Bird Watching Club

Husband and I would love to see sequoia trees. We missed out on a California vacation because I felt so beaten down from BC treatments.
-
SoCal-such a pretty place. I was there a couple of years ago. Lots of wildflowers & wildlife. See any bears? I kept missing them but my family members capable of sitting still & hanging around the campsite saw them almost daily.
-
No didn't see any bears.lI have seen them in some other National parks..Deer..birds butterflies, ground animals. Didn't see any eagles either..no big horned sheep..cows!
Pretty uneventful really. In Sequoia, the trees are overwhelming. Better views in Kings' Canyon. It did feel good to get down to sea level after lunch at over 7,000 ft. Nothing like being over 12,000 in CO. I guess I am an ocean person at heart! -
At Chrystal Cave they made us take all food and liquids including water out of our car and put in bear proof bins and we could only carry one bottle of water on our person. This was including a hike of over a mile and up and down the equivilent of a 33 story biulding.
For those of us over 70 it was no easy task. -
No bird, but did see this little critter at the bottom of the climb..he sat on my hand for the longest time
-
It's really special when we connect like that. Soooo nice.
-
guess there isn't enough info to know what this bird is
-
Now I think this is a secretary bird I saw
-
Is that a band on the leg?
-
it is
-
this little guy was on the beach all by himself...lonely I think
-
this pelican was just so white..
-
No guesses for bird?
-
Even tinyfishy could not identify the bird.
-
Look who was sneaking into the hummer feeder
-
A female hooded oriole. They drain my feeders daily.
-
Do males ever show up at the feeders?
-
Our Baltimore orioles (male and female) have a feeder of their own. But they really like the grape jelly and fresh orange better.
-
We only see baltimore orioles when the apple trees are in bloom. I did use oranges but not grape jelly years ago.
-
three different species of birds invade the hummers spot...
-
Just had three baby orioles at the feeder being fed jelly by their dad. So cute!
-
Awwww
-
-
I just returned home from the store and my friend
was waiting for me to fill up his feeder..
-
Looks a little irritated!
-
He was standing to the one side ..but he isn't a pirate of my feeder
-
I think an insect eater.
-
me too
-
so far I am pretty happy with my newish camera...sometimes it just doesn't want to
focus on what I want it to focus on...
-
Great pictures Lisa.
