Thank you I was looking at that in the brochure today. That's the biggest volume for that size right ? Think I want to be a little bigger tho, but wit fat grafts that will give me more volume.

    Mamatwinz,

That is what my PS is recommending for me. Can I ask what your height/weight/ribcage and maybe what your cup size is? I'm trying to figure out what to expect if I do go with them.

I was a 34B/C but they had to go slightly bigger in order to fill out the volume.  I haven't re-sized myself since my incisions are still healing, but I feel like I'm closer to a C/D.  I had 335cc put in my right and 215cc in my left to match my Unimx.  It's pretty symmetrical.

I know this is a really stupid question but how do I measure to find out my cup size?

I was told to go to a dept store where they have a good bra dept and ask for help in sizing.  Are you planning to wear an underwire eventually?  The thought makes me cringe right now but I think it would help with support.  I'm definitely bigger and they seem heavy!

    Connie,

Not stupid at all! Here's one way of doing this that seems to be pretty accurate: First, make sure you're using a flat, cloth-type tape measure and measure around your ribcage just under your bust, keeping the tape measure as straight as possible and firm but not overly tight. This will give you your band size. Typically if it is a 27-28 you are a 30" band (as I think that is the smallest a band goes). If 29-31, then a 32" band. My ribcage is a 29 & I am pretty consistently always a 32" band. If you get an odd number then round up to the next even number, ie: 33 will be a 34" band, 35 a 36" band, etc.

Second: Measure around your back, around the fullest part of your bust, which usually falls midrange on your chest. Just use the tape to go up or down slightly to find where your fullest point of projection is. It doesn't matter if this number is even or odd as long as it is a whole number. ie, if you get 35.5 then round up to 36. The general rule of thumb here is to round up.

Third: Subtract the first measurement (your band size) from the second measurement (bust). A one inch difference is an A-cup, two-inch a B-cup, three-inch a C, etc.

So, (for example), if your ribcage measures 33" and your bust 36" then you'd be a 34 B. (Rounding up your odd number to 34 first (for band sz) and then getting a two-inch difference by subtracting 34 from 36. Hope this makes sense and helps. Of course there will be variations in fit depending on style and manufacturer of bra.

yes, currently 425 is largest in round base,,but there is oval base too that has higher cc.. i was told that sientra will be coming out with larger sizes in round base..but not sure on time, etc.

I am 5ft 2 and a half..i was about 120# at time of surgery in april..am about 113 now..goal for me is 110#.  ribcage 28..my TEs were allergan 13 width.  pre surgery cup was small b..i had someone else pm me about my size now and i have not gotten measured at nordstroms..can u believe it?  I was all anxious to do so after surgery and not so much now. I found a bali bra that does not go by cup size that i have come to love..and just busy with work and the twins..i can try to go this weekend if it would help.  :)  For what i was looking for, I feel I am a nice C cup..all projection, not width.  I did not fit into any medium bikini tops because foobs too big..i did buy two mediums that had great coverage one large coverage bandeau bra that i probably could have gotten a large in, but the clasp on back was too loose around my ribs..I also found a full coverage bikini halter top by champion (clearance at target) in a medium, but they didn't have a large to try and that one was tie back so it worked.   I would guess I would be a C or D cup in regular bra?  Let me know if you guys need any other info or any other questions that I can share my experience!  :)

okay istared tonight after shower..i think i am a c..or what i see as a c...eye of the beholder, right?  i just dont feel little on top and big on bottom half anymore.. :)  they look very natural on me/my body but i am not boobielicious!  i can send bra or tank pick.. recovery was tougher thsn i thought..i have cleavage in tanks, bra, but nit stripper cleavage.. i think a lot has to do with surgeon as well and if he or she really understands your needs...and surgical skill?  i am scheduled for revision 8/6 on left for tad lift and tad shift midline out of my pit more..i may not do it as i am feelung good n nit sure if worth another surgery..i see ps 7/24 to re eval..we also talked about fat grafting because i am so bony and csn see where imolant starts, but others say they dont.  my plan was to try the allergan style 45s in 500cc and other ccs in that range..the sientra was the plan b as he and i didnt know uf 425 would be big enough for what i wanted..in OR 45s didnt work for me because of paper think skin and no fat..so that made my choice for me to go with the sientras.  i did tell my ps that morning, to not make me boob girl, to do what looked right/propotional and natueal for me...i am too short n smsll to havr a huge chest and also was wortied about the weight of implant..yes, i worried about everything!!!  pics may be helpful so os knows what your idea of c or d cuo is..i think my sis has d cup..she says small c!!  good luck guys!!

    Mamatwinz,

Thank you so much you have been sooo helpful! Based on what you've said I'm a little more hopeful about the sienta 425s. I was really worried I would have absolutely no cleavage like I do now and my PS told be he thought I would be a b, but surely if you think your at about a c or a d then I would a least get back to my original c cup. I don't want huge boobs but I did want to at least get back to my original size which was not large at all, 32 b/c. I tried to call sientra and ask when their larger sizes might be coming out or if they had any in trail but they had no clue about what I was talking about...haha I talked to two different people and they just kept telling me we have bigger cc ones in the oval but I tried explaning those don't have as much projection as the round style even in the bigger cc but they still didn't understand so I think I'm going to call back today and try to talk to someone else. As for the picture that is completely up to you. Thank you again for all the info it was very helpful!

I had the Seintra HP 550 oval I had them switched out on July ninth to Allergan 410 style 640MF they fit my breasts much better so far though one breast will always be a little smaller then the other due to having the cancer on the right..The Seintras were nice but they rotated and I had a lot of rippling on the good breast the left..they are soft and natural looking but mine were rotating east and west with quit a gap in center causing pain on the right like it was sitting on a nerver..only a week out with the allergan so everything is ok...

nut..was pm with bc mbr and she said that sientra didnt think round base high projection would be bread n butter vs ovals and they r realizing that round base is in demand, but need mire sizes..i am not a small d..i think i am a c..in my eyes..again so much personal opinion on sizes or what a cup is..i see a d when i see my sis and she sees a c, her bra is a c i think, i will ask her..she is very tiny so i think she looks bigger than me in foobs..i at one pount yhought i was a big b..i guess i just need to get measured to know..if u want pic just pm with email..i am visual so i researched pics and would guess on size and was shocked sometimes on how wrong i was..so know that about me since i have not been officially sized !  i had told my ps to move foobs in closer and he said he can only move in as far as my pec muscle is..my boobs had a gap pre diagnosis..and do now, but ps did mive in closer..the left just needs a tad more now i think..foobs also look bigger on me with weight loss.. :)  i wear a bali all citton support/sportish back closure bra which gave me more cleavage than my post op front closure bra..i have a post op pic i think still too..i was goung to post on puc forum, but couldnt resize my photo..

Thank u mamatwinz I originally wanted to b a full C or small D But went beyond my 400cc TE fills and now I'm thinking about getting too 500cc in them. Before chemo I was about the same size as you 5'3 and 118 pounds. Now I am 30 pounds larger all n my thighs hips and back side so I think I could go larger to keep a hourglass shaped vs a pear shaped. And I am not on the picture forum (I will try) but I would welcome any pics that you would like to share. And I hope larger volume sizes will be available for my far away surgery date of Nov. I like the dimensions of the round base.

Connie, I too had double mx and direct to implant with gummy teardrop (sientra) on July 17th. I think I will be happy with them but did not want to be bigger than a B cup and I had the 370 implanted. I also am from MI. Hope you are feeling better about yours. I am surprised how many go through more surgeries because they are disappointed. I still have drains in and don't even want to consider the possibility of another surgery even though I did well with mine...it is a lot to go through.

Mom, thanks I am doing pretty good but still taking it easy. They are not heavy to me. They feel firm but are getting a little softer everyday. I think they will always be firm but I think I will get used to them. I don't remember where I posted what some was under the implant style/size page. My size was 370 and the largest is four something and I doubt I am larger than B cup which is good with me. I am 5 7 and about 127 lbs with rib 32 but have always bought 36As. I am happy with the size and shape. The upper part has slight indent appears like slight muscle contractions. He plans on doing some fat grafting to that area. He did use Alloderm as a sling. I do gentle massages to them many times a day and it seems to help. Hope some of this helps with your decisions, it can get so confusing.

Happy friday ladies!!   I am all set to go next week and I am not going with the gummies I had a talk with my PS and he said that he thought the sailine would be better for me so i decided to go with them instead of the gummies i hope I made the right choice it is all a lot to consider I never thought I would be going through this in the part of my life I feel like everything has been on hold since November when I had my bmx.  You never know what life throws you untill it hits  you in the face.

Hope you got those drains out by now Cmd!!

    Trina25,

Hey I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I have yet to find out whether they are or are not making bigger sizes in the shaped round implants or not. Every time I called I got the run around and transferred to different people who didn't know anything. I'm still looking into it though, if I find anything out I'll make sure to let you know.

Hi Ladies! WOW ..... so much to think about! I am waiting for the insurance company to ok my procedure. I had a bmx done almost 20 years ago due to serve fibrocsytic disease. Long story but here I am 20 years later with capsular contracture and in pain again. My PS recomends out with the old and in with the new.......(HA HA) her words. I am amazed at how much has changed in 20 years. Looking for some advice please! Thanks

    Hello Ladies,

I am new to this forum and astounded by the wealth of information here (which I am hoping not only to benefit from, but also contribute to).  I had a double NSM in May with direct-to-implant (no expanders) recon using Alloderm and Allergan 410FFs (335 each).  I am on the thin side - 5'4" and 108lbs - and was a small 34B preop with little ptosis.  Since I am fairly athletic and did not want to go any larger, my PS thought the 410s would be a good option for me.  While I had no major complications other than almost losing the left nipple, and am relatively happy with my cosmetic results (though that changes depending on the day - not to mention the light and my posture), I have a few concerns and observations at 3mo. postop:

    (1) The gummies are indeed very firm, and in me, largely immovable (they feel like they are velcroed into place).  This has taken some getting used to.

    (2)  Because they are not very squishy, I cannot "correct" the minor variations in size, shape and symmetry that I have (my left pocket is slightly narrower thereby causing more projection) using standard bra hydraulics. :-) This also means that I cannot find a bra that fits both sides, which are about a half cup size different.  So it's been me and my Ahh Bra.

    (3) I still cannot sleep comfortably on my side (or stomach, which is like laying on grapefruits), but this is slowly improving.  I'm sure the drains (which I had for 10 days) had something to do with that, although the 410s do seem wider than than other implants.

    (4) They tend to be "room temperature," meaning that they feel cool to the touch when the air around them is cool.

    (5) I have visible internal Alloderm suture lines (feels and looks like a baseball stitches under the skin) from the armpit to the nipple on both sides (and on one side, from the nipple to the interior/sternum), which I am told will soften in time.  I was not expecting this and wonder if anyone else has had this?

    (6) Although the 410s are marketed with the promise of less rippling, I do have minor rippling on the upper right interior/sternum side, which is more pronounced when I slouch (as I normally do) and major rippling when I bend over.  Similarly, there is a clear step-off at the top of each foob when I raise my arms.  I've just learned not to look (or, just look and laugh) when I bend over to shave my legs in the shower.

I am wondering if anyone has had the same issues and how things have improved, if at all, either in time or after revision/refinement (and if the latter, what type?).  I am scheduled to meet with my PS for my 3mo follow up and to discuss possible revisions/refinements (he has specifically mentioned fat grafting to address the volume/rippling issues), but he has encouraged patience and views the 3 mo. mark as the earliest point at which he evaluates cosmetic results.  Like many people here, I am reluctant to pursue cosmetic revisions when the initial result was decent and the primary objective of the surgery was to reduce my cancer risk.  That said, it seems that "one-step" procedures are often not, and I'm the one who has to live with these things.

Thanks in advance for your insights.  I hope my experience has been helpful and good luck, good thoughts and good vibes to you all with your own journeys.

P.S.  I would be happy to post photos of my results if somene tells me how to do that!
