That's beautiful Blue. I almost missed the bunny rabbit at the bottom. And the little doggie.

The above was taken from a site I enjoy very much...." I Love It When I Wake Up In The Morning and Barack Obama is President " and I really, really do.  I usually resort to expressing my agreement with you ladies here, or use something from one of these sites because they and you generally cut to the chase and get it all laid out in a nice neat package.  I am bad at finding the source material to back myself up....even when I know I'm right.  I also know when something or someone else is right.  If I don't have the gift of speechifying my thoughts and feelings....I'm sure no one here cares one whit.

If any of you might be wondering what brought this on....feel free to pm me.

Why are we getting news reports like this here:

    http://www.news.com.au/world-news/cia-has-been-arming-syrian-rebels-on-us-president-barack-obamas-orders/story-fndir2ev-1226718078048

Are the rebels going to hand over their chemical weapons? It really hasn't been determined that it was the Syrian goverment who launched the attack.

As our new Prime Minister said - it's baddies vs baddies and he is so right.

The CIA has always provided arms to one side or the other in every conflict.  Our arms manufacturing companies never see a down turn in business.  Their influence in Congress is right up there with Big Oil and Big Pharma.

Now "they" are in a tizzy because Obama put his feet on the desk. Supposedly the desk in the Oval Office has recently become sacred furniture and Obama has blasphemed.  Some wingnuts are saying he's sending "secret foot signals" of support to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Well he's not the first President to do so.

George W did so and no one accused him of sending secret messages of support to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Gerald Ford put his feet up on occasion.

Reagan put his butt on the desk.

Sort of makes you shake your head doesn't it ????  I mean, what is the point.  Anyone with more than two brain cells knows this President is almost totally sure not to have been the first to do something and there will be plenty of proof of it.  Some day these idjuts will get a life....they will need some help figuring out where to go from there though.

Suzieq - in fact the United Nations report will be made available within the next few days and it will say that Assad was indeed responsible for the chemical weapons attack that killed his own people in August I believe the U.N. Secretary General also mentioned in a statement that Assad was guilty of crimes against humanity.

    notself --
Foot signals?  Really?  I mean, REALLY???

Well, I suppose when every one of their conspiracy theories and "scandals" have all come to naught, it's necessary to scrape the bottom of the barrel.......pathetic, aren't theyTongue Out.

Sandy - all the UN report will do is confirm chemical weapons were used, not who fired them. I saw reports that it was the rebels. Remember, some of the rebels are Islamic Jihadists - not the kind of people I would help.

Susieq ......just as there are other reports claiming that Assad's military used the CWs -- which actually is much more likely, given that he and his military are admittedly in possession of them, the raw materials were provided to Assad by the UK, and Russia helped Assad store them.

Suzie - just checking, but do you get your news on Syria from a Rupert Murdoch enterprise in Australia?

Suzieq is correct.  Anyone could have used the gas.  The components of sarin are readily available and the cost is surprisingly small.  http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=better-killing-through-ch

Controlling Assad's chemical weapons does not mean that the opposition can't make the gas.  Just look up the history of sarin gas usage.

So.. the rebels used CW, trusting that Assad would get blamed, which is just as likely that Assad's forces used CW, trusting that the rebels would get blamed.  Okay then, were the rebels also responsible for the hundred thousand or so Syrians who were killed?  And are the million or so Syrians fleeing their own country and ending up in refugee camps actually fleeing because of the rebels?

Well, we don't know anything for sure, although I'm sort of betting Assad was responsible for using CWs ( considering that he has already admitted to having them in his possession).

At any rate, we in the west can only depend on the reports by various news agencies that we tend to trust, to know with any (questionable) degree of certainty what is really going on.  Which means we don't know, and maybe never will......

It doesn't matter what my souces are, but the fact that either side could have used it. I think we should stay right out of it.

You know, Saint Ronny could have taken a nap on the Oval Office desk and the righties would have been just fine with that. Yell

Given that either side in Syria would have had the will, if not the means to use chemical weapons, I am glad that there has been a diplomatic agreement to get rid of the chemical weapons.  The challenge will be to find them all but still, it seems a much better solution than bombing anybody. Next will be to get the overall picture calmed down using this first agreement as a platform (as President Obama said on tv this morning).

"Secret foot-signals to the Muslim Brotherhood?" REALLY??!!?!?! ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) is epidemic, isn't it? Really, I think that the Obamas should come out for breathing (deep breathing is good for you) and then all the nutters would suffocate. But, of course, all the other presidents who put feet or butts on the desk in the Oval Office were white. The people who say that about President Obama most likely believe black man should be in the Oval Office only if he is the janitor.

ETA: And I imagine the people who are babbling on about "secret foot signals" are the same people who call the Obama girls "trash" and "gangstas" - because haters gotta hate. What terrible people they are - calling little girls names and trying to make the country fail just because a black man is in the White House. They are so transparent.

The idea that anyone could criticize Michelle Obama for promoting hydration is preposterous, right? Well…

The first lady promoted her new “Drink Up” campaign earlier this week at the aptly-named Watertown High School in Wisconsin, and ever since it has been drawing far more criticism than she or anyone else in the Obama Administration could have predicted. She told students, “Drink just one more glass of water a day, and you can make a real difference in your health, for your energy and the way that you feel.” She cited “scientific evidence” that says our bodies perform better when they are “hydrated” than when they are even “just a little bit dehydrated.” And perhaps most importantly, Obama said, “The truth is, we all have a choice about what we drink and when we choose water, we’re choosing to be at our very best.”

    (from Mediaite)

    *************

So of course the conservative media had to uncover at least one scientist who says she's wrong about that so-called "scientific evidence"  because...ODS.
