Wow. Who woulda thunk it? Lol.
-
Do you have to get the name brand or will generic work as well?
Steph-Sounds like busy day for you! You must be really proud of your daughter!
-
I used the CVS brand. Worked fine.
-
Claritn is an allergy medicine and it helps by reducing the allergic reaction that the body has from neulesta shot or chemo. I had bad bone pain and I took the claritin so I would hate to know how bad it couldve been
-
AnnBR, OMG! Let me say it again. OMG!!
You look FABULOUS! Age is just a number. Attitude is what defines us. You got it girlfriend. -
Bless you all. I don't think I'm old until I hear the number said out loud and then it sounds really old. I do have a good attitude and am very young at heart. I love life!
This Sunday afternoon is my 'itty bitty no pity for the titty' party. My guest book is a 42DD black bra on a torso mannequin, with a few pink embellishments. Everyone will sign it using a silver pen. My sister and a few girlfriends have had the best time planning the silly games complete with booby prizes. I made up pink ribbon gift bags for everyone to take home with them. Best of all, our daughter is flying back from Knoxville, TN. so I will be taking most of next week off. I can hardly wait.
Ann -
Ann, the party sounds like it's going to be a blast. We want pics!
-
Ann that sounds like a blast! Have a great time! I can't wait for pics!
g'night everyone! sweet dreams
-
you too Melissa!
-
Ann- That sounds awesome, hope you guys have lots of fun! Love your new avatar pic, you look fab!!!!!!
I took a late afternoon nap so I will be up for a while, bleh! Nothing to watch on tv and ive read the whole internet by now...lol.
Having some major nerve pain today, had tried to move to taking just advil but had to take a vicodin tonight. I called ps office to let them know because I dont like being medicated and she said that its normal for the procedure I had. She called me in a refill to last me until my appointmet with them next week. Hanging in there until it gets better.
Still havent left the house but got up and walked out to the front porch several times today so thats good. Left side and tummy are healing well, have a couple of bad spots on my right side incision.
Thats my rant for today, thanks for listening and hugs to all! -
sweetpickle, I am still taking vicodin to sleep at night and once or twice during the afternoon/evening. take care and hope you are feeling better soon.
-
Good late evening:
I gather from briefly reading some of the posts here, some of you have had the "pleasure" of experiencing seroma issues. My problem started 3 weeks post surgery and now today (6 weeks post op) my right breast is also leaking. I see my PS tomorrow, but would love to receive feedback from anyone.
I had BMX w/DIEP reconstruction. Left breast tissue failed and I have a temporary implant.
Thank you. -
Good Morning.
Lisa- The news told about the firefighters in Arizona you mentioned..showed them ringing the bell as they read names..thats so sad. One of them grew up near here too. My prayers are with them and their families. I don't know how any of them can stand to fight fires in 115 degrees (not counting fire area) anyway. Amazing and hats off to them.
Liamsgrand-That would be me. I'll PM you so these ladies don't have to relive with me as is yuckky as you well know!
Ann-that sounds like so much fun! I understand hearing the number thing. I have a lot of friends of all ages..one very close that is in her late 20's and it always feels wierd when I remind myself Im 47. There's a little voice in my head that says.."Bullshit!!!!"...lol.
Melissa-I love your new haircut (she's sporting it on facebook) it suits you!
Sweetpickle=I decided yesterday to go ahead and get myself educated on DIEP, etc..which one did you say that you did? Did they take muscle from your abdom? I read one post where she had had it done and was telling another lady that she was up walking (though bent over) down the road every day by 3 days..THAT WOULD NOT BE ME..lol..It took a week before I ventured outside to walk around house and that was slowwww. Has it been constant pain the whole 3 weeks? And why can't you sleep in a bed? Is it that its hard to get up because of abdom? I've heard some on here rented a lift. Not sure what this is. Sorry to drive you nuts with questions. By the way, we did cancel vacation..after reading what you wrote (I am not the bravest with pain)..plus the hassle of trying to get everything to coincide with being in Florida for 4th week of recoup..How much fun would I have anyway?
-
Cyndie- Sorry you had to cancel your vacation. I did have the diep done and I was able to walk the second day after surgery but very short distqnces and very bent over. Week three is when things turned around and I was able to straighten up more, Im still not 100% upright but close. The pain has been off and on and is more annoying than anything. Right now the vicodin is the only thing that helps. I cant get myself uo from a lying flat position and it stretches my tummy to much to lay in the bed. Using a recliner which I can lift myself out of pretty well now. The first two weeks I needed someone else to help me out of it.
-
Heather, you def are not getting sleep..??...As only 7 hours between your post. Its hard isnt it though sleeping in chair? I'm going to call today to PS in Charleston and I guess see what I need to do or what they need before hand. Will def need to get insurance on board. The hospital our insurance covers is not equipped for surgery ...thank goodness (once again, not a lot of good surgeons around this town)
What plans do you and ya'll have today? I've reached a new level (good, bad???)..I watched 3 back to back Little House on the Praries yesterday..lol..Its been years. I'm on season 2012 of House (started I think on season 2007 In April..And now have also found a channel that has started old episodes of Smallville. ................I need work back....lol..But there is, also, Army Wives, Falling Skies, and Under the Dome....ok rambling..bored already at 8:13am.
-
Lol, yeah not to much sleep for me. It is hard sleeping in recliner but I will nap later.
I have to share somethng cute that just happened. My recliner is in master br next to the bed where dh sleeps. So this morning after dh leaves for work my daugte sneeks into the bed. Our puppy came up to the bed and whined at her and in her sleep she says "Go away you mangy dog". I busted up laughing cause she is out cold. So cute! -
LMAO! Oh that is cute!!! LOl...How old is your daughter? What kind of puppy do you have? Are you back home yet?
-
Ck: you just crack me up sometimes. lol
Well I'm on my way to Charleston for my PS appt. and it's just pouring rain. I sure hope it clears up soon.
Ann your party sounds like it's going to be awesome. I can't wait to hear about it. -
Safe travels Chimneymae!
Cyndie- My daugter is nine and we are still at MIL house, she gave us her master br to use while I heal. Looks like we will be here for good now. Our move into our new house down here is August first so dh will start traveling back to our house on the weekends to pack the house. If Im up for it, I will go with him next Saturday. -
Wow you have major changes coming! Had ya'll planned to move before you were diagnosed?..It sounds like you have a great MIL!
Cyndy-Drive careful. I think it is raining in Charleston as well. I know they are calling for it to move up this way..which is strange as it generally doesn't come from there to here..but either way..its dark outside now. So be careful and good luck!
I'm feeling very very lazy today. I was thinking I need to get dressed..might rev me up. I think the whole slug on the couch thing Janet did sounds wonderful today.
-
No, we didnt decide to move until May when dh decided to open his construction business again after losing his job in March. Construction is booming again here in Charlotte and he has a lot of contacts here for business because we lived here five years ago and had a business before the economy died. He is busting his butt right now taking care of me, the kids, and gettin jobs done. Crazy times for sure!
-
Sounds like you married well!
..Well, after ya'll get past all this madness things will be good. And you are right about economy there..is very good. I lived in Rock Hill for 10 years and Charlotte a bit. When we go there, it amazes me how much its grown up. Especially Rock Hill (have lived in Sptbg now for 14 years). Its like Charlotte is slowly sliding towards Rock Hill. Def to Tega Cay and Fort Mill..I can't tell Pineville from Charlotte now. Thats good for ya'll!
-
Well we made it. I had to "swim" from the car to the office door.
Now the rain has died down.
I hope the ride home is better.
Sweetpickle you are so blessed to have such a wonderful MIL. I hope my children's spouses like me as much. -
Good morning girls. Thanks ckmoss on the hair cut compliment. I actually like it better than the longer hair.
I'm stiff and sore this morning.. again like every morning when I wake up. It takes me about 15 minuts just to stretch and do exercises and then get out of bed. OUCH. I really hope that this pain does go away. Its something I'm gonna ask the doctor.
Chin, glad you made it safe.
Sweet - good luck on the house moving. It's great to have such supportive family.
Sorry if I missed anyone. Time to start my day. Wish me luck! I go into work for 1030 ish (when I get there LOL), have my dr appt with my mom (talk about our breakdown and so my mom can finally meet the doc) and then back to work until 6 pm (or later). If I could drink.. a ceasar would be in order for the end of the day.. ahh maybe a virgin one may be called for! LOL
Have a great day all! And remember... keep kicking it and reach for the sky today! xxooxx
-
Good morning. Just back from my PT and 12th RADS. Tomorrow is my "xrays" for my halfway point (which is actually friday). It's gone by fast!
Hope everyone has a great day. I'm heading in for a nap. Swim meet tonight (but not sure how long I'll last there)
-
Janet-You are halfway home baby!!!!! I am so excited for you!
My friends are all the time sending me funnies through text to lift my spirits. I received a text this morning..background was all black and in white letters through the middle it said
SHIT CREEK SURVIVORS
lol
-
Well, had my next to last fill. I am now at 700ccs. I still think I'm small. Looks more spread out than projected out. Anyway they tell me the implants will look better and will drop and fluff. We'll see.
On the way back home now and it's still pouring rain. ugh!!
Think I'll take a nap while dh is driving. -
Cyndy-Im glad all went well! Have safe trip back! ..and here's to fluffy breasts!
-
Is everyone well?
I made a strawberry cobbler tonight...lattice and strawberries from farm and all. Wayyyy too much time on my hands! lol..I am starting on a diet tomorrow with all the foods they say is you should eat not to have recurrance (John Hopkings website)..nowhere on there was a strawberry cobbler
?????...So figured should get it in tonight.
-
That sounds yummy! You know what? I noticed that since my diep I havent been able to eat large portions of food, so eating smaller more frequent meals. I think Ive lost a pound or two just from that even though Im sitting on my rear 24/7 LOL.
