Ok ladies, I have a photo collage of my itty bitty party created and it's on photobucket called "No Pity Party". It looks like I can download it directly to this site and I tried, but I can't get it to work. If someone knows how to do it, I would be happy to send them the photo via email.

    Thanks!

Ok for those that inquired about the juicer. I've decided to send back.  I had gotten the Fusion Juicler and what I juiced the first time went well.  However, it doesn't work well with veggies (which is whole point)..you have to keep alt fruit and veggies..and carrots or anything the least hard gets stuck. I have just spent the last hour with this thing and unmagical words are loudly running through my head.  I'm going to wait until have bit more money and get Montels.  Or I will probably go eat a donut.

CK: my vote is for the donut.

Heather and Janet, from what I'm reading from you both, it sounds like eye lashes fall out at the end if chemo? It looks like you both started early in the year. Janet, it's very encouraging to know that they seem to come back fast. Thank you for sharing that. Mine are still in but I have only had 2 chemo treatments so far.

Rhody, glad you don't have to have rads. Drains are a pain but they will be out before you know it. You are so close to crossing that finish line. Hang in there, Girl. You are stronger than you know.

Catey, I was petrified for my first fill, considering my PS was not able to get any saline in there during surgery (originally small breasted with not a lot of skin to work with) but it wasn't bad at all. You may feel a tiny pinch when they insert the syringe but that's about it. You will rock this.

Once again, I had restless arm syndrome for hours lady night resulting in another bad night of sleep. I see my PS for another fill tomorrow so I'm gonna bring it up with her.

Hope all you wonderful ladies have a relaxing evening! Hugs to you all and prayers, too. :)

Just popped back on to see what everyone is doing.... and I see cyndie is juicing donuts.  :-)

Ann... I would love to see the photos from your party!!

Second chemo down and not feeling nearly as nauseous as the first time!  I am exhausted to the point I feel drunk...very strange feeling.  Did I mention to you girls that I shaved my head?  Forgive me if I am repeating myself but I can't remember if I mentioned it.  Sunday night my girlfriend came over and shaved it for me....I have (had) mounds of hair and I couldn't take it coming out in the shower anymore.  I'm waiting for it to come completely out...it's a mess everywhere.  It was emotional for me but also was a big hurdle crossed off my list of things I didn't want to do.  I still can't picture myself completely bald.  I came down stairs wearing my wig and my boys didn't notice it was one.  My youngest son said.... even without hair you are still going to be beautiful!!!  Awww... made me smile.... I told him he was my favorite.... Just kidding!!Wink

Annie- Yep, my eyelashes and eyebrows were the last to go. I also just lost half the nail on my thumb and my last chemo was april 27th. On the bright side, my hair is growing back in nicely although a bit more grey than it was.

Lisa-Im glad to see that you are up...how very sweet of your son!  My sister constantly jokes with her kids about "you're my favorite" everytime one is sweet...now they say ...Yeah Yeah...lol..

All I can say right now is that you ladies all ROCK! I love your cheerful posts, and your support for everyone. I need that today...even though I know things are looking up I am feeling very discouraged for some silly reason. Just tired I think. But I see what you all are putting up with and I feel selfish.

Hmmm....juiced donuts. What flavor? Jelly donuts are my favorite...and the jelly has fruit in it! I would think that blueberry jelly donuts would be especially high in anti-oxidants! We do have a friend who has been doing a lot of juicing to help his prostate cancer--I will ask him what kind of juicer he uses and how it works out for him.

Annie, do you think the restless arm syndrome is related to your treatment? Or maybe you have a vitamin deficiency? B-vitamins are good for the nervous system. Low potassium can also affect your muscles...I know that quinine (a.k.a. tonic water) can be helpful sometimes for restless legs.

Hope you all have a good evening....thunderstorms here (again and again...every day in the summertime it seems!)

Cyndie, I like your new avatar. Your puppy is so cute!

Janet, thanks for calling me Wonder Woman. I appreciate the vote of confidence! Of course, I think we are all wondrous women. After all, we are all well on our way to winning this war!

BTW, I got my drain out today. Yay! Tomorrow I go see the GYN about other issues. I'll probably have to have more testing before they make a recommendation, but we'll get the ball rolling.

To all of you doing rads, or chemo, or both, I wish I had something encouraging to say. You are an inspiration to me.

Martha-I would love to hear what kind of juicer your friend has! Montels looks like a blender but actually juices the whole thing so you get peel and all..no leftover pulp.==I am so sorry you are feeling down today! Are you sleeping well? It seems like my worst days were when I had no sleep.  I hope you have a happier Smile day tomorrow.

Steph-OMG!  Yeaaaaaaa about the drain!!! I know that feels soooo good!.....Thanks about Katie/avatar..I just pushed the chair out and onto her paw..HUGE DRAMA..of course ending in loads of kisses and milkbone for her trauma (she was fine, but beieves every bath, ear rinse, mom stepping on her..gets treat.lol)

Im off to bed. Not so good day. Healthwise ok..but everything I did today went wrong...starting with you know what..I hope everyone sleeps well!

Cyndie, we have two golden retrievers. They love their milkbones, but I try to give them ice cubes for treats as much as possible. Neither one needs the extra calories. *grin*

Martha and Cyndie, I hope you both get a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow.

Steph, WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!  Party time!  So glad your drain is finally out!!!

Heather, did your nail hurt when it came off?  I don't think I'm out of the woods on that.  Nails are still feeling weird, and I'm flushing another nail with peroxide (middle finger, opposite hand from last time)

Janet- Surprisingly no, it didnt hurt. Its like the top few layers peeled off halfway down my nail. I have to be careful of it now because if I touch it, its tender.

Heather and Janet, thanks for that new piece of data. OK, So let me get this straight. In addition to my hair (which is all gone), my eyebrows, my eye lashes and my boobs (left the nest in 5/17), my nails are gonna fall off too!!!??? I have freckles all over my body. Why can't chemo make them fall off instead??? This is a 2 donut moment. One would never be enough.

So sorry I didn't get back on the board. Talked with ps on the phone that night. Not much help. He was in surgery all day yesterday so I did not get to see him till today and I was beside myself with the pain. Ps thinks drain was either through a nerve or pinching one. He pulled it today and now I have to wear 2 ace bandages with pads around where drains were for 3 days. The longer these are on, the more they suck but oh so much better than the drain. I go back in a week and we shall see if it is behaving and does not change back to a seroma. No using my right arm for a week. Of course I am right handed.

Juiced donuts sound good to me too. I like the cream filled ones.

I want to see pictures too.

Ck, get a good night sleep because tomorrow is another day!

Sleep is such a cheap commodity that is just so darn hard to get. One day we will have an over abundance. ( thinking happy thoughts )

I think we all need to place our right hand over our left shoulder and pat ourselves on the back! Every step we take gets us closer to getting cleavage and being cancer free. We have accomplished so much.

Big cyber hugs and prayers to each and everyone of you.

Isellrejer, I am so very glad he took that nasty drain out. Going through a nerve or hitting one-you must have been in agony. I hope you are able to rest tonight and tomorrow is a new day.

Gonna try and sleep now. Prayers going up for y'all. :)

Steph.. whoo hoo.. on the drain out!

so today.. I had an ity bity pity party.. seems to be a regular occurance around my house :(

my port was placed today and I must say.. OUCH! I guess I have a low pain tollerance.  The pulling, the tugging.. the needles.. the stitches.  It was just too much for me. It turned into an emotional day.  Thank goodness for the wonderful nurses to help me get through the procedure.  I'm glad I got it.. don't get me wrong.  I just HATE needles.  *sigh* just one more hurdle to cross on the road to kicking butt!

Love n Hugs to you all.  I thought of each of you today.. even if i don't write as much or am here as much.  You are ALL in my daily thoughts and prayers for a peaceful and non eventful day.. unless it's a good event!  <3

Good Morning All-  I had wonderful night sleep/woke up all sore from not moving much..but NOT COMPLAINING...Its amazing the power of, at least, 7 hours of constant sleep!!   OH!  A funnie...saw a pin on Pinterest..."Why do they call it beauty sleep when you wake up looking like a troll!"...lol..thats me..I get up ...look in mirror..and think my husband must love me!

Melainie=I am going to do that icing...not sure if it works..but Ive read good things about it. Exactly how does one achieve bags of peas or whatever lying on your feet and hands that long..and doesn't the cold start to hurt?

Melissa-Aww..I hope you are better..I can tell you the port pain for me was the worst!  Hurt worst than Lumpectomy, MX, seroma, drains, lymph removal all..that was horrible..and I understand it knocking you down.  3 days..I read that in other boards..and its true. 4th day was pain almost gone. So remember NARCOTICS...Im sure you won't forget..Prayers go out that this day is way better for you.

Jerri-So glad they got that out!  And so glad you posted!  Ive been worried and thinking about you ever since your last post.  Me n Paw were about to load up the truck and come find you down in Georgie! LOL..--- It'll get better.  They are right, time does heal.

Today I get stitches out..was suppose to be yesterday, but when I called to confirm appt..somehow it wasn't in. She offered me to come yesterday and be worked in or today..I, wimp I am, took today.  I know its not going to hurt..but hate tugging pressure feeling..its freaky.

Oh one more thing..my husband says that I was trying to cram too many hard veggies in the shoot and should do one at a time..Im going to try one more time.  Course now all ya'll have made me want a Krispy Kreme!  Do ya'll have those donut shops?  Da Bomb!  Dunkin Donut came to town 5-6 years ago..opened 9 stores in our city..all out of bsn within 2 years..they don't put sugar in their donuts I don't think..not as good.

Ck, it wasnt that hard. I carried a little cooler with me to chemo. I had popsicles and ice in there and during the adriamycin cycle i would suck on ice and stick my fingers in the ice. I think at first I used baggies of ice on my toes but I stopped that. The adriamycin or red devil is pushed in by hand and doesnt take long. Remember the object is to just close the capillaries with cold temp to stop the chemo drug from getting to your nails so when it gets too cold just move your fingers around and then do it again. I also did it with the taxotere which took aboutan hour to infuse. I didnt do it with the cytoxin. My big thing was the ice in the mouth because I did get mouth sores or thrush.

Sweetpickle did you get taxol and taxotere at the same time? even if you got them on separate days that is double taxenes and probably why your nails suffered.

My onc nurse said to paint your nails and it helps and I also used teatree oil on my nails so it might have helped.

    Good luck

Mel- No, right after finishing A/C I was suppose to start Taxol. I did the first Taxol and had such horrible bone pain that they decided to switch me over to Taxotere every three weeks. So I only had one infusion of taxol. I wish I had done the ice thing. We traveled two hours to get to treatment so it would have been worthless to try and bring ice. I did chew ice though while getting tratments and i think that helped some.

I am soooo craving donuts now, going to eat a protein bar to stave off my craving! LOL

My nails are still holding on.  Just feel weird.  I'm hoping they grow out before falling off and trying to keep them trimmed somewhat.  I've been having a shellac manicure every 6 weeks (it holds up at least 2 weeks but then it starts growing out but it's better than nothing and didn't want to overdo it with manicures)  My nail beds look fine, the nails have just lifted some.

CK, glad you got some sleep!

Isellrejer, glad the port is out and the pain is better!

Heather, hope the pain is better today.

Rads today, then see the RO.  Swim meet tonight adn of course its calling for storms.

When I first was reading, I thought oh Im not going to get red devil, so thought maybe safe..but then you said about taxotere which I am..sighh..How many rounds did ya'll have..he has ordeed four for me.  The infusion RN said that she thought Id be ok..nail wise, but considering she had never heard of icing..I don't believe her..and I know that nothing generally goes easy for me.  HOWEVER, as I've had my fair share of ISSUES..I believed somewhere in Karma land the Karma Gods OWE me!..lol..Im going to do anyway..and on the issue of the 4 treatments..its seems people in the chemo boards are mainly doing 6.  Now I do not want to do anymore than I have to, but concerned that Im not going to get enough to kill all rogue cells.  Still waiting on this onc nurse to call me back about the test.

Four isnt too bad.  I had 12.  Tongue Out

Although I haven't had any severe reactions or problems with what they've given me over the last 7 months, they've thrown the works at me.  I SOOO can't wait for this crap to be done.  Of course I'll still check in with you all.

Ck, I had 6 a/c/t. Sometimes they do them separate like just taxotere for four cycles then cytoxen for four cycles then adriamycin for four. Sometimes they do two chemos at the time. I wouldnt worry about getting enough I would be celebrating getting a reprieve from two cycles. They will do bloodwork and scans to verify that everything stays stable. You will be sick of constantly getting bloodwork and tests done. lol Ck I think I have asked you this before but my chemo brain wont let me recall the answer. You have mets listed in your sig. Do you have mets?

    Healing hugs to all

Ok ladies.... I'm not liking what I'm reading.  Losing my nails...that's the last straw for me.  I'm going to have a temper tantrum!!!!  The nurse has me suck on ice during my A/C treatments but had no idea I should be putting my fingers in ice too.  How the hell do you put your fingers in ice and feed yourself ice at the same time?  I'm with Annie....how much does a person have to take?  You lose your boobs, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows AND sounds like you gain weight....It's a sick joke that doesn't end.

My mom came over yesterday and I forgot to tell her I shaved my head....I think I took a few years off her life!! She tried to cover her shock (poorly :-) ).... I guess I'm at the point now I don't care what people think.  It is so damn hot here that if I could walk around naked if I could!!!

Sorry for the rant but I don't want to lose my nails and I'm being a baby!!!!
