Thinking Out Loud.....

Hope your tests went well, Meece, and you get good results!
Work was kinda crappy this week, but I went out to dinner with "D"H and had a couple margaritas, so I feel better - lol.
Not on statins yet - what kind of SE's do you get? Joint pain? Like we need more of that, right?
One of DD's roommates is a section leader in band, so she's at school already - sent DD pix on FB of their suite - those kids are so spoiled!!!! (not that we're not paying for it...)
Linda - when does DS head off to school? DD goes Monday...we'll be bringing some stuff tomorrow night, I think, since one roommate is there already. DD can't check in until Monday. I hope she cleans up her pigsty of of room (here at home) tomorrow... not sure one day will be enough time. Been cat/house sitting and helping at high school band camp this week, so of course, didn't spend any time getting ready for school. I see many trips up to campus with stuff she needs and didn't bring in my future...
I hope you can spend more time at the shore, Ducky and the season doesn't end too soon!
Hope you are having/had fun with the kiddos, Joan. Did you have them just last night or longer?

Sandy, I'll be 62 in October
I had a mam July 1st, NED
Paps 2 weeks ago, haven't heard anything about that yet.
Had a follow up today cuz PCP put me on Citalopram 2 weeks ago due to depression from loosing my DH and being alone. I didn't like the SE, made me jittery, so she is trying me out on Paroxtine, I start that tomorrow morning.
Lost 23 pounds since April so she ordered a bunch of blood work, checking out liver, thyroid and some other things to make sure it is not health related, I told her that I am not eating and snacking as much as I used to. I all ready take meds for thyroid because of hypothyroidism she thinks maybe it is hyper due to stress, depression and anxiety. We will find out. I hope this med works, as time goes by I told her I don't want to be on any meds, she said in due time, you have been through a hell of a lot this year so far.
So keep your fingers crossed this works, I don't want to feel crappy when I visit DD and SIL.

Just wrote a post and it disappeared so am way too tired to redo-
will check in again.
Happy week end....
am exhausted from happy times with grandkids (aquarium all day) -
I've been having that same problem, Joan.
-
Joan, Meece. ...the site kept freezing on my IPad lady night, so I finally gave up.....ok this morning....

Who ever asked about those damn statins here is why I went off them without sayin anything to the dr.i have been on them for over 20yrs.tried everyone that is on the market and I was bettin my leg cramps along with pins and needles...and takin the CQ10.thats for the heart.anyway my cholesterol is very hi..with the meds it's close to 300.but last week I posted that I got out of bed and from the knees down I had those pins and needles and I went down.hit the box spring frame along with the wheel and I say enuf..I had to go for a. X-ray to make sure I didn't break any bones..
I'm goin go to a holistic dr.and see if they have anything thats natural.
Good morning everyone.
Here is a big huggg -
Hi Granny it was me who asked about the statins.. Wow I don't blame you for going off from them.. Hope the holistic Dr has something for you. I am sure they will have something natural you can try.....Glad you didn't break any bones...
Hugs back to you!!!!
Cindy AKA Squishy -
thanks for all you birthday wishes, am ok, just checking in....bbl
-
Granny.. COQ10 is not just for the heart...google it.......I tell you...at least 200mgs a day...it helps...I was crying in pain, and a nutritionist recommended the higher dose......statins deplete your coq10 severely, plus as we age we lose it too.....I was great till cancer and femara........can't imagine where I would be without coq10.,.,,,,probably in a wheel chair....
Seriously it helps and is not just for the heart, but even if it was .....your body needs it......
I had unstable plaque my cholesterol was not that high, it was the UNSTABLE part that did me in......... -
My dr. In NJ told me I must be on those statins along with the COQ10...she said they work together.
Gonna google it.
Thanks everyone for the feedback -
Sandy - Happy Belated Birthday - hope you are feeling ok.
Meece - how did your appt go? Are you doing ok?
Linda - are you still in line?
When does your son leave for JW?
Deb - it was nice to see you on with an update.
Joan - which grandchildren did you get to see?
Sheila - come out of hiding please
Chris - have the kids left for school yet? Are you going to be empty nesters now?
Ducky - hope you had fun at the shore - we were away this week and had fun.
My sister came out from Boston for a week and left yesterday. I hadn't seen her for so long. My daughter turned 30 this past weekend. We threw a great surprise party and she was shocked, she had to sit down for a minute. My kids are a day apart so it has been an expensive month for birthdays.
-
Not empty nesters - DS is a senior in HS this year. DD went to school today...trying to figure out what she's forgotten or still needs and cleaning up the mess left behind...(might need the National Guard for that)
She couldn't find a hat she wanted to wear this week during preseason for band. When we got home from dropping her off, I looked in the car she drove for the past year. Didn't find the hat, but did find partially drunk beverage containers - a Gatorade bottle, a Pepsi bottle, a Coke bottle, 3 glass Snapple bottles, 1 Minute Maid juice bottle, 13 water bottles(all partially drunk), a Pringles can, along with papers and bags, candy wrappers and a Nutrigrain bar that got broken up and some of it spilled in the back of the car. It didn't look that messy since most of that stuff was shoved under the front seats or under jackets and sweatshirts in the back. I hope living with her friends makes her learn to be responsible and considerate - neat and organized. I don't know how much longer I can stand her being a pig.
Oh and she couldn't connect to the wifi in the dorm because she didn't know her passwords - either didn't write them down and bring them or didn't know where she wrote them down. omg - seriously? And she wonders why I'm all up in her business - BECAUSE SHE ISN'T. Believe me - I'd rather not have to pay attention to all her stuff. I'm getting too old! lol
Linda - I hope getting your son ready to go to school is going better than things have gone here...
(((((TOL)))))
-
Thanks Diane, hope all is well...August is a big month for birthdays!!!
So glad I don't have to deal with the school thing anymore, just the grandchildren and that is easy, lol
-
Hi All..
I'm trying to end my pity party that I threw to myself few weeks ago
Health is fine but not a very happy person lately
No energy or desire to do anything
I feel ashamed when i read people's real problems
Those who are on STATINS...don't hate me because I never experienced any SE and I'm on them more than 10 years
Same thing with Femara no SE
I think I'm not normal...
Well I read TOL every day so I'm up to date

(((((((Sheila)))))))))
I'm glad your pity party is over.
We miss you here.
Don't even mention statins... -
I think I am a SE magnet.......lousy f/n medicine...and to thing I pay for this shit to feel lousy......one day I m going to get the guts to toss it all down the toilet, and LMAO as I flush, and watch it go into the river......
Don't know what I am waiting for......not sure which would take me out first......the heart attack....or the cancer......... -
(((((Sheila)))))
Chris, I would be relieved that they weren't alcoholic drink containers. Hope the transition is smooth for both of you.
Diane, so glad your party for your DD was a success! I had my 2 from CT at my house Thurs - Sat. They are still there -- i left them when DD returned; and I drove to NJ to be with my 2 GDs who are moving in 13 days. It's been 5 days straight of kids for me...Meece, was thinking of you...went to the aquarium Saturday and they had replaced the alligator pit with a large, deep koi pond...I had never seen one before....the fish are beautiful.

Hi, everyone.
Diane, my appointment was stressful to say the least. They called me back at 9:15 for my 9:30 MRI. They had a nurse from the hospital come over to start the IV. She tried four times (Once the needle was in, she fished around for awahile). The final time was after getting a drs order to start one in my foot. She got it in halfway, taped it and told the tech to just be careful when she injected the contrast. She left, ad the tech flushed the line and it had come out completely, so they called another nurse over from the hospital. She was very understanding and thought she could get it in the fleshy part of my hand, but that wouldn't work, so I finally let her stick my other arm. I am bruised and sore, but it is over for now. I was told that my onc would have the result in three business days, that will be Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
Sheila, so sorry you have been under the weather with MH. Keep your chin up.
-
Glad you are able to spend that time with the kids, Joan.
I'm glad too that the party was such a success, Diane - must have felt so good that is was a surprise and appreciated.
Sorry you had such a hard time with the IV, Meece.
Gentle (((((HUGS))))) to everyone whose meds are causing them so much pain and other SEs.
Alcoholic drink containers...didn't think of that - "D"H dumped them out and didn't mention an alcohol smell. As far as I know, she doesn't drink- she is the one who "babysits" the drunks - which she hates - there were times last year when she could have gone up to campus to hang out with friends, but didn't want to have to "babysit" - so she decided she'd rather just stay home. To my knowledge, her roommates don't drink - so I'm thinking her room will be relatively calm - unless the friends who do drink visit - not sure how that will go. Two of her roommates are seniors and her other roommate is a junior. they are nice girls. Lucky as far as that goes so far. I know there are many worse things that could be going on - but lack of responsibility and organization can get you in big trouble. I'm afraid of that for her. I didn't want her to learn the hard way, but I guess she's going to have to.
Your kitten is so cute, Sandy! I'm allergic so no kitties for me
(not sure if I already said that...) How are you feeling?
Glad your physical health is fine, Sheila. Hope your MH improves soon.
(((((TOL)))))
-
OMG Meece...all those needle pokes...the hand and the foot is so sensitive..I bet you are glad thats over with.
Good luck with the results.please keep us posted.
Joan and the grands...that's gonna be your new name.lol.I no u are lovin it.
Ill be back. -
I was very glad it was over with until I got home from work this evening to find a voicemail that my onc's office wants me to call. I am stressing that they need to redo the scan or something. You would never finder a womanwho stayed more still in an MRI than I did last Friday. I didn't want a re-do!!!
-
Meece it is so frustrating, the foot is out of the question for me...I am so sorry for all the bruises, did you get the results.
-
LOL Diane, nope, we got the duplicate license! Teenagers. I have been at Chapaquoit!!
I hear you Meece. I hope it's nothing!!
Love the kitty too!
Heading to vaca on Saturday. I hope you all have a wonderful week!
-
Have a nice vacation Makratz...
It's fugly hot all over...I hope you are lookin for the heat!!!!!! -
((((EVERYONE))))
All my blood work came out normal, pap is normal, so the loss of weight is diet related. I'm just not snacking as much as I used to. I stop at a farm stand and get fresh veggies on the way home from work and there is a Farmers Market every Thursday in the center of my town, most of them take credit cards, they have the little thingy that attaches to their Iphone and swipe. I take Simvastatin 80mg, no SE, Levothyroxine, no SE, mild SE with Arimidex, done with that now for over a year.
-
Glad your tests were normal and weight loss is just from better eating. (((((HUGS)))))
Still waiting for the band to post pix of the kids working hard during preseason...
They have cut hours again at work. Nice to have the extra time, but makes me wonder about how many hrs I'll have this fall. I really don't like this job... I kind of hope they keep giving me few hours so I have something to motivate me to leave... Not that I have anywhere to go...
The recruiter I met with in early June left me a message. I don't check my house voicemail every day - and neither does "D"H so I didn't get his message right away...then I didn't call back - was working longer hours then and didn't really have time right after I got his message. I suppose I should have called and left a message after hrs and asked him to email me - or told him now is not a good time for me to change jobs...He probably won't help me now that I blew him off like this. I am such a loser. But I didn't know what to say to him. I really should try to get another job - but this job has certainly not helped me gain any confidence... so stressed - all the time - and really shouldn't be. I think my "baseline" stress level is really high so anything actually stressful pushes me over the edge. this sucks.
-
So far I have the ammo results and they were normal. Whew!
-
Linda another vaca?
breathe Chris...
deb glad all is normal...

-
Yay for Linda's endless summer of sun
Chris - I think you should still call. You have nothing to lose.
Deb - So glad to hear you are healthy and well.
Meece - I hope the rest of the test results are good too.
Sandy - I wish easy breaths for you today and every day.
Sheila - come out of the cave, we miss you.
Joan - hope you are having fun with the grands.
Ducky - are you heading to the shore for Labor Day?
If I missed you, it's because my memory stinks. Hugs to all (((TOL))).
-
Rain....yes, and then almost time to close up.....depends if my one daughter continues to do a couple Sept. weekends........if not Labor Day will be last "fun weekend"............just another to close down and that It......boo hoo...
