was talking to lady on plane yesterday. she said there was anti bc pill outnow. googled it. turned out pill is tamox and or another aromase inhibitor(i think)

i did the Gail Study for my sister. her chances are up a little, but notmuch. Inever want my sister to go through the same shit as we have been through. even though I am BRACa neg, there could be some other gene that caused my bc.

.i am wondering if she should consider tamox. i really have no issues with it.

what kind of doc should she see to prescrbe or discuss it? Her GP will be clueless. should she us a MO?

it seems the Gail study is weak in some areas. doesnt ask about bc pills or weight or invetro or lifestyle-drinking

I told her about link with vit D. and encourage omega 3 supplements

what else can we do?

I think I heard somewhere that Tamoxafin can be used as a preventative. Sounds iffy to me - why subject yourself to all the possible side effects just in CASE you get cancer.

Stay thin, exercise as much as you can, eat healthy foods (no meat or dairy products)   that's what I try to do. However, I've had cancer twice, both primaries 29 years apart so there is no guaranty.

I think so - probably didn't hurt that's for sure. Keep trying with your sis--

Novlene Williams-Mills, a 30-year-old Jamacian track star and Olympic medalist, had breast cancer...and a double mastectomy just after the London Olympics. Being thin, exercising, and eating broccoli aren't going to save you. Researchers are only now scratching the surface on the role played by genes regarding cancer. I think that genes--and the immune system--are where the answer lies.

I dont know her stats, but bet she is much earlier stage than me. stage 1 is much different than stage 3.

Diet (being vegan or near as I can) & exercise give me the most hope for no reoccurance.

I am a former marathon runner and my mom always believed all the training caused my first breast cancer. Then she got it too, so----
