hi all, welcome Cyndie and welcome back cowgal and Charlotte!
Missed checking in yesterday but am down 2 lbs since last week.
Six-month onc app't Tues, all is well. 2 more years of tamox then an AI.
BMI is 27.51 kg/m2. What's the ideal - under 25? 20?
-
Missed yesterday again. Probably because I'm eating sweets like crazy for some reason. Go on these binges and it lasts days to weeks. Hopefully will be over soon.
-
Patoo, Once I start on sweets, I can't get enough. Try to put off having anything sweet until after dinner.
-
I swear I was never a sweets lover until BC. I always craved salty or savory things. I just discovered though Chapmans Frozen Yogurt 100 calories for 1/2 a cup and it totally give me anyway a sweet treat. Yes I'm measuring.
-
Badger, depends on your frame. With a large frame 23-25 is ideal. Although exercising could increase lean body mass, and you'd be "healthier" from a BC perspective (if lower fat means lower estrogen) than someone who doesn't exercise.

I am lean for my age. I was in the ideal range before treatment, which obviously was not enough. I was 100% ER+. Exercise was also suboptimal. Knowing that, I'd like to get as lean as I was in my 20s. I get my body fat measured at every scan.
-
Heidihill, thanks, that's interesting. I like how the chart implies it's considered normal to get fatter as you get older.
-
Down 1.8 lbs. this week so down a total of 5.2 pounds so far. Right direction but a long way to go! Hope everyone else has a good weigh in today.
-
Down 1 pound today to 168.2. It's a little but I'll take it, especially after the pecan pie over the Memotial Day weekend!
Wishing the best for everyone else.
Peggy -
Up 1.5 to 162.5 - had a wonderful bridal shower weekend for my daughter, and the scale shows it!
-
The same this week but had great weekend away and lots of eating out.
-
Down 1, back to 131. It was 133 late last week, so I'm happy. The first time I weighed it was 128, but that was not believable. Sure enough when I removed the screw that had gotten under the scale, it was 131.
-
OK.....starting the 6 pounds in 6 weeks challenge. I think I am a week late, so it will be 6 pounds in 5 weeks (1 of those pounds should be easy though as it is all graduation receptions cake!
-
Pat, bridal showers are worth every ounce! Too bad DD is only 13.
Stable here.
-
Maintained from last week which is a minor miracle considering how much I ate (and drank) over the long weekend. But I was merry too so it's all good.
6 in 6 challenge status: 2 lbs down 4 to go
-
Still up a tad. Need to join the 6 week/6 lb challenge but been very sluggish. I'll try.
-
Stayed the same. How am I supposed to be down 10 in 3 weeks at this rate???!! ;-)
-
Down half a kilo. Now that the sun is out, I'll be spending more time outdoors far from the kitchen. I'll join you guys in the challenge. What week are we in now?
-
168.8, gained a half a pound...the dark chocolate has to go for now, I think. You can have too much of a good thing.
On the plus side, am building more muscle!
Peggy -
Down two more.
Yay!
Pants are starting to feel the difference. :-) -
down two.....I guess not eating cake every day DOES make a difference
.
Not sure what week the 'Down 6' is in as I just started this week too. When is our target date?
-
no change - 162.5 And now I'm eating cookies! I don't remember when we started either, but I think instead of down I am up.
-
Staying pretty steady the last few months - in about a 5 lb range. Rode my spinning bike, did my dumbells, and prepared a healthy dinner last night despite being quite fatigued, stressed, and grouchy. It really helped. 2 hours later I had relieved my stress and had some good nutrition in me. It was very good for my well-being. The alternative - depressed on the couch with poor food choices - just isn't where I want to be. It helped me that I have a stressful long day today and I knew if I didn't exercise and eat healthy last night that today would be a lot more difficult all around. Plus, I have a business dinner so no exercising today. Got to get it where we can!
-
The same but was waiting on results so not a good girl.
-
Ali,
We understand! Did you get your results? -
Down 1 to 130. This was my original goal weight. I think I'm still overweight (can definitely pinch an inch). We'll see if I can keep it at 130. I keep bouncing up.
-
Yes, got the all clear for cancer of the womb.
Just been to yoga and feel great. -
Great to hear!
-
great news ali68!
We're halfway through the six-week challenge. Aim for the 4th of July.
I'm down 1 this week so that makes 3 pounds in 3 wks so right on track!
-
Yesterday I was 158.5. Today 159.5. Would love to be down to 155 by June 18 when we depart to head north with our 5th wheel rv for the summer. Looking for cooler temps. Summers are really hard for weight control because we eat at restaurants more than when we're home We do exercise. Golf, bicycling, walking. It just gets harder and harder with aging.
I discussed going off arimidex when I had recent apptment with bc dr. NP. I'm almost 4 yrs. She urged me to take it another year and dh is in agreement. So....
-
OK ladies, I have just re-signed up for www.loseit.com
I have eating too much, being good a few days, eating too much, like Carole says, summer presents so many eating opportunities.....I need the accountability! (plus loseit 'lets' you eat more if you have burned some calories off by exercise).
