Fear defeats more people than any one thing in the world.
~ Emerson ~ -
There are people looking for exactly what you have to offer, and you are being brought together on the checkerboard of life.
~ Louise L. Hay ~ -
Sherry,
I need to add a little risk myself.. I enjoy your quotes too and I am glad you enjoy the ones I find.. Hope you have a wonderful day...Here is another good one...
Carefully watch your thoughts ...
for thoughts become your words
Manage and watch your words ...
for words will become your actions
Consider and judge your actions ...
for actions will become your habits
Acknowledge and watch your habits ...
for habits shall become your character
Understand and embrace your character ...
for character becomes your destiny

Everything in life that we really accept undergoes a change.
~ Katherine Mansfield ~ -
To give without any reward, or any notice, has a special quality of its own.
~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~ -
You don't get to choose how you are going to die. Or when. You can only decide how you're going to live. Now.
~ Joan Baez ~ -
I shall grow old, but never lose life's zest
Because the road's last turn will be the best.
Expect the best!
It lies not in the past.
God ever keeps the good wine to the last. -
Since a new Superman movie just came out--I thought maybe a quote from the real Superman might be appropriate: When the first Superman movie came out I was frequently asked, "What is a hero?"....My answer was that a hero is someone who commits a courageous action without considering the consequences...Now my definition is completely different. I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Christopher Reeve

You cannot always have happiness, but you can always give happiness. ~Author Unknown~

Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. ~Joseph Addison~

What you posted today Patti is SO true. Really hit home for me. Enlightenment happens when we least expect it, sometimes about people in ways that we would never have imagined possible.

Many a man curses the rain that falls upon his head,
and knows not that it brings abundance to drive away hunger.
~ St. Basil ~ -
Sherry I am so happy to
have you here posting with us
May we leave this place now
determined to use every moment
that we have lived
to turn up the volume in our own lives,
to create deeper meaning,
to know what really matters.
What really matters is who you love and how you love. . . ."Oprah Winfrey

Thank you Patti. This is a place I feel most welcome in a sometimes, otherwise overwhelming, chaotic life. I'm keeping your thought for today as one of my favourites.
Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning
can give a sense of quiet
in a crowded day ~
like writing a poem
or saying a prayer.
~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~ -
JUST FOR TODAY:
--Smile at a stranger.
--Listen to someone's heart.
--Drop a coin where a child can find it.
--Learn something new, then teach it to someone else.
--Tell someone you're thinking of them.
--Hug a loved one.
--Don't hold a grudge.
--Don't be afraid to say "I'm sorry."
--Look a child in the eye and tell them how great they are.
--Don't kill that spider in your house, he's just lost, so show him the way out.
--Look beyond the face of a person into their heart.
--Make a promise, and keep it.
--Call someone, for no other reason than to just say "Hi."
--Show kindness to an animal.
--Stand up for what you believe in.
--Smell the rain, feel the breeze, listen to the wind, enjoy the sun.
--Use all your senses to their fullest.
--Cherish all your TODAYS!

"The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us,
and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak,
the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls."

If you try to make your circle
closed and exclusively yours,
it never grows very much.
Only a circle
that has lots of room
for anybody who needs it
has enough spare space
to hold any real magic.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

"Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing,
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong

Have been enjoying this thread over the last few days. Hope you don't mind if I share this with all of you. Someone sent this to me a while back. I have it posted on my bulletin board in my office at work. I try to keep it in my consciousness as I go about my day--sometimes it works and sometimes I "forget."
St. Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trus God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you...
May you be content knowing you are a child of God....
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
in love and light, and meditatively,
grace -
That is lovely Grace, thank you so much for sharing it.
Hugs,
Carrie -
