Barb, you're due for a smooth stretch, Lord knows.

Ginger, I'm envious of anyone who sees lots of their grandchildren, but really happy for them too, honest :) We're lucky to see one gson a couple times a month, but only see the other gson once a month at best. They're both under a year so I want to see them as much as possible so they'll know me. And those little hands....I just want to hold them, and hold them, and.... you get the idea :)

So those of you who live close enough to your kids that you get to see the grands often, thank your lucky stars and give them extra hugs for all the MomMoms out there who can't, ok?

Marlegal, We have 4 grandchildren but only one close enough to see.  One - I last saw in 2010, maybe his parents will visit someday. I try to send him interesting toys.  Two - we have seen about twice a year and love it when we do. Our local Granddaughter is a joy. I know what it is like to not see them and it is hard.  I hope you can somehow see them more often.    It is interesting that the ones that are not closeby are my sons children, the local DGD is our Daughters.

Even when we lioved close to our DGS we rarely saw him. His mom is close to her own parents and that is it. If the DIL doesn't want you around it is so hard to be around.

New from our DGD    She is 2 2/3

Z (holding on to the front gate) "I'm stuck! I'm stuck! I'm stuck in my body." "We all are, honey, that's what makes us human." "I'm not a robot?" "No, you're not."

    lol

Lisa when I was in elementary school we would have Trading Cards. Your photos are like the very best trading cards ever. That is a high compliment. The boys had babseball cards and we had trading cards of Beautiful flowers, ballerinas, fluffykittens and puppies. A single flower likes one of your Lisa would command a trade of two or three other cards.

I wonder where my trading cards are?

We are all ill with some sort of upper respiratory virus. I have one medicine to stop me from lung spasms during the day and codiene syrup for the night. I seriously cough until I think I am never gpoing to get my breath again.

I started betting sick on Mothers Day. Now My DH, DD and DSIL are all on Antibiotics. We all started off not on them but the various Drs decided we needed them.

I guess the flu shots didnt work against this. Doc said this is carrying on for three and four weeks. Yarg, I am really tired of coughing until I wet myself.

I hope you are all feeling well and enjoying your days.

    Love Ginger

DH - dear husband, DGD - dear grand daughter and DSIL would be Dear Son In Law. Those initials are just short forms for relatives who all get the honourary title of Dear regardless of their behaviour.

We used to have the Blue Angels and Navy ships during Seafair, our summer festival. We've been told we will have neither this year due to sequester. It was really nice while it lasted.

Not sure if folks are reading this but have heard from 3Jays that Isabella died on the 15th July.

It makes me so sad because her certainly was spirited and lively.

Did we start a thread for Isabella?  I am not finding one.

    So sad about this.

Ginger  Edit to add, I just put up a thread for Isabella in the Honoring our community topic.

    Oh no!

I am so saddened to hear of her passing. I have enjoyed reading her posts about her life on the farm, they were like reading a James Herriott novel. I have been checking for what seems like ages for news of her since she had her back surgery and I have missed her posts so much. What could have happened. Did anyone know that she was not doing well?
