Yes Sheila and she and I are so glad DH was able to see her get married.
I invited a few gals form my high school, class of 69 to a cookout over my house. Should be fun.

Happy 4th!

-
Happy 4th of July to all of my Sister Warriors. May you all find relief from pain, enjoy better health and have a stress free day. Peace, Prayers, Hugs, Love and Blessings to everyone today and everyday in the future.
-
what cmb said, lol!!
-
Sandy, hope you will be feeling better soon.
Meece, you must be so excited to see Patch andLala.
My DD#3is staying nearby and we spent the day together. But they are going tomorrow tolookfor a house in Boston area. I will have baby Caroline (now a big girl 2)and she will stay overnight. She will miss her mama but I have fun stuff planned.
So we ended up going to fireworks without the kids...always brings back memories.
One thing for sure...things do not stay the same very long... -
Have fun with Caroline! Things don't stay the same - that's for sure...
sorry, you only got 1/2 a tx, Sandy - hope the z pack knocks down whatever was giving you trouble and you feel better soon!
Speaking of z-packs...work from 1-8 today. Was supposed to work only from 10-3 yesterday, but other lady's mother was in hospital and she asked if I could stay 'til 6 for her - so I did... What would they do without me? lol too bad I'm don't know enough to make a real contribution...
Boys are coming home from camp tomorrow...and I haven't cleaned the house - and I'm not going to want to tonight either...I'm in trouble...
((((((TOL))))))
-
Joan so excited for you to be spending time with Caroline....have fun
Chris if you are in trouble tell them to make their own dinner....you worked....
HAPPY DAY AFTER 4TH OF JULY!
-
DD made spaghetti - no meat though... Boys are at camp, so I didn't have to make dinner for them... I just wanted to clean the house before they got back and dumped their stuff everywhere so I couldn't get at the dirt. I cleaned the bathrooms (except the showers - tomorrow morning, maybe), mopped the kitchen floor, dusted here and there... vacuuming will wait until tomorrow.
Funny thing - the toilet brush rusted through and the brush broke off the handle...lol So I really only mostly cleaned the toilet...never had THAT happen before...
My legs are itchy- even the hydrocortisone I've been using is starting to make them itch. It's like the skin is dry and when I shave it irritates it more. I've tried lotions - they make it itch worse- even the sensitive skin ones. And if I forget to use the hydrocortisone, I get dry patches that either scab because I've scratched them or just because they are so dry. Been like this since March of LAST year. It is SO annoying - wondering if they will ever stop itching... and I've got mosquito bites on top of it... ugh.
-
checking in bronchitis getting better, breathing better, PET scan @ 1130....so excited, pathetic I know but Haven't had one since 2009, been asking him for one, this was his idea..bbl
HAPPY SATURDAY HOPE YOU ALL ARE WELL AND HAVING FUN IN THIS HEAT, STAY COOL!!!
-
Hope you have a good scan, Sandy! Glad you are finally getting one.
Well, I'm drenched in sweat...vacuumed - which is particularly fun in this humidity - cleaned up the kitchen- cleaned one shower - now need to clean the other. And then go buy new shower curtain liners (and a new toilet brush...)
I have a question for you - one of our showers is acrylic - which is supposed to be super easy to clean - as long as you keep up with it. Of course, I didn't (partly because I don't use that shower or that bathroom for that matter soafter a while, I figured the people who use it could clean it (including other older adult in this house) - but of course they don't...) Anyway - so there are these little "ledges" where water collects and mildew grows. It has stained the acrylic - which I've read isn't supposed to happen. I can't get the stains off. I can clean the rest of it well - even the soap scum, but these mildew stains just won't go away. I even tried soft scrub -which I believe is a no-no (and I think I scratched the surface...), but that didn't work.
Any suggestions?
Well - off to clean the fiberglass shower - good thing no one is home - I'm wearing a white tank top, wet with sweat, sans bra - not a pretty sight -especially with uneven boobs... poor me...:(
Stay cool everyone - (((((TOL)))))

I came looking for Duckie and found Blondiee, Meece, Flowers, Joan, Princess PK, and other friends! Just checking on you Duckster, and greetings to you PPK and everyone.

Grannydukes -
Ah, Princess, there you are......you've been missed!!!! Glad you are posting again. I hope everything is well with you....❤
-
I found both of you! Yeah!!!!! Princess and Scottiee. I really had lost you and now here you are. How are you? Has summer been kind to you? Scottiee, a summer without teaching? I hated teaching summer school. Now I am retired and make jam between doctor appointments. Miss the challenges and interesting students, however. Well sometimes I do. I made 5 1/2 pints of blackberry jam today. Tomorrow I'll dig into the peaches and make about twice that. Since tomorrow is Sunday, my mother would call it Heathen Jam.
Now Princess, what has kept you busy? Sure hope it was fun and not sitting in doctor office waiting rooms. This getting older busyness is full of things we never thought we'd have to deal with. I see my dentist in a couple of weeks and I think I'm in for trouble. I was complimented on how well my mouth handled chemo, but now I think I've developed holes where they shouldn't be. I think I see dollar signs flying by.
Blondie - Hope by now that Z pack has done its thing.
Jan
-
Well well well Scottiee you are lookin for me...
and shells and jan too.
Thank you.
No I'm not goin to drs.just dentist.
Jan go to the dentist...
Scottie...how I missed u..please stay here..this is a great thread.
Shells.hope you are doin ok.
The weather here is ugly.100deg.grrrrr.hate the summer.
Huggs everyone..
Ill be back. -
Granny it does my heart good to see you back!!!!,
Jan....yes, school's out for summer....yay!!! I used to occasionally teach summer school,
but like you, it wasn't my favourite thing to do. Most of the schools where I taught were old with no air conditioning, and when it's humid and 40 degrees, not so much fun....lol
Your jam making brings back memories of when I was growing up in Scotland and my mother and father would go berry picking (I was eating organic when people didn't know what organic meant.....ha ha ha ) my father was the one to make all the jams...blackberry, strawberry, rhubarb , raspberry....ah!!!! ....memories....thanks Jan for taking me down memory lane....lol -
Scottiee Hey, You're right. Organic. Never thought of that one. As kids our mom would send us down to the creek to get boysenberries for jam. Don't know that we brought back very many since we stuffed our faces with the berries. I think our mom had to go picking herself. I don't think I ever hung around the kitchen during jam making. I'd remember that, I think, because we didn't have any air conditioning in Southern California in the 50s. Even with AC today I was a sweaty mess cooking and stirring the pot. How did your mom get your dad to make the jam? When weather cools, I'll make some yummy homemade bread. Then I'll sit in a stupor until the bread is gone. Oh wait, I see MO next week. Better wait on the stupor.
-
Chris I have no idea....wear white ones all the time...me don't care.....
Hey Scottie miss you....Shell....Hugs....Granny, glad you are alive...Jan, thanks for caring, z pac is working just not quick enough, lol.
Scan went well...of course I asked the oncologist if they were going to stick me or give me anything and he said no and they did (sugar water) and I had to sit for an hour, played word search on my phone....it went ok, now for the results....by wednesday....feeling ok, still out of breath, and forgot and straightened up my room and of course got out of breath, will I ever learn, I found what I was looking for tho, lol....
Hope you all are having a nice cool day.....take care...bb tomorrow....
-
I'm back and have to get caught up. Maybe tomorrow or Monday. SOOOO much laundry and unpacking. Hope you are all well. Can't wait to hear about the wedding!

Grannydukes -
Grannydukes- I had no idea where you are. You said, " TOL" but I had no idea what it meant. Sometimes you have to spell it out for me! Duh.
-
Hi Granny K, I've been caring for my little Princess Caroline (Jersey girl)...it's too quiet now.
We had so much fun Friday...but Saturday was her "I don't want to" day...she's entitled...the best part is she took her naps and slept the night...and is out of diapers.
Hi Linda, you survived! It sounds like you made some memories
DD likes Cohasset the best of the 3 towns they visited in MA. It is much like the towns on eastern Long Island, and about the size of their NJ town. I still can't get used to the idea of their move, and her DH seems to be in shock. It's DD's job move, and he will have to look for work. Must be hard for him.I love this long week end!
Sandy, glad you are starting to feel better. Hoping for good scan results.
Sheila, you still recovering? Ducky, did you get back to the shore? I hope it was cooler there.
Chris,so your house is full again, huh! It sounds to me like you are getting better and better at that job...
Hi Veggy...
(((TOL))) -
I will be back posting in couple of days
i missed our conversations
Mind is preoccupied with things
Peace and normalcy to all of us
Good night my Friends
♥
-
On my way to bed but stopped in to catch up with all of you.
I'm sorry I haven't been around lately.....
Off tomorrow to spend a week with the grandkids up north on Lake Superior. Celebrating the little man's 5th birthday. Should be fun!
Love you all!
♥
-
Val, enjoy your trip and grandkids, and the birthday party!
My DGd#3 Caroline (older sister in my avatar). They are back with Mom & Dad tonight. -
Aw - what a sweetheart, Joan.
Take it easy, Sandy - hope the zpack knocks the rest of your respiratory thing down soon!
Well, I'm sick. Not sure if it was something I ate or a germ. Blah. And I keep getting twinges around my eyebrow, like a migraine is thinking of joining in on the action... ugh.
Yesterday was my mother's bday- we planned to go over there today since the boys were getting home yesterday and DD wanted to go to the church picnic. Now I have to call and say we can't come and DS will be away next weekend... not sure what to do. Maybe we'll do it in multiple parts - DS and I will go over Monday (assuming I'm better) and then DD and I (and "D"H?) will go next weekend... was thinking Saturday - but forgot I'm working 1-6... so I guess that means Sunday- will be a full day - church, lunch with in-laws (unless one of their other kids makes plans with them), bday with my mother and then concert on the green where DD plays with the town band from the next town over...
I'm so thirsty, but I'm afraid to drink too much - don't want to start this mess over again... Trying to decide if I want to try to eat some toast or rice... Would be nice if I could lose a couple lbs out of this...
(((((((TOL)))))))) Keep cool!
-
Joan811 - Beautiful pictures and even more beautiful children. Congratulations!
Happy Sunday ALL. I hope everyone is safe and well, pain free and enjoying their day. Hugs and Peaces y'all.
-
