Tammy, I hear you on some work weeks. I'm glad I only work part time. Have a fun weekend.
I've been learning about Pinterest lately. I was searching for my kids upcoming weddings for ideas & such. I came across a 10 minute arm toning exercise circuit. I did it tonight for the 1st time, wow....I need to keep this up so I can wear my gown & not be so self conscious. Fitsugar.com if anyone is interested. -
Tenaj, this is an interesting website..... A 10 minute arm workout sounds do-able.... I liked the quote "Excuses don't burn calories"....how true!!!! Keep us up to date on your progress.....
I think I need the "tense and tight shoulder workout"....my surgery has made my left shoulder worse than ever.....
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! -
Hi Ladies,
Kathy I'm so sorry to hear that you had shingles - painful indeed. I got shingles after getting the vaccine - go figure! So happy that you are feeling better. Just said a prayer for continued healing for you.
We are headed back home now to the NC mtns. We so enjoyed spending the last few days with family and our precious Erin. I also enjoyed shopping with my sister and celebrating her birthday. We shopped til we dropped! It was a blast. I bought quite a few clearance item pieces of clothing. There aren't many stores that I like for clothing where I live, so this was a real treat.
Hope all of you lovely ladies enjoy your weekend. We should be home by noon and I am so looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight. -
Hi, Tammy, hope your left shoulder heals and that you are pain free soon!!
Rocket, thank you so much for your get well wishes!! You have been through so much too!! I am so glad that you had a wonderful time with family, and especially your precious granddaughter, Erin! Sleep well tonight!!
Hi, Tenaj, thank you for your get well wishes!!! Your advice of resting and drinking lots of water has sure helped!!! Hope the wedding plans are going great!!!!
Hi, to everyone here!! Miss you, Jaytee, ATeamNana, CookieMonster!!!!! -
I've been super busy and AWOL. It sounds like everyone is doing well. I'm back on WW, losing about 1 lb per week. I think I've found what works for me. I just hope I can stick to it!
Hugs to everyone.
-
Hi CookieMonster! It is great to hear from you & that you are doing well!! Keep up the good work.
Kindergarten, I hope you are feeling better everyday.....Sending healing thoughts & prayers your way.
It is still so cold here with the wind off the ocean I can't bring myself to ride my bike. I've been doing lots of yard work & I have been doing those arm circuit exercises for the past 3 days & already see an improvement in my arms. I've been eating pretty well, lots of salads & low carbs, I hope to see some positive movement with the scale this week.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone :-)

Hi, Tenaj, Thank you so much for your get well wishes!! I am feeling so much better!! My doc put me on Neurotin and I actually walked 6 miles yesterday ! Hubby, son and I walked the Crop Walk for Hunger!! Our church had a team!! I am sore but feeling good!!! You have been eating great, and I am sure you will see great results on the scale!!! Those arm exercises sound fantastic!!!! Is the program on-line?
CookeMonster, so glad you are doing well on WW! It is a great program!! I am also averaging about a pound a week, too!!!
Happy Sunday, everyone!!!! -
Google popsugar.com & search 10 minute workouts under fitness. The site has some interesting things on fitness.
-
Thank you so much, Tenaj!!!!

Tomorrow I'm doing run/ walk to raise funds for breast cancer research. I'llbe thinking of everyone!
-
Have a fun day & enjoy tomorrow Tammy.
Enjoy the weekend ladies. Happy Mother's Day! -
Tammy, thank you for walking for such a great cause!!! Have fun!!! Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!! Hugs and Blessings to All!!! Kathy
-
Happy Mother's Day!!
Well, I completed the 4km in 28 min 10 sec and I am very proud of myself! I actually ran most of the way which is a good effort considering that this is the first event I have ever entered, I am new to running this year and my hip has been sore. Even better I raised $300 for breast cancer research!
On a less positive note I then enjoyed a few extra calories.....but I can get back on track with eating tomorrow :-)
Hope everyone has a wonderful day..... -
Congratulations, Tammy!!! You should be very proud of yourself!! Job well done!!!
-
Congratulations Tammy! Great job!
Happy Mother's Day everyone. Unfortunately I'm off to work in a bit. Oh well....no breakfast in bed this AM...lol -
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
Congratulations Tammy - great job!
I have been offline for several days as we have been traveling. In fact I'm at the airport now waiting for our first flight back home. I am SO tired! Can't wait to get home and sleep in my own bed.
Enjoy your day Ladies! -
Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!! Tenaj, so sorry you have to work today!!!!! Rocket, have a safe home and sleep well!!!!

I need some help.
I've gotten into a bad habit of eating a "bad" snack or two after dinner. Any suggestions on how to break the habit?? -
Hey. Tammy!! I have done the same thing, but I read somewhere to chew sugarless gum after each meal! It has helped me and it evens helps my heartburn!!! Hope that helps!!!
-
I tend to plan what I am going to eat for the entire day ahead of time, including snacks. So for snacks after dinner, while watching tv for instance, I will have an apple, some carrot sticks with fat free dressing, and some air-popped popcorn. Usually I will pick two of those items and eat them without any guilt whatsoever. It takes time to eat an apple as well as the popcorn. Once in a while I'll have a small portion of jelly beans. I just don't like feeling deprived of snacking while watching television, so I try to choose low calorie snacks. Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are low calorie too and you don't feel deprived while others are having their big bowls of ice cream.
-
Rocket, I love Skinny Cow ice cream :-)
Thanks for the tips Kathy and Rocket. I'll let you know if I improve! -
Tammy, you will do great!!!!!!
-
I know you can do this Tammy.

Happy Friday ladies, I hope all are doing well. I've been MIA not only because I'm incredibly busy but I have not had great results on the scale.....I don't have much to share except my failure to loose weight so I've been staying away. It must be the tamoxifen that is doing this because I eat very well now, I know if I ate like this pre BC I would have been skinny! I eat healthy & MUCH fewer calories. I think I need to ramp up the exercise......I'm just afraid that my hip pain will return.....guess ill give it a try. Need to gt on the bike more! I saw my MO yest for my lupron injection & when I mentioned it she didn't say anything :-(
Kathy, I hope you're feeling better & having success on your weigh in.
Tammy, did you get to try the skinny cow?
Rocket, hopefully your all caught up on your rest & are pain free.
Hi CookieMonster, ATeamNana & Jaytee....enjoy the weekend! -
Hi, Tenaj!!! It is always so good to see you here! Hey, don't fret, it just sounds like your body is in maintenance mode!! Maybe some water retention!!!! Mine is too!! I have not gained or lost!!! Exercise does help, but I have been only walking!! I am sure you do not want the hip pain to return, go gently on yourself. Hang in there!!!!
Good morning to Jaytee, CookieMonster, Rocket, ATeamNana and Tammy!!
It is OK to slip and slide, just don't give up, right????
Hugs, Kathy -
Kathy, I agree that it is just about not giving up!
Tenaj, I have followed Rocket's suggestion and been having a yummy Skinny Cow after dinner. Highly recommended :-)
Tenaj, I've noticed that since I've been on Tamoxifen I am constantly looking to snack. I too have put on a little weight but with a few tips like the Skinny Cow and Kathy's suggestion of sugarless gum I think I can get it under control. I'm not a big gum fan but it made me think of sugarless mints which I now have after lunch.
I've also gotten right back into exercise. I too had a very sore hip but I have invested in new shoes and orthotics and I have been working hard to strengthen my hip and buttock area with exercises from my physio. It has been an expensive journey but I am feeling so much fitter and happier and my hip is holding up well. It has also taken time so as Kathy has suggested be gentle on yourself and hang in there....
Have a great weekend everyone! -
Good day ladies! Thanks for the support, again :-)
I'm prepping today for my 1st colonoscopy tomorrow. I'm looking on the bright side & hoping I loose a little weight...lol. I am 53 & never had the test done because I was busy as you all are familiar with trying to rid myself of this disease. I do confess that I'm already trying to decide what I want to eat on the way home. So far pizza is leading....
Enjoy your Sunday & the upcoming week!
((((Hugs)))) -
Dearest Janet!!! Yes, the prepping definitely helps you lose weight!! You will do great tomorrow, and have whatever your heart desires for food tomorrow!!!! You deserve it!!!!
Please let us know how everything went!!!!! Kathy -
Missing Jaytee, Rocket , and ATeamNana!!!!! Hope you are doing well!!!

Hi Girls,
I have been MIA as we had company this past weekend. An old and dear friend and her husband who now live in my hometown in Maine came to visit us. I was still getting over whatever weird illness I had and it has left me exhausted. It started with a mild sore throat, then I developed a fever and extreme nausea, and then progressed to swollen lymph glands on one side of my neck which thankfully resolved. I do feel better, but am extremely fatigued, emotional and depressed. I think the illness took its toll and now I just need more rest.
I haven't even weighed myself lately. I'm scared that I have put back on the weight I lost. I keep losing the same pounds over and over. UGH! I haven't exercised in a while because I am so tired. After I get some rest I plan to jump back in. I will go to my pool class tomorrow and maybe that will energize me. I'm planning on veggies for dinner tonight too. I did eat some dark chocolate today, and it tasted wonderful.
Hope all you ladies are doing okay. I care for each of you and think of you often. Hang in there Gals, we can do this together. Nobody gets to quit! :-) (even if we feel like it sometimes). Love you Ladies!
