Bren - whew!  I had one of those thingies on my back, circa 1978, and the Dude who excised it took SO MUCH skin, and pulled it together - I've never been able to truss a turkey since then   I'm on the every 6 months, when I remember, now it's mostly what I call sun & age related "barnacles" - which seemed to get worse during the Arimidex years - dry skin?  Who knows - just know the wonderful doc I see refills the "freezer" 'em off thingie b4 I visit...

PIP - we have to make you a wall poster: "Never try to teach a frog to sing."  full disclosure, I adore frogs, especially the wee little peepers who climb up the window screen on my bedroom windows in August nights. Don't know why, but there must be something about the light, moonflower/morning glory vines they like. SO cute, their little suction cup feet - and they're less than an inch long.  SO with great affection for frogs, just let the human species ribbitt, ribbitt away, and for the most part, love'em anyhow.

Then, Pip, there's always the "bless her heart" reponse, learned that from Southern Friends...tee, hee...never meant as a compliment

Sunny....wondering if your little frogs are some sort of tree frog.  We have very tiny ones here and they are called tree frogs.  We generally see the bigger "yard" frogs that like to spend time around the brick foundation of our house.....or places where there seems to be a small amt. of moisture.  We like them all.........the little tr5ee frogs by the way 'sing' quite loud and can in fact, make it pretty noisy outside.

Well, I'm going to have to put another something on my list of things to look up on the Internet in hopes of learning something.    Tree Frogs....I'm sure they are one of Mother Natures blessings.

PiP .. Don't know how you stay so calm.  Love the "bless her heart" posts!  Mr. Tim is very right wing and I absolutely refuse to discuss politics with him.  My mom is the same way.  Those two love their Fox news channel and really like talking to each other!  When Tim gets worked up about something on Fox news and tries to talk to me about it ... I just give him the "stare."  I won't be engaged in those conversations.

Sunnyflowers .. The spot on your back sounds just like one I have on my chest.  After it was stitched up and healed, it looks just like a bullet hole!  I've actually had people ask me if I was shot.  Ha!

Thanks all for your kind words about my booboo.  I'm feeling fine today.

Bren - shall we coin a "bless his heart" in Mr. Tim's honour?   No, he sounds like too nice a person...but I still remember visiting a friend in Atlanta years ago, and learning a lot about "bless her heart" - shudder...chills, etc.

Jackie - think my little night friends are tree frogs, cuz of the "suction" of their little feet.  ALL I see is the, ah, scuze me Ms. Frog, is the under side, cuz she's "sticking" to the screen with those adorable little suction pads.  Tho my book says 1 3/4 inches, and peepers are only 1 inch, MY tree frog is more the size of the peeper, but gray with suction cups like the tree frog.  Just know I ADORE the late in the month August nights when I see them on the window screen.  Only time I see them.  Of course we HEAR the peepers in Spring, and so welcome their songs, esp. after a hard winter.  Being OLD, and happily supplied with a life time of little batteries for my BTE Oticon purple hearing aids ( when I am old I will wear purple, remember?) - the peepers don't disturb my sleep as they do some folks who also like to sleep with their windows open, cuz when I put my Purple hearing aids to sleep, I can't HEAR them.  Still hear the occassioinal cricket, esp if she comes into my cabin - how can one little creature make THAT MUCH NOISE inside a little house?  whew....good thing they're good luck, or I'd be tempted to stomp her, if I could FIND her...

RL, thank you for the fashion update. There was a short article in our local paper on Sunday. Thought of Athena. Portland zoo lioness gave birth to 3 cubs on Sunday. I recall Athena wasn't keen on captivity but I'd like to think her spirit and grace lives on.

Thanks for the understanding and support ladies.  They have gone on their way now and there was no political discussion today.  The best part last night was when she slapped her leg, jumped up and yelled "Oh my God, you're a democrat!"  I explained that I was 'democratic' but as a Canadian I was neither Republican nor Democrat.  My opinions were not politically based.  They were based on my  interpretation of the things that I had read and seen.  She didn't much like that. Yes, bless her heart.

I like to think of Athena as one of those cubs.

I am praying that the douchebags on the Right fail completely with their plans to defund "Obamacare." My sister's poker buddy is fundraising for his cancer treatment.  He's 28. His parents maxed out their credit cards for his surgery. They held poker tournaments to raise money to pay down those cards. Now, to start chemo, he has to put up $2500 just to start.

Honestly, I'm so sick of hearing stories like this.  And it angers me to no end that instead of concentrating on getting well, he is worrying about finances. 

The "screw you, I got mine" mentality of the Right just wants to make me punch something.

I'm with you, G3. I want the people who oppose the Affordable Care Act (especially the ones who have pre-existing conditions and oppose it) to be thrown on the "mercy" of the private health insurance market and understand what it is REALLY like for the people who are ill and have nowhere to turn. Let THEM beg their friends and relatives for money and hold bake sales to get the funds for chemo. Anyone who has health insurance and a pre-existing condition (like breast cancer!) and opposes the ACA should be ashamed. The ACA doesn't go far enough, but it is better than what we have now.
