Hope everybody has been enjoying the holidays. I'm in Arizona getting some sunshine having escaped Chicago before the first winter storm hit.

    Frances -- any news?

Best wishes to all of you for a healthy 2013.

Thanks to all you ladies. Saw my onco and he did a breast examination and said to do the bloodworks again mid Jan. I didn't trust him fully and sought an opinion from my GP who redid the bloodworks again and just received news yesterday that the liver profile is normal. thank God for this! My last cancer wasn't spotted by my onco although I see him once every 6 months. It was picked up by a GP when I went for normal health check as part of insurance requirement!

Hope all of you have had a great Christmas celebration and wishing all a healthy New Year with no more cancer issues to plague any of us! Have a great 2013 and many more to come.

    Frances,

So happy that you are OK and that you can start the new year with good health.

I've got to get back to good habits.  Too little exercise and too much chocolate over the holidays!  Let's make 2013 a great year.

Yay FrancesC!!!! Such good news. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I am working on those good habits as well. Back to the diet and exercise. Luckily I only gained 3 lbs over Christmas.

I hope everyone has a healthy and blessed 2013. Stay in touch . . .

Hooray Frances!!  I was so worried. I am so happy for you!!

I have been doing my best to do my weight training 2 times a week, walk a lot, and get at least 30 min of aerobic exercise everyday.  Worked out in the gym most days while in Miami and went kayaking one day.

Wishing everyone a happy and very healthy New Year!

    Hi everyone,

Hope all of you are enjoying life and doing fun and interesting things.

I know I must be feeling less anxious about life, since I had another follow-up mammo on May 17, which was all clear, and didn't write about it until today.

I am now on anastrozole and the aches in my low back and left foot (of all places!) remind me to get my ass to the gym!  Otherwise, all is good.  My Dexascan prior to starting the anastrozole showed no sign of osteopenia or osteoporosis.  Yeah!

Planning to go scuba diving soon.

Phillybird, so happy to hear all is going well for you. I too hate the aches from the anastrozole, but it's worth it and doesn't get in the way of life. Next mammo isn't until end of July after I return from a trip to Malawi. I haven't been out of Chicago since January and I'm beginning to get cabon fever.

Hope we hear from the others soon. Have a great summer everybody!

Hey Guys!!!  Good to hear from you. I just did my scans and mammo in April. All good. I still get major scanxiety before I go through all that. I started on Letozole (Femara) last October. The joint pain got really bad after about 4 months, but them it slowly went away over the next two months. Like you two, the pain made me drag myself to the gymn because the pain decreased tremendously after a workout. I hope we hear from everyone else as well. Cool - Diana

Well, today is my 2 year cancerversary!  Been drinking wine.  I am going out for a walk in town now!  I will want to hear all about your trip to Malawi, Rossileo.  Keep on moving, Diana.  Enjoy the weekend ladies.

Well, today is two years from my first infusion in The Chair.

I see my RO for a check-up next week.

My scuba diving trip was great and I am planning another to Bali for Xmas/New Year's; hopefully a liveaboard and some topside attractions too.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer!

My first infusion was on 7/11, and I didn't even think about it on that date. I've come a long way, baby! I am living life to the fullest!

I DO have my first colonoscopy on Friday (7/26) due to turning 50. I am terrified. You would think after all these other tests, nothing would scare me. But I guess I am scared they will find something. They do look at the colon when they do abs scans, right? I had my last ab scans in April.

Love you girls, and I love hearing from all of you.

Just got back from Malawi yesterday. Had a great time counting animals for a wildlife reserve as a volunteer. Lots of antelopes, baboons, warthogs and elephants! Chemo seems soooo long ago.

Diana, I'm sure your colonoscopy will be OK. The worst part is the prep. Robin, hope your RO check up is normal.

I've got a mammogram scheduled for next Tuesday. Hate the days before, but they are reassuring when they come back clean.

Enjoy the rest of the summer girls.

just completed my two year checks - Breast MRI and labs.  ALL GOOD! My bone density came back with osteopenia. My onc says it is a result of chemo, radiation, and Femara.

I should post a new picture too. My hair is long (about 12 inches -- 2 years of growth) with curly ends -- the last vestiges of chemo-curl. Can't wait to see your new look.

Great to hear everyone is doing well.

Weight training, walking/jogging/running, and jumping rope will help to build bone and fight the osteopenia; keep osteoporosis at bay. Eat calcium-rich foods and take 1000 IU of vitamin D per day.

My hair is not so long, 'cause I kept cutting it. Trying to grow it out to my shoulders again, though. Seems to be thinning a bit - which is a combo of anastrozole and my age and post-meno state. I think it would be like that if there had been no BC adventure. Would love to see others' hair.

New picture -- can't figure out how to rotate it, but you can sort of see the hair. Going to cut off the ends soon. Happy Autumn to all!

In fact it's so nice to read how you ladies are moving beyond bc and doing adventurous things. I want that. Glad to hear that the Femara isn't stopping you since it looks like Femara is in my future.

    Hi AKJ,

    Congratulations -- 3 out of 4!!!!

Yes, life goes on after BC and you should be able to look forward to doing lots of fun things.  I'm actually on Arimidex (anastrozole generic) and not feeling any horrible side-effects.
