies for walks...there is NO good day to get difficult news, but it is understandable that you don't want to have that happen on your birthday. Then again, you could get pretty fantastic news, that would make one heck of a memorable birthday present....!

well, no surprises Yell The onocologist office was able to get the path report...still no word from the surgeon. It is the same type I had last year....1cm IDC, ER+PR-, grade 3 with of course some grade 3 DCIS to complete the 2cm seen on US.

Now I need the BRCA testing...whatever...but I am going for a BMX. Not up for reconstruction at age 60.

So we shall see how long it takes the surgeon's office to call and schedule with me...ARGH

And you know what...I had this feeling that Arimidex was not going to protect me. I am just too D$%^ intuitive for my own good.

    Hi Edi is back !!!

Mom, so hope you hear good news and NOT on your 60th.

Liefie, so right about the two loos. lol. Today the sun was cracking the flippin flags !! We did a long walk but actually too hot.
Supposed to go back to white eagle for fresh caught fish and chips before setting off home.
DH talks to man on our caravan site who convinces him to go elsewhere. It was HORRID !! I had soup YUK. DH also disliked his, he, he, served him right ! It was like a waiting room for hell honestly. Really stuffy and hot.
If we had gone where we planned we could have sat out on the deck overlooking the beach Frown
He is sooo in the dog house. woof woof.

Could any of you help me with a query, recently little fingers bit numb and tingling as the day goes on. Is this neuropathy ?? If so does it go eventually.

Just seen on the news that a building I worked in as a young woman The Cunard Building is to be turned into check in for cruises from Liverpool.

Hope you all going to have a good weekend. I am on a training day for my telephone BC buddy tomorrow, soooo excited. DH says anything and he will be sorry. Wink

Nice to go away but can't wait to get into my comfy bed tonight. X

    HI Bellies!

I have just a moment....DGS had surgery this AM and am leaving for hospital, but wanted to pop in and Say "Hi" to you all......

Edi, all in all it sounds like you had a good holiday......I love caravans (we call them travel trailers on this side of the pond.....but caravan sounds much more exotic!)  Sorry you had such awful food at a place that was recommended.....the guy probably has an interest in the restaurant he guided you to!  :(

Momof 2.....so very sorry about your news......:(  I am 59, and was going to opt for no recon, but BS said she wouldn't even cut me until I had consulted with a PS to go over ALL my options.....needless to say, I ended opting for DIEP......I mostly love it, but I just had second surgery about 4 weeks ago, and I think I have a case of surgery fatigue.  I am sure you will make the decision that is best, and right for you.  XO

Dakota....gald you are checking in......hope you get a few minutes to yourself this weekend, inbetween all the games and sport your lucky kids are into!  XO

Everyone else, I hope you have a good day today (whatever day it is, and wherever you are!)  :)   XO

Edi....you are such a hoot! What in the world does "sun cracking the flipping flags" mean anyway????? Don't have much advice for you re: tingly fingers, if it's not neuropathy....could be something in your posture irritating the nerves in your neck/shoulders??? Does anything make it better or worse???

momof2....good that you have the results.....sorry it's not what anyone hoped for. Sounds like you already have a plan in place???? fyi....I had my (much delayed) recon done in April, and I am now 63...If you don't want recon, that's 100% fine, but don't eliminate it as an option because you feel you are "too old"!!!! At the young age of 60, you've got many years of living to do.

movie....hope all is well with your grandson...have an awesome time with jeannie up in Seattle...so wish I could be there too...probably best I'm not though. Nose and eyes still dripping!

    love to all.

    Momof2,

    Sorry to hear your news.

I had same issues with my surgeon's office. After second surgery she said I could call the office in two days and get my results. I just rolled my eyes. Must be she understands eye rolls...they called me for the first time! I'm in my early 60's and I understand you not wanting to go for reconstruction.

I have been meaning to tell you I have been to Athens. I think for a total of 15 minutes at the small airport hanger to refuel :-)

Try to enjoy your birthday. I will be thinking of you.

Mom, so sorry our posts must have crossed, good luck on this journey.

Nihahi, sun cracking the flags applies to being that hot the flags of concrete our pavements ( sidewalks to you ) are made up of will crack open. Needless to say not very often lol.
Numbness etc just started recently and nothing seems to make it worse or better Frown will have to ask consultant week on Monday. Another question for my little pink notebook.

Movie, everything crossed for DGS. Sure you are right about the recommendation Wink he did say to tell them he sent us. Probably will get a free beer when he goes in next time ( hope it chokes him ) lol.

    Dakota, ((( HUGS )))

Does this all never end ? now getting shooting pains in other boob. Know they were mamogrammed a few weeks ago but so was the one it all originally started in and nothing showed up. Yet another question for my notebook.Undecided

Hope you all have a peaceful weekend with your loved ones. X

Thank you ladies for your best wishes. The reconstruction just seems to be long and involved. Things move at a snail's pace here and I want to be healed enough to dance at my DD's wedding in May. Something is not working (ie. Arimidex) or else I just am unable to produce the protein to discourage cancer cells. I am really tired of trying to figure this mess out. No one has the answers, certainly not little ole me with a specialty in immunology (from 25 yrs ago).

Jo...I adore papillons. I have a dear friend who has Murphee Brown and she is 19 yrs. It is so amazing that little lady has lived this long. She was the girlfriend of one of my past doxies, Fritz. He was so smitten with Murphee.

Today I ate a chocolate eclair...haven't had one in years. I decided that every time I get diagnosed with cancer, I will eat an eclair. Oh, I had to request that the pharmacist not put my presciption in the "pink" bottle with "pink" caps.

Well, we are hungered down in the house tonight and will be here until Sunday morning. Big game this weekend, UGA vs. LSU, and the fans are packing themselves into Athens. I prefer to avoid all drunk tailgaters and drivers.

Wishing good things for all this weekend....especially Dakota....My husband has a 16D shoe that is pretty effective on cockroaches..LOL

    Mom of 2-

I totally approve the chocolate eclair idea ..... although personally i'd go for Magnum ice cream bars!!

Edi .... Oh flagstones! I remember those. It is confusing here ... you walk on the "sidewalk", and the "pavement" is the bloody ROAD! :)

Only joshing Nihahi, tbh, I didn't understand the reference to "cracking the flags" either, if it's any consolation! ;p

Any hikes on tomorrow anyone, or must I go on my own again?? *cries*

momof2....you're wonderful!!!! You bet you'll be dancing your socks off at that wedding. What a wonderful thing to look forward to. I applaud your gumption to tell the pharmacist what he can do with his "pink"ing of your rx!!!!! I also very much approve of the loan of hubby's shoe to Dakota.

Edi...thanks for the translation. Never in a million years, would I have figured out that's what that phrase meant!

morwenna...no hikes for me this weekend. I'm still drippy and sniffy, and a very busy October is getting closer!

    Momof2,

My son was married December 29th last year, and I had had my mastectomy on the 12th of that month!

I didn't dance per se, but only because there really wasn't any dancing to be had! I will admit to still being on some painkillers, but that didn't stop us all having a wonderful day. May is eons away. You will be fine :)

Today is better...thank you again for all your positive words and wisdom. I will meet with the surgeon this Monday. The oncologist office was able to call him on his personal cell # and got me in Monday afternoon. The office "staff" could only give me an appointment 10/17.....ARGH

My DD and future son in law are here this weekend from Charleston. Their dachshund, Cookie, and a mixed breed, Bentley are running and playing all over the house!

I guess I have come to accept that BC is my new normal in life. So just deal with it!!

Still not thinking too much about reconstruction...and too afraid to know too much about the scars from a BMX. I tend to heal badly from any surgery, meaning I form thick ugly scar tissue. I do not know if PS have a magic way of making that better than general surgeons. I just want to get this over with along with the genetic testing. I do not want to visit another dr, meaning PS, to talk about things. Anyone with advise please share.

So that is all the wonderful news from Athens, GA. Still wish I were in Oregon today :)
