There are stars who's light only reaches the earth long
after they have fallen appart.
There are people who's remembrance gives
light in this world
long after they have passed away
This light shines in our darkest nights
on the road we must follow.
~ The Talmud

Some of the shells
that wash up on the beach
were once very beautiful.
We don't know what kind of journey
they had to take to get them
in their fragile condition.
The same is true for people. Be kind."

There's no place like home,
there's no place like home,
there's no place like home.

When you are a bear of very little brain, and you think of things, you sometimes find that a thing which seemed very thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it! ~Winnie-the-Pooh

Oh Carrie! Thank you so much. I love Pooh's ponderings, and this oneseemed to especially fit today! Pam

A minute of "thought" is worth more
than an hour of talk.
Spend some quiet time with your
"thoughts" today.

We need a renaissance of wonder.
We need to renew, in our
hearts and in our souls,
the deathless dream, the eternal
poetry, the perennial sense
that life is miracle and magic.

American Writer

Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, "Where have I gone wrong?". Then a voice says to me, "This is going to take more than one night".
-Charlie Brown, Peanuts, as written by Charles Schultz
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A small trouble is like a pebble.
Hold it too close to your eye
and it fills the whole world
and puts everything out of focus.
Hold it at a proper distance
and it can be examined
and properly classified.
Throw it at your feet
and it can be seen in its true setting,
just one more tiny bump on the pathway of life.
We may run, walk, stumble, drive,
or fly, but let us never lose sight
of the reason for the journey,
or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way.
Always have faith in yourself~~
It is not easy to live life sometimes
and face the world with a smile when you're crying inside.
It takes a lot of courage
to reach down inside yourself.
Hold on to that strength
That's still there and know that tomorrow is a new day with new possibilities.
If you can just hold on long enough
to see this through, you'll come out
a new person - stronger, with more understanding and with a new pride in yourself from knowing you made it." ~ Kathy Obara
Live your life each day as you
would climb a mountain. An
occasional glance towards the
summit keeps the goal in mind,
but many beautiful scenes are
to be observed from each new
vantage point.
Life is like mathematics
in which you add your friends,
divide your sorrows
In This Home
We believe in living deeply,
laughing often and loving always.
We believe we were brought together
to support and care for each other.
We believe in celebrating together-our faith, our heritage, our traditions.
We believe that everyone's feelings count, and that the uniqueness of each of us strengthens all of us.
We believe in the power of forgiveness to heal and the power of love to carry us through.
We believe in one another, in this family,
In This Home.
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving
Most of all the other beautiful
things in life come by
twos and threes by dozens
and hundreds. Plenty of
roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows,
brothers, and sisters,
aunts and cousins, but
only one mother in the whole world.
If you have not often
felt the joy of doing
a kind act, you have
most of all yourself.
I've just spent over an hour reading through these and feel so energized and motiviated. Here's one I found the other day while reading a book about French Design and it seemed so appropriate for me as I'm heading into year 2 of this journey..and all the things I've learned along the way.
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
Sherry, Thanks for posting that quote, how true it is,especially on this journey we are on...
The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it. ~C.C. Scott
I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day. I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it. We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did. ~Benjamin Harrison~
I had ceased to ask that terrible question -- what is the good of it all? Now it seemed quite plain and simple: the proper object of life was happiness, and I promised myself much happiness ahead.
Leo Tolstoy, "Family Happiness" -
What you plant in the spring of your life
and weed and cultivate in summer,
you will harvest in the fall
to make the winters of your life.
