I started the marinara to make a lasagna, my specialty. Wish you gals could join us!

Way to go Dulcigirl. How far was the drive? I just did a 5-hr drive alone, and felt so -- independent. My DH didn't approve at first, but I promised to take breaks. And there was a Tanger Outlet along the way, so, bonus.

My drive was 8 hours! I'm so proud of myself! I even took a different route coming home and showed my daughter where I grew up.



For me it's a combo of cancer courage AND the decision to stop waiting for the "perfect" time to do things...or waiting for other people. If it's a good thing and I can afford the cost, then I'm doing it.



See? I didn't just get new boobs! "The Wizard" gave me a heart and courage, too!!!

(Now I just need to work on finding my brain...)

Sciencegal - I've been shopping the closet too. Found in my cedar armoire a pair of cute black patent strappy sandals I bought at least 2 summers ago. Dressy, church type which is what I have the hardest time buying for this old lady. Forgot about last summer since I went to church sporadically. They fit! Need to do more of this closet shopping. What would help would be if I lost at least 10# to start with. Have a whole closet end in DD's room of scrubs I hope to never wear again. But can't get rid of them in case I do.

Sciencegal, we're just moving into town, closer to my daughter's special school.  Renting.  So my dream of a container house remains intact!  Luvmygoats, have been thinking... we have a friend who lives five miles from the school... still in town.. but he has a little farm!  A 'pile,' we call it.  And he has a beehive, and chickens.  Maybe when we buy here, we will buy near there, so I can have a goat!  Please tell me some cute goat stories.

Scienceg, my EF packages were excellent.  They were having a sale.  Free shipping, plus 25 dollars off coupon, and they were letting us order more than once with the coupon (thus the multiple packages).  I basically got an entire 'capsule wardrobe' -- camis, a skirt, two beautiful scarves, and a necklace made in India -- beads wrapped in silk.   Ordered this treat the day of a horrible biopsy to cheer myself up!  XXX

Closet shopping!  But really, what I most look forward to is... throwing things away!  

I wholly approve of this excellent purchase.

SO, speaking of shoes, today I just decided to randomly wear my new "fun" shoes that I bought in the Florida Keys at a swimsuit shop to my appointments to help cheer up the other patients, the hospital staff, and myself.
I had a blood draw, muga, Dr.s visit, radiation, and then herceptin infusion, and lunch in the hospital cafeteria. So plenty of time to spread the joy of these crazy shoes.



I hadnt managed to wear them yet and they were definitely retail therapy. I think they are hostess shoes for a fancy pool party. They are comfy silver slip-ons with a two inch heel and COVERED in little tiny rhinestones. I mean, put your eyes out disco ball rhinestones.



I had hoop earrings to match, couldn't have that much bling on my feet without balancing.



I wish I was smart enough to post a picture, but alas, not so much.



Anyway they were quite the conversation piece in all the waiting rooms and my favorite comment was from a nice older man who said, "what fabulous Cinderella shoes".



Gotta keep it fun where we can, right?? I'm trying!

Love the shoes! Its my first time posting here but I LOVE retail therapy! It has been my favorite thing to do during my treatments. Had chemo #5 of 6 yesterday and went straight to the mall afterwards and bought some cobalt blue dress shorts, a black tee with zippers on the shoulders and matching jewelery! Wore it today to my kids swim classes. Its the little things that get us through this horrible disease!

Thanks Sciencegal, my husband made it up for me!!  It is quite fitting!

Hi Carol- maybe in this day and age - online shopping for a new hat?? You deserve it, after all you have been through!!!

And a nice wide-brimmed hat can keep the sun off of us during radiation, as an added bonus.



I had to get some more emu oil on amazon for my radiation treatments today and so I threw in two CDs and a book, using my cancer card of course. Love that amazon prime account with free shipping since I use it ALL the time!
