Fumi... I'm sorry to hear that you have LE ... I know how distressing and emotional it is to hear that ... as unfortunately I know all too well what it means ... as I have LE of my breast and left arm. I'm right handed ... I never realized just how much I use my left hand/arm for things. Binney is a treasure... she knows soooo much about LE - and she's incredibly supportive and compassionate - she's got truncal LE and LE in both arms ...
LE is a big learning curve - and we'll help you ... Npat, Andy and others have been dealing with LE for some time and have lots of helpful suggestions...
gentle hugs, you'll feel better about this when you start learning about it - when you learn MLD and have garmets to keep the swelling in check. My lymphedema therapist has LE and doesn't wear her garmets unless she's exercising .. hers in not painful ...
I'm in training this weekend - training to be a Y-Me volunteer - and have met 2 other women (in a class of < 10 people) who have LE ... they say its' about 10% of women with axillary node disections that eventually develop LE ... I think this is grossly underestimated ...
Off track - anyway... I'm really sorry to hear the news ...
Also sad to hear that you won't let us keep your eye candy warm for you .... ! What's up with that ??? (just kidding...)
Hugs,
Doreen -
Ohhh Fumi! I am so sorry. You are my hero and I want you to take care of this just like you have taken care of everything else. You are in my heart sweetie.
Denise -
So now you should be prepared. It appears that I've got myself back. I got an email from my sweetest oncologist and he reminded me of how I have handled this all ordeal. He said I have made him consider me like a family member and different than other patients. What else could I have wished for? I'm so honored to be able to walk this journey with him. Yes, what happened did happen. I can't change anything that has happened. All I can do is think about how to deal with this and how to manage this, right? I can't handle everything that the future holds. I can only take it one day at a time. Now my swelling isn't too big so what I should do now is make every effort to stop it from growing. Life is too short to waste my time to worry about what may or may not happen in the future. I would rather spend my time wondering what my hotties wear under their kilts!
So where's the party? When it begins? You know you've got me started!!! -
jeez fumi...........another bum deal and as always you handle it with grace, dignity, humour and compassion..........you're truly something special!
-
Fumi, sorry about the LE news - hope you find a therapist who helps you control it so it's not too much of a bother.
Am glad to hear you're going to AU this year - run away and stay there! (lol) -
Fumi,
So sorry about the LE. I know that you will handle just the way shel38 has said. Sending good vibes your way.
Lini -
Fumi did you ever see Mel Gibson in braveheart ?
Oh my gosh what a honey !!!
(and he is wearing kilts !)
Carrie -
Fumi - Is your onc. married???? Just wondering. Sounds like he's a keeper!! He's been so good to you this past year! Glad to hear you sounding strong again. {{{{Fumi}}}}
Carrie - In Braveheart, didn't Mel & his buddies "moon" the other guys??? (or is that another Mel Gibson-wearing-a-kilt movie?)
Have a goood night,
Wendy -
Fumi -- I am trying to locate my favorite picture of the St. Louis Steamers Soccer team. They used it in advertising a couple of years ago (very briefly), but I can't seem to locate it. If I find it, I'll post it ASAP.
-
Oh yes they did Wendy, but I don't know if he used a stunt butt or not ???
Carrie -
You know what is under those kilts?????
Fumi glad to know you can handle all the hotties and your journey is going well. Focus on the future not the past, you are sooo strong! -
Gee Fumi, I said almost the same thing to you and you didn't mention THAT! It's not because I'm not an attractive, personable, caring, selfless, oncologist who probably wears kilts at home, is it? LOL
Denise -
Goodness! I went away for a few days and Mel Gibson came to visit!?! I missed all the fun!!
-
I found it! I just seem to get it to post! AARRGH! Anyone want to give some advice?
-
I'm glad you found it Blu, but I am hopeless at getting photos to post. Carrie knows how ~ but she may be in bed. Send her a PM to ask her how to do it and hopefully we'll see this photo VERY SOON!!
-
Here you go Fumi . . . hope you like soccer!
-
Those are really nice looking balls...
you don't see too many balls like that in soccer!!
These ones really jump out and grab you!! -
Blu watch it your Momma's are watching you !
I"m still up! hmmm suddenly I feel the urge to watch a soccer game? -
And to think this was on a few billboards around St. Louis for the start of the 2004 season!
-
Were there many traffic accidents!!??
-
Sorry gals but I'm starting to feel so crappy again. I don't want to think that I belong to the boards where the administrator lets the trolls win. I don't seem to be able to call here my home anymore.
-
I am with you Fumi. So sad.
Carrie -
To me, the way this was handled is way more disgusting than what trolls actually did or tried to do. I did believe that we had our board administrator understand us. Now I'll just have to admit that I was totally wrong.
-
Carrie -- I think I remember there were. Maybe that's why they didn't stay up too long!
Fumi -- (((HUG))) -
Just found this thread...hope I'm not intruding. Just wanted to send gentle hugs to Fumi. I'm too am in utter disbelief at our administrator's response.
I noticed somebody on another thread asking about folding hand-fans...they must have been looking at those soccer hotties
{{{fanning myself}}}
Donna -
You're not intruding at all!! And the title of this thread encompasses every "what the heck" out there. This is definitely a what the heck. Is this really a democracy? I just choose to believe that we didn't lose. We spoke up, we said what needed to be said. If someone else thinks he's more "clever"? It's not for us to decide his comeuppance. That will be determined at some future point. I believe very strongly in karma. And what will happen will happen. In the meantime, I think we just continue to be supportive of one another, of the new people coming here and make sure that the "misinformation" is corrected as it happens. There are enough of us here that I think we can do that. No, I believe and I know that we can. And we will.
Fumi, it's disappointing to be sure. And it hurts when you realize that the person you should be able to go to with the truth doesn't hear it. Just remember, that the rest of us do...we know the truth and we spread the truth. -
Soccer has long been my favorite sport. Now you know why.
-
I've copied and pasted this post from Melissa in the Debate It forum .... If you have specifics - you should consider PMing her ...
Quote:
I am not blaming YOU. I am simply trying to carefully tease apart ALL the issues, posts and threads. I welcome all PMs that are inappropriate. It would help me to better understand.
I have read all the posts to the best of my ability. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to understand ALL perspectives. Please feel free to PM me to help out.
Many thanks,
Melissa -
Thought I'd better delete what I had written here.
All I can say is enough is enough. I don't want to hear anymore excuses. They didn't get it, that's all that matters. Who cares why they didn't? -
Fumi nope it does look that way, but I am holding out for
the truth to set us free in the end.
Some very smart ladies pointed out if our voices fall silent then and only then have you lost.
(thank you smart ladies)
Hugs Fumi and everyone ~
Carrie
