    Ok, I think I spoke too soon on the Arimidex.  I have one of those awful headaches that I used to get with my period, like your brain is too big for your skull and you don't want to bend over or turn your head fast in case it bangs into the side...

    Sigh....I'm drinking diet Pepsi now to see if the caffeine helps.  Aspirin and giant glasses of water have done nothing.

    Pbrain I used to get headaches all the time when it was really humid out… and I assume you are having the same weather. I found Exedrin the best for  headaches (aspirin with acetaminophen). Granted if you just took some aspirin don't OD on it.

    Chic:  Glad you are doing better.

    PBrain:  I'm with Lago, it is probably sinus'.

    I had an echocardiogram this morning (my 4th). For the first time, after going through the whole test the tech asked if she could put in some contrast, to get better pictures. Now I'm nervous, thinking it was not good and she wanted to be really sure... Of course she doesn't give any hints of the results. I see my MO on Thursday and will presumably get the results then. Anyone else have this sort of thing happen with your echocardiogram?

    Patin, I just did.  The tech said she needed contrast and I asked if that was because I was overweight.  She said no, it is usually just because of how your heart is positioned in your chest.  This was my 4th echo and the other techs have never needed contrast (which is just shaken up saline--the bubbles help them see better).

    I wouldn't worry too much.  I honestly think it is really just due to the tech's echo skills.  When they tried to get the saline in they couldn't find a vein and the poor phlebotimist finally gave up on me.  Because they weren't sure the doctor could read the echo well enough they told me they might call me back.  They didn't, so a cardiologist read it and my LVEF had gone down by 20% so now I'm on a Herceptin holiday.  I don't know if I feel those results are that valid though.  I don't think the tech could get the images well enough because I don't think she was that experienced yet?  We'll see.  I go for another echo in 5 weeks.

    So like I said, don't worry.  Wink

    U'r all great, echo, MUGA, scan. petscan, MRI, ultra sound, nuclear testing. bone scan,biopsy, that other kind of biopsy, X-ray and that's about the ony one I know exactly what's going on An x-ray and I'm sure there are more..

    Thanks for the reassurance, PBrain, but...you sort of bear out my theory. First time they wanted to do contrast on you, and your EF had gone down. I guess there's no point in worrying about it now. I've had a different tech each time - this one didn't seem especially young or anything. (Of course, they all seem young to me...)

    Ok don't think this is anything to worry about but you never know. I hope it's just muscle..Upper thigh hurts on left leg. Sore when I walk don't think it's bone pain. See doctor Wednesday. Started hurting today. Sore but not a deep sharp pain like you get with the Neulasta

    Patin, remember the echo is read by a human and not a machine, so I don't think my EF went down at all.  I think the doctor just couldn't see well enough to determine what it was because they couldn't get the bubbling saline into me.  I betcha when I go back in a few weeks for the next echo, I'll be normal. 

    As my mother says, don't borrow trouble.  If your EF went down, it should come back again.  Exercise helps to regain it :-)  Keep us posted.

    Patin even the Drs. look so young to me I've actually asked to see their License--my Card. gy says well there's one on the wall and I said no U'r Driver's License. They all seem so young and the women are so pretty and men handsome--I don't remember any of that years ago. All the Paramedics I've seen can do a calender I hve 2 woman Drs. that are young and beautiful and I've relly asked them if they did all their homework or did they get by with being so pretty. Of course they dn;t mind because to them I;m this old lady with no doubt dementia.

    OMG Moon I've said that to the paramedics it must be a requirement to look like chipendale dancers. It sure makes u'r b/p go up and nheart beat more so I've told them it's their fault.

    camillegal my anesthesiologist for my BMX looked so young my dh asked if he was doogie howser.

    Goutlaw I know my thighs were very sore and stiff on taxotere. It was muscle. Is your pain bilateral. If yes then it might be the chemo. Still tell your doctor.

    Just left side up by femur bone...Yea sore when I walk, go up or down steps, and touch...but not deep and sharp...

    I've been getting echos every six weeks and they have never needed contrast.  I go again this morning. I dropped from 63% to 54% last time. I see the cardiologist next week, but should have results before my infusion tomorrow.  My MO defers to the cardiologist on matters of the heart!

    Vbllmom that almost sounded romantic. Yes the Card wil tell the Onc, but they know too what to do about u'r %

    My sister went and got all her yearly tests done, and everything was fine and her Dr. said wow u'r a healthy lady-well except for stage IV hahaha--that'll put a dent in u'r health, but at least everythin else is good.

    I go tomorrow for my echo. I'm sure I will not find out the results until my MO appt next week. In addition to the EF number, I have lots of questions for him since I know he will want to put me on Tamoxifen or and AI.

    I asked my technician if she could tell me my EF and she said she couldn't, but she also couldn't stop me from looking at the screen.  It went up to 59%, so I should be good to go for my vitamin H infusion tomorrow!

    vball, congrats that your ef went back up.

    goutlaw, yes tell your doctor but honestly that doesn't sound like anything to worry about at all.  All the drugs you've been on do a lot of damage to your system and it takes awhile to recover.  I'm being optimistic and assuming that we do eventually recover from it ....  !  Herceptin can also make you achey, and if you're on tamox already, that can make you achey too.  You might have depletion of some minerals from all the drugs which can give you muscle cramps and such.

    So sad...met with oncologist... She said I do all 8 chemos first, then surgery...She said I'm in Stage 3 but don't know a , b, or c cause that's clinical stage...said my tumor is getting softer but I have poor prognosis because to grade 3, my age and being Her2! I don't know what to do...all I do is cry
