Alive.....in your pockets for sure, with everything crossed, locked and loaded for you! Tomorrow you will stop being a "victim" of bc, and start being one who kicks the snotgrass right out of it!!!!!!!! We'll be looking forward to hearing from you, but we know you'll be in good hands until we do. ((((((((X))))))))))

Bellies-just a quick post to say "konichiwa, Ohiyo gozeimas?"  Haven't had much luck on getting to use the computer....DD has had me on the go ever since the morning after touchdown.....still pretty jet lagged, but have managed to gorge myself on sashimi (my favorite Japanese food) and DD has worn my knees down to nubbs taking me for an easy hike up the side of a mountain.....going to visit the rural, central area of Hokkaido today, where the tulips are blooming (fields of them).  Will take along protein bars in case I can't make myself eat something local...DD taking me to onsen Thurs/Fri.....will let you all know if my alien frontal appearance traumatizes the locals!  Miss you all,and sending many (((hugs))) your way!

Alive - in your pockets tomorrow. I was overnight with UMX and 27 nodes removed. First time getting up was tough but by the time I went home the next day it wasn't too bad. Looking forward to hearing from you postop. Hope you are able to put it out of your mind and rest this evening

Edi - love the underwear story!

Nihahi - what kind of books do you and DH like to read? Sounds like you had a good day

Liefie - hope the stiffness improves soon, you are doing so well but sounds like a bit of a marathon taking DD to and from airport.

Dakota - glad you got home safely

Traii - my youngest that just graduated had a bad habit of throwing up on me until he was about six. He texted me during the graduation banquet with the words - thanks for keeping me even though I threw up on you ;)

Benny - doing the happy dance for you. Tried to find the quote you were looking for re: worrying about the past or future but didn't have any luck either. Glad though that the present with a horse is perfect :)

Very tired. It is only 7:30 pm here but heading up to bed. Went in to work this a.m. for a few hours, went to Costco, then after lunch tea with a friend and an appointment. Drove home in rush hour and have barely moved since.

    Greetings to everyone else.

All the best for tomorrow Alive! I had a left MX and was in for 23 hours (must be an insurance thing). Had a pain pump (lasts about 72 hours) and was amazed by how little pain I had. Had 25 nodes removed, so that caused some numbness/tingling. The drains were a pain, but manageable. All in all, it was much easier than I expected. Will be thinking of you tomorrow - I'm sure it will all go well for you.

    Hello gals,

Hope today finds you all well.

Spent most of my weekend sleeping. Felt ok other wise.

My kids dad had a massive heart attack last week and is not doing well. Not their biological father but the man who was always there for them. It is so hard to believe, he is the most fit person I know. My poor DD is very torn up.

Went on a hike today with my DH, I got some great pics. I need to figure out how to post them.

Edi an artist as well, I could see that your cakes are so beautiful

alive thinking of you sending you prayers. I had umx stayed 2 nights nightspot that was because I got real sick to my tummy.

Dakota glad you made it home safely and hope you had a good time.

Traii vomit in car never fun. Oh the joys of motherhood.

Liefie glad you had a great visit with your DD. Lad your drain drain free free also. Sounds like you are healing well.

Nahahi hope sleep finds you soon.

    Love to you all

    Hi gorgeous gals xxxx

Had ONE hectic day yesterday, couple of our old friends wanted to visit for a little while and also see shedman who lives five mins away.
Edi cleaned and tidied like a nutter, to much clutter doing my head in.
Shedman and Mrs came around and tea and cookies was all we were supposed to be having but DH went for more milk and we bought 60 chinese frozen bits. 18 mins in oven and after DH saying too many, they were gone !!
Finished with tea and cake, short visit stretched to 4 hours but was such fun.
Shedman was happy and think forgot about things for a while.Still waiting results, torture Yell

Nihahi, awake at 2am, I had a phase of it with no reason, now can't keep awake !! This rad fatigue really knocks your socks off.
Glad DH story made you laugh, yesterday he decided  to vacum stairs and landing, near bottom of stairs vacum packs up !! on off switch broken ??
He shoots off and buys me a new one, tiny bagless and very efficient, goes back to vacum last three stairs and promptly drops the feckin thing.
Touch wood it is fine but if it had been me the lecture would have gone on for weeks, as it was got shown how NOT to pick it up ( common sense ) but had to look all student like whilst wanting to strangle him with the vacum lead.
Ice cream !!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous, only ice ceam place is a good twenty minute drive away and people come for miles to it.We are so behind the times here.
Golfing too, well done no ball hitting ha ha.
Thinking of you at appointments  this week, hope all goes well, busy lovely lady xx

Movie, checking back posts and didn't wish you bon voyage, sorry dear friend, glad you got there in one piece.
DD bit of a slave driver re mountain ! Good for you doing it. Enjoy everything else sounds wonderful. xx

Traii, that appointment better come this week or band of Warrior sisters will be flying to Aus for a punch up.
DS being sick, poor you. Our best one when we were minding GD's was getting to supermarket and as DH lifted her out of baby seat she had had an attack of the wild sxxxxs. Put her straight back in seat ( sitting on a carrier bag ) zoomed home, I dashed to run her a bath DH lifts her up starts up the stairs and trips, falls flat onto giggling baba who was covered in poop. Think he is defo your DH's twin. lol.I cleaned her up and he had to get a shower too.
Would love to try a drive in, don't have them here sound great. Chinese even better.
Sugar rushes are so not funny, glad DS was ok. xx

Liefie, go girl you are amazeballs ( one of ED's favourite sayings ). Sorry DD gone but sounds like fun when she was there.
    Coffe then fish, typical man.
The praise thing for men does work doesn't it ?
Hope early night got your energy levels back xx

Alive, Heres to all going well, thinking of you xx

Websister, your son's txt was so lovely. Hope you are improving pain wise xx

    Benny, WELL DONE XX

    Caitlin, love and hugs xx

Marie, here in England lots of sleeping going on too.
So sad about children's Dad, hope he gets well soon and DD not so sad.xx

Got reflexology 12pm today really need it! My practisioner just come back from Norwegian cruise, it was awful so getting all the details today.

    Laters X

So happy for Shedman. I'm happy dancing for him with Dakota :)

Sorry I have no info on the rads either, but I know it can do some serious crazy stuff as I'm sure this is all a SE from it.

Dakota girl, hope you had a awesome time away and relaxed lots. Now back to work girl....you shouldn't be on here...lol !! hope you're not too busy today after your long weekend.

Alive, I had my BMX on a Tuesday and I came home Thursday morning.  You will do great!

Well Ladies,  I'm on my way to the PS this morning.  I am seeing the same one I saw before my BMX, Mike wasn't thrilled with him the few times we met with him but I think it's because he wasn't as personable as my BS. I tried to explain to him PS are a different breed..

Hope you all have a great day..  Oh and I start my Tamoxifen today, I am hoping not to many side effects..

    Love you all,

Alive, sending positive vibes to you on the OR table, praying for no nausea afterwards, and that your recovery will be smooth. I can already see the snotgrass flying - LOL. We love you, girl!

Edi, YAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! Doing the happy dance for shedman! Send him my regards, please. I've been so sorry for him, and now so happy! No real advice re boob shrinkage. I had a TE in there which kept mine at more or less the same size. Rads can cause damage to the tissues though, so maybe phone your rad onc, and ask about it? Will put your mind at ease. The joys, eh? As long as the bc beast has been zapped into oblivion we have to stoically endure the collateral damage - seems to be a common thread here.

Websister, seems like you were busy-busy yesterday? Hope you had a very good sleep last night. The airport trip on Sunday was a marathon indeed. DH did his famous trick of not telling me where he was planning to stop along the way, and I was a captive audience - lol.

Delvzy, welcome here! You have found a most amazing group of women . . .

Dakota, glad you had a good time! You are one of those people whose attitude always makes something good out of something not so good. If life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, that kind of thing. It is such a wonderful quality to have!

I was still talking to you girls when breakfast interrupted.

Traii, good for you on contacting Delvzy. She's lucky - can't think of a more fun person than you to have close!

Maria, so sorry to hear about the heart attack. Hope he will be okay - must be hard for your children. Hugs to all of you!

Carla, hope you have a fruitful meeting with the PS. Tamoxifen will be fine, I'm sure. Have to go back on mine today after being off it for the DIEP surgery. Hello hot flushes! Again the collateral damage, but as long as it keeps the beast at bay, we'll take it.

Caitlin, are the chemo blahs lifting already?

DH let himself loose in the garden early before work this morning wielding a chainsaw. He made such a racket that I expect trouble from the neighbours later today - lol. He cut off every branch/limb that had been offending him for a long time, and is still not finished according to him. It's all about getting more sun for his precious plants, and the new small veggie garden that he's making. We basically live in a forest, so many trees around. Came in here so dirty for breakfast, stripped naked in the laundry room, and then Adam streaked through the kitchen on his way to the shower - never a dull moment with this energizer bunny I call husband. Just shaking my head . . .

Nihahi, I'm beginning to feel quite bored here on day 12. Can't drive anywhere yet, or do much because of the ban on lifting anything, but defo not sick anymore or any pain at all. Incisions so itchy, so obviously healing well. Reading is all I've been doing. As much as I love it, it is getting old. Planning to take a longer walk today sans dog though. He is big, and will cause too much pulling on the leash. No plant watering today - LOL.

I just got back from a derm. appt as a followup to the BCC I had surgery on last winter. Turns out, I now have a different, little more serious type of skin cancer in a different spot. Just when you think the sun's gonna shine....bam! Oh well, nothing to do but keep looking forward. I now have a frozen cheek with a couple sutures and steristrip from the biopsy and "hopefully" will get the path report next week when the sutures come out. Tomorrow, physio gets his hands on me again. I just know it's not gonna be fun, but I am looking forward in a sick way, to having help with this shoulder.

Liefie...yep...itching is defo a sign of healing. Are you massaging the incisions and keeping them and surrounding skin moisturized???? It's a time-consuming effort, for sure, but well worth it. Just for the heck of it the other day, I measured my suture lines.....turns out I've got almost 40" of incisions....the tummy one itself is 18.5". No wonder we're tight and tired, eh?! I totally get the boredom thing....big time. Hang in there, the days do get more like normal pretty soon. Hubby chainsawing in the morning.....I would have slung "balls" at him myself....hope the neighbours realize who the culprit was!

Delvsy.....welcome....despite what other's might say....I'm the shy, quiet one on this thread! Good to know that Traii has someone in her timezone!

Edi....again....hysterical stories about hubby. You could make a hit tv series out of his antics! Such WONDERFUL NEWS about shedman!!!!!! Give him many hugs. Did you ever hear back from wrinklybutt???? Wasn't he "in the waiting zone" too?

Movie....boy, I think of you and just smile, imaging what your're up to.

Websister.....Hubby has a pretty dull booklist, IMHO....he does the mystery/cop/ or western themed stuff. I like just about anything that's well written....historical novels, biographies, travel/adventure stories, whatever.

Maria....sorry about the news, hope things turn out ok for the man.

Carla....hope the ps consult goes well. You're "heads" in a different place now, so he may come across in a better way this time.

    Alive....(((((((((X)))))))))

    Gotta dash

Nihahi, a new worry every day, eh? Hopefully it turns out to be the less aggressive, benign kind. My dad had so many of these things removed from his face, so it's very familiar to me. Guess you are always using sunscreen and hat when outside - just saying. Hope that physio will be gentle on you tomorrow. Phoned my PS yesterday, and she said no arm/shoulder exercises at all - oh well. Not massaging yet, supposed to start next week. Still have some steri-strips on incisions. Showering every day to help them along -  PS said to let them fall off by themselves, but they are taking their own sweet time! I'll have to get out my tape measure to measure my battle scars - lol.

    Hi everyone!

Liefie, yes, all chemo and rads done but I'm still wary of the fact that I only had (less than) 50% of my recommended chemo. Hope it was enough, but that fact is hanging over my head. They gave me a booster on the rads so that might help. Benny is doing okay but he just turned 13 and he's showing his age these days. I honestly think the last few months have been hard on him. Diamond actually threw me on February 24 and I haven't ridden her since. When I'm feeling better and stronger she's going to get worked more and shown more *appropriate* ways of being a horse lol. In her defense, there was a lot going on in the arena that day and she was over-stimulated. And I need to get stronger before I get back on her cause she's a handful. She's still completely adorable tho'. Did I post pics of us wearing rabbit ears? I'll do that as soon as I re-establish my photobucket account. The computer crash has had far-reaching results Frown So glad to hear your drain is gone! Man, I hated dragging that thing around. It was like a pet rock on a string...... always there but no personality.

Nihahi, a good friend of mine is fixing my computer so I should be back in normal mode soon. I've missed everyone here so much. Glad to hear the doc is on top of this new skin spot. I had one removed from my knee a few years ago, no problems since then.

Websister, I held my breath reading about your scan. I hope they can fix the lumps with minimal mucking around. You've been through so much. Any update on the port removal?

Jennie, my hair is about 3/4" long now, and going in every different direction. It's also different colors, not quite circus clown status but there's black, brown, blonde and, of course, grey. I'm not brave enough to go out too far like this but I did take the garbage out yesterday to the alley. For someone who's never had short hair in her life, this is a real weird feeling. Yours looks great in your picture, and all going in the same direction.... yay!!! Mine seems to have come in thicker, did yours? I still wear my wig but the darn thing matts something awful. It's very high maintenance. I usually put it in braids and look like Anne of Green Gables (well, maybe more like her great great grandmother haha).

Moviemaniac, so glad you found the thread! I could not have got through the last 8 months without everyone here. I have been to the Narita airport! I was there in 1981 with my mom, who had just finished her treatment for breast cancer. She was celebrating and we went on this tour of the Far East. It was fabulous. There were lots of folks wandering around the airport selling things and I did buy a few, which I still have today. Enjoy your trip!

Edi, I howled over Richard the snail. By any chance do you remember a show that was on years ago (British show) about an elderly woman and her son, whom she lived with? It was a comedy and really funny. There was an episode involving snails, my favourite. She thought she was losing her marbles because the snails kept disappearing in her garden. Too bad poor Shedman wasn't here, he could have avoided the blue dots. I whined enough and they let me get away with big black felt pen marks and tegaderm patches Laughing  And my boob did not shrink..... seems to be getting bigger (not a good thing in this case)

Carla, I am starting Tamoxifen on Thursday so we can compare notes. I have been warned about flashes and am wondering how bad they'll be. I'm hoping they don't end up using me to light the runway at the Calgary International Airport.

A big hi and hug to everyone... Luvmygoats, Traii and all.... has anyone heard from lesleyanne?

Okay, off to make supper and play Youtube videos of John Denver for my rescue pigeon. It's the only thing that shuts him up.

Wirdgirl118, you are welcome. No, I never had physical therapy. After UMX and SNB in February 2012 I did the daily exercises that were recommended by the surgeon, and it helped me greatly. Then in August I started yoga classes again, which helped me regain almost full range of motion on my mastectomy side. Now that side is tight again after DIEP surgery 12 days ago. I will see how that arm/shoulder does as far as range of motion, but if necessary I will certainly seek help from a professional like a physical therapist. They do excellent work. Do you have ROM issues?

Benny, I'm just glad you're done with the active treatments. Don't dwell on that chemo nightmare any more; it's water under the bridge, and by now that water must be in the Atlantic ocean - lol. The biggest percentage benefit in preventing a recurrance will come from the Tamoxifen. I've been taking it since August 2012, and the only SE for me is hot flushes. It is totally doable, and you will be fine. Diamond and Benny - I'm sure animals sense way more than we know, so they will be their old selves soon again. Good to hear you sound so well.

wirdgirl118....welcome to a wonderful bunch of ladies! The best medicine you'll ever have is found here!

Liefie....(((X))))! Did your PS mean nothing above shoulder height yet or just plain nothing??? Patience, grasshopper, you're still in the early days! (does that not sound familiar Laughing!) Hope you hid the chainsaw from hubby so the early morning "terminator" doesn't rattle the neighbours again.

Benny, Benny, Benny......you have been SO MISSED! I can't tell you what worrisome thoughts have been going through our heads about you. I totally get the "abyss" of computer crashes, but if it happens again, I don't care if you have to mug someone on the streets.....STAY IN TOUCH!!!!!!! Not at all excited about hearing that Diamond tossed you to the turf, but I understand it happens, and I'm very happy to read you're wise enough to know you need to get that strength built up before you work with her again. It'll happen, just be sure you're ready.

Alive....sending you gentle hugs....thinking of you.

    Hugs going out to everyone......

OK, ladies.....surely I'm not the only one who is thinking "rescue pigeon", what the........??????????

Dakota...nnoooo.....no complications for you, PLEASE!!!!! I had no issues with the mx arm for years. Since the flap recon, I've defo had issues, that sound and look like cording, but I thought it was a component of lymphadema, which I've never had (thank god). I'm seeing physio today, to see what they can do to help. What were you up to on the weekend?????

Movie....I'm gonna be glued to the boards tomorrow.....for updates on onsen news!!!!!! So glad you are having an awesome time...photos, girl, photos!!!!

Raining here AGAIN! The trails are gonna be nothing but mud, but I'm going to the mountains on Friday no matter what....

Websister....are you back to work???? Sounds like it from your recent post.

Delvzy....I don't understand the extreme differences in your "inflammation" markers???? How does your naturopath test for stuff like that????

Edi....still in happyland after your reflexology session?????

    Caitlin.....kind of quiet again....you ok?????
