Hi Warrior Sisters,
Dakota, what's going on now? You can do this!
Michelle, I still cry. It really is OK. You will get through it and all these ladies will help.
Websister, I'm glad your work load has been lessened. One of my best friends had Herceptin and remember it wiped her out.
Here is my latest news. I went to the new Oncologist yesterday. She was amazing, I should have gone to her for my treatment. She did re-assure me that my treatment was fine and not to worry. Also the tumor marker she didn't want me to worry at all about it she did explain the new guidelines are stating not to do them. (She is with Scripps, out here in California it is one of the leading cancer research hospitals) She didn't want me to worry about my elevated marker but she did re-do it yesterday. My marker was down!! I was so happy she said I'll see you in Dec. and she also said she probably won't even do the marker. She said that's why we really don't like to do them because they jump so much.
I need to read more so much to catch up on with all of you.
Love you all,
Carla

Good news Carla
I saw my onc yesterday for follow up and he said see you in March
Michelle I still have sooky days but more so different issues Im tackling myself. We are allowed to cry.
ladies will catch up later.
Morwena welcome back -
Michelle - it is a lot to take in, especially when it was so unexpected. I am also HER2 positive, I won't lie - it is a long haul but you do it just like you would 'eat an elephant, one bite at a time and one day at a time. I will have my second to last Herceptin treatment tomorrow. If I can do it, so can you - especially with the help of all these wonderful ladies.
Jo - already encouraging others on this thread, you are wonderful!
Movie - hope muscle spasms decrease and you sleep well tonight
Carla - so good to hear about your new oncologist and how the appt went
Nihahi - good for your friend for being assertive, hope it all goes smoothly for her, glad chemo is doing it's thing
Liefie - I also smiled at the Brooklyn Bridge reference, you can still blame chemo brain
Edi - love the inspiration and smiles from the pictures posted. Hope bingo went well.
Past time I should be getting ready for tomorrow and heading to bed.
Hugs to all, goodnight! -
Carla...that's wonderful news....a good, confident doctor makes all the difference!
Traii....hmmmm....rather cryptic message, hope all is well with you and your family. Good news though re: see you in March!
websister....my lord, you are so close to finishing off that elephant....plate is almost empty....you ARE an inspiration to us all.
morwenna....had supper tonight with Ade, Wendy and Abby. On Saturday, Ade, Wendy and I, and a couple others are hiking up to Chester Lake, and beyond to the Elephant rocks..gasp...(just caught the significance to websister's message!). It's a long hike, but we're doing it one step at a time. Wendy said you can email her for details if you're interested in joining us.
Edi....loved the posters, as usual. It is so wonderful to have you "back"! Off to bed soon.....golfing tomorrow!!
-
Websister.....your quiet determination and courage has been an inspiration to me from day one, and here you are.....almost done! Like Nihahi said, you've almost cleaned your plate!

Hope you are enjoying your SF getaway, Liefie! Thinking of you enjoying your walk on the Brooklyn Bridge......
Traii, awesome news about not seeing Onc until next March! Hope all is well with you, my Aussie friend....XO
Dakota......just sending you a ((hug)), and wishing you all the best.....XO
Nihahi, I am seriously bummed that I was not included in your fabulous-sounding hike......please send pics?????? I NEED a hiking fix.......:*{. Love ya, sister! (And say "hi" to Ade)
Morwenna, if you DON'T go (for me) I'll be sad!
Edi! Your crazy yank is starting to formulate a PLAN that may put me on your doorstep next summer.....starting to save pennies NOW! Will you bake me a beautiful cake if I come??? How far from Cornwall are you? I have so many wonderful women on BCO, that I would LOVE to meet them in person......I had so much fun with Nihahi........she's a gem! XO
I have stayed up way too late...melatonin is kicking in....trying to get some zzzzzz's that total more than 4 hours at a time......love to ALL, and forgive my forgetfulness with. Names......surgery was just a week ago.......
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie -

If only this ship could float ! would come and visit my sisters. x
-
Edi! Brilliant idea! You get to Amsterdam, take KLM to Portland, Oregon,USA a non-stop flight........we will drive up to Vancouver Island, B.C. And visit Liefie.....then turn east and Drive to Calgary, AB to meet up with Nihahi, Websister, , Morwenna, and BENNY......then, turn south and drive to Ft. Collins , Colorado (I have to say "Hi" to DD #4) then on to Denver to say Hi to Maria....then back to Oregon....... I am a road-trip maniac.....I LOVE driving! It would be totally crazy-it a very good way! You could bring your GD along.......would so love doing it! XO. (By the way....that ship you're on......I hate to be the first person to say it......but it won't go too far!
)
Love to all you wonderful women! -
where is benny????
Edi...maybe instead of riding lessons you should consider swimming lessons, if that's your idea of a boat
!! I do like the idea of Movie's road trip! When does the latin dancing start???? -
Edi - I'm with the others, might be best to trade that ship in for an airline ticket - or swimming lessons. Love your style!
From Facebook, Benny appears to be spending time with Diamond and possibly still battling insomnia. -
Hey there websister.....did you book that massage yet????
I don't do facebook. My new family doc just started me on melatonin, 3 mg at bedtime. Supposed to take it about 30 minutes before bed. I know it's too soon to know for sure, and maybe it's just wistful thinking, but it might be starting to help me a wee bit....you can pass that on to benny if you FB her, in case she doesn't check in here much.
-
Dammit! I've accepted an offer this morning for a free brunch date with a friend tomorrow!!!
And I'd much rather be hiking than eating, especially as I've started on my cut-the-crap-and-lose-the-weight regime!
I will email Wendy. Hopefully I can get on the next one.
I had a busy week. Drumming on Monday, Wart doc blasting six bells out of my leg on Tuesday, then three hours singing.
Wednesday two hours with nice nurse at BCSCF, (who decreed that I am "doing very well!"), Blood test showed INR is stable in target range, then I went to a session on cancer-related brain fog, followed by an hours walk with brunch friend.
Thursday walked two hours with brunch friend. Today walked an hour then took hubby to airport for his trip to Hawaii.
Next week I am starting an 8 week "Return to Work" course at Wellspring.
I'm feeling pretty fit and pleased with myself generally, and able to wear bra and foam boob I bought in UK for whole day now! Yey!!
A little nap in the afternoon doesn't go amiss though, especially in this hot weather!!
-
Nihahi - thanks for the reminder re: booking a massage. I needed a little gentle nagging. The days just seem to fly by - and have I mentioned how tired I have been?
I have Wednesday and Friday off next week, hopefully that will help and I can do a little catch-up with a few of these things. Good to hear re: melatonin and you - hope it will help
Morwenna - you sound like you are doing well, glad the foob and bra are working for you. I think a foam one might be nice, there are days the foob I have just seems too heavy and uncomfortable.
I enjoyed the Return to Work course -
Websister,
I got it from a store called Nicola Jane, in Chichester. It was only about 11 GB pounds, and is foam, but with a weighted centre, so it stays put better than a softee, but much more comfortable than the silicon one, and cooler by far.
I also bought a swimform (10 pounds something) and two bras. They have another store in London, and also an online store, and will deliver to Canada. I'm lucky that I had the chance to visit, and be measured properly, but now I will be happy to order online from them
-
Sorry you can't join us Morwenna....I'll post photos for you and movie.
-
Well we are flooding all over Colorado 350 people unaccounted for, in one county alone. My area is not near as bad as most places. Just got water in the sunroom. The destruction is unbelievable, houses gone, roads gone people are stranded with no way to get out.
Movie- Is your DD in Fort Collins fairing ok? -
Oh Maria....so sorry to hear about this. Floods like these are really impossible to comprehend unless you see the devastation.....prayers going out to you, your neighbours, your fellow Coloradians....Hoping some of the missing will be found safe as the searching goes on. Stay safe. (((((((((X))))))))))
-
I saw some of the footage Maria. It looks absolutely horrendous!
Having seen the Alberta floods we have a small sense, as Nihahi says, of the devastation floodwaters can cause ... but so many lost lives!! -
morwenna....lovely day for a hike. Only saw the tail end of one black bear crossing the road. We got up to the Elephant Rocks, just past Chester Lake. I'll try to post some photos tomorrow.
movie....again and always....you were in my pack!
-
Maria - so sorry to hear about the Colorado flooding and the missing people, glad to her you are OK. Take good care, adding my hugs ((()))
