Good evening ladies hope everyones day was great. Spent the day with my 19 year old son which doesn't happen often so it was really good.
Get to go to dinner with some friends tonight that I've known forever margaritas here we come.
Tomorrow going to see the PS thinking I will get my first fill a little nervous about after effects. Any insight on what to expect?
-
Hi all,
Maria, fills are not bad, but take some pain medication like Tylenol half an hour before you go for the fill. Then you won't feel a thing. You will be amazed at how your boob visibly grows as PS puts in the saline - it was really funny, and I giggled uncontrollably. Maybe nerves had something to do with it . . .you will be fine.
That last picture was so funny, Edi. Seems all the scientists are men who have only one thing on their brains - lol. Time for them to get less selfish! Hope you won big at Bingo! How's Johnny behaving?
Nihahi, the dog destroyed two 'bleeding heart' plants, and a lot of hostas that were just peeking through. This is right by the front door. To add insult to injury, DH organized a man to come and fix our refrigerator door this morning, and he expected me to remember to leave the front door unlocked when I left home so the guy could get in. Man drove 20 minutes out here to find a locked door with nobody home. So I'm in even deeper trouble now - lol. Chemo brain unfortunately doesn't cut it for DH any more. Weather here still glorious - 21 degrees today. Will take dog for another walk with DH to cool him down. Will also cook him a nice dinner - can you tell I feel guilty as hell?
Carla, happy you're almost done with chemo. Yes, there will be a period of feeling unsettled now that active treatments are finished, but the Tamoxifen is also a treatment, and the best weapon in your arsenal to prevent a recurrence. Line up a few nice things to do every day next week to celebrate - it will help! If you're like me after Taxotere, you will still feel weak/breathless with rubber leg 'syndrome' for a few weeks, but that will pass too. Hang in there!
Luvmygoats, we don't care that you are a sporadic poster just as long as you check in from time to time! Good to hear you are doing well. You are like me; I also need alone time when I can just be by myself.
My week suddenly got busy. Have to work at a walk-in clinic tomorrow and Friday, and Saturday have to play organ for a funeral. So put in a good practise this morning - wonder how many calories one burns playing organ for 2 hours - lol. Then went to the gym for 50 minutes of cardio.
It is so beautiful outside this time of year with all the birds returning for summer. Nihahi, we even have fish eagles who sometimes will come and sit near the house in a tree. The blue herons are so stately and elegant, but they catch the fish in the fishpond, so we chase them away. There's Canada geese gaggling and fighting - mating time - and a family of red robins who return every year. The yard comes alive - so wonderful. Also have a feisty squirrel who gets his own peanuts in a litttle basket every day - so cute to watch. He would empty the bird feeder within two days, so we got one that's squirrel-proof. Felt too sorry for him, hence the peanuts. Life is good, and nature is always so amazing . . . just so very grateful to be able to experience and appreciate it. It is almost as if I'm seeing it with new eyes.

Hello Warrior Sisters! Edi, loved the pics! Carla, will be in your pockets tomorrow - last one, woo hoo! Rads going great, only 12 more to go, getting pink but no discomfort yet. Benny, prayers for you that it's going as well.
You are all in my thoughts every day. -
Hello Darling sisters,
Edi won at Bingo !!!! full house £ 30,00 better than belt in the mouth as my Mum used to say .
Came home feeling really tired despite three naps. DH on MY NETBOOK ! muttering because the water feature was a bit of disaster,( theres a surprise, not.) When unpacked looks like it was a return. dents in beautiful chrome tubes so DH not happy bunny.
We took photos of problems and when the e,bay seller receives them they will send us new on and collect faulty one.
Photos couldnt be loaded on ???? so DH seething. Edi went to bed lol.
He is working early shift, yay ! so can catch up with things before it all starts again.HELP.
Feeling pretty good
today and hope you are all the same. Johny Cash day, hope he decides not to visit.
ED has infected sinuses after nasty cold, GD has chest infection too. Both on anti biotics so hopefully will improve soon.
Ed's bifold doors fitted yesterday, look gorgeous, her partner is like DH, there is a mark on them and the wrong handle has been fitted. Think most man should all be sent to same desert island ha ha.Luvmy, So lovely to hear from you, wow you are one busy lady. So sorry about your dear goat going over the rainbow bridge.
lovely that DH there for support.
Will gladly send my DH to sort out your yard. Can promise that you would be letting weird plants strangle him afetr a few days.lol.
Baba goats coming on great, pics would be lovely if you can.
Know what you mean about losing stuff in the house, do it all the time.DH asks what you looking for I say nothing because he "helps" i.e. turns all drawers and cupboards upside down.
and it is usually somewhere stupid like still in the car.
Have a lovely day. xxWill have a catch up later with you all, must go and tackle pile of laundry xx
-

So true, thanks again to Carla via facebook xx
-

For my cyber baby girl Tracy chin up chick xxx
-

Beats Johny Cash lol x
-
Edi- love them all!!!! Off to the dr for my post op. day off of work anyway !! Have a great day warrior friends !!!!
-
hey lovely ladies...
Well was a public holiday here. had an absolutely relaxing day with DH and DS.
Just quickly popping in to say hi and a big congrats to Carla for having her last treatment today...whoo hoo you did it girl
so proud of you xx As for the recon, you will know what you want to do at the time, there's plenty of time to think about it and research. I'm just going for straight in implants no TE's ( these babies sure don't need to be expanded) lol....I know down the track if I do want to go ahead and do what these courageos girls have done and do the DIEP one then I can do it...just not right for me now, I want quick fix, quick recovery!!Edi, yeh you got a full house and called out bingo....and to come home seeing your DH on your net book would have been priceless, you're telling me he found your secret stash under the cushions!!! Love the pics Edi.....x
Jennie, wow, you're almost done, 12 more treatments and you will be nice and rosey and done with rads

Luvmy, sorry to hear about your goat

Maria, glad you got to spend time with your son. Good luck with your appointment.
Movie, hope you are doing well and full of energy....I'm a little tired again today. Its 12;45am here, guess i should sleep up for my DH kinder tomorrow early start at 9am....so I have 4 hours to myself...ummm rest....noooo, coming back home to wash the floor and general stuff that I can do in an hour not 4 hours with DH home...lol
Liefie, good luck with loosing those calories playing the organ...umm maybe in your fingers...lol
Nihahi, how are you feeling now? How is your DD has she moved in (I'm not sure if I've missed any posts with you saying she has or still sorting out her belongings at your place) I know what you mean re waiting scenarios and then everything will seem to be a rush....I get all flustered when I go out to get the mail incase there is a letter from the hospital there, then I think well it needs to be done, but that ultimate feeling of 'getting the date ' will make it official i guess.....I know it sounds crazy...but I guess i am getting anxious now, I'm even biting off my DH's head at the drop of a hat, I'm amazed he hasn't kicked me out yet...lol
Scottiee, hope you doing good.
Ok girls, off to bed I go...enjoy your day all.
-
A real quick check-in again, sending hugs and love to all!
Edi - love all the pics but the camel one is my favorite
, hope Johnny Cash doesn't show for his performance today. Rest up!
Luvmygoats - adding my condolences, good to read your update
Nihahi - good to see you posting again, hope that you are seeing improvements daily.
Liefie - busy, busy days for you, sounds like life is good - with the exception of a digging dog
Traii - extra hugs, add my kicks to all the others for that PS
Carlads - big congratulations on last chemo. You will have mixed feelings like all of us do, it seems that while you are going for treatments you are doing something. There were lots of appointments and attention and all of a sudden you feel like you have been abandons and are on your own - all normal feelings. Wishing you minimal side effects with tamoxifen and any reconstruction you choose to undertake
Caitlin - how ar things going with you
Benny is over halfway through her rads now, very similar to Jennie.
Dakota - glad you have a day off, spoil yourself
Bearcub, movie and everyone else - sending you wishes for a good day -
Carlads - happy dance for u !!!
-
Traii, just for fun I googled how many calories one burns with various activities - for organ playing it is 86 calories an hour. Not too bad! But it goes much quicker in the gym. . . LOL. At this stage calorie burn does not worry me any more. Just getting the exercise is what counts, right?
Edi, that camel picture is sooo hilarious! Yay on the Bingo win!
Will talk more later. Have to shower and get ready - I'm a working girl today.
-
Okay math skills are seriously lacking edi how much did u win in US dollars ?
-
Lol liefie 86 calories!! You make me laugh

Websister thankyou! Hows mum...bed back at your place now?
Dakota hope your post appt went well and you had fun the rest if the day!
-
Fighting fatigue today, but wanted to say congrats to carla for the final chemo. We ALL understand the mixed emotions of it. Take your time with reconstruction decisions. Maybe you will be happy with doing nothing, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that decision. My advice would be to wait until you have "lived" with your new body for awhile, while you feel well. Then you'll know if you're "done" or wanting something different.
-
Hello ladies,
Edi I love the pics.
Carlads woo hoo for you way to get through the journey.
Dakota I hope your apt. went well. Let us know
Traii glad you had a relaxing day.
My first fill went well way easier then I thought it would be.
Weather here in Denver is starting to look up went for a nice walk with the Dh, Son and Beagle after dinner. Trying to get out and walk I'm use to being on my feet all day and walking lots at work. This is only week 3 of no work and I'm really going stir crazy.
-
Glad the fill went smoothly for you Maria.
Enjoy the time with the family...being off work can be a little crazy because you have so mych time on your hands....i worked 3 days a week through out chemo...that was holiday time for me as i have a 3yr old...lol -
Congrats to you, Carlads! Happy for you that it is all done! I did not have to do chemo, but after taking the drastic action of a BMX, I was expecting to be put on the drug for menopausal women that is like Tamoxifen. My MO said "No need".....made me very nervous. I got a second opinion-same result. Yet even after that, I am fearful that I have not killed the bitch. Maybe with time we will get over the fear....I hope so!
Liefie-you are so going to be ready for DIEP! Like Nihahi, you are very active, and will be able to deal with the physical challenges the surgery brings with it. Plus, I love your attitude! :-)
Maria-glad your fill went well, and that you are doing well. Glad the weather has improved there in Denver....my 24 yr. old daughter lives in Ft. Collins, and mentioned that it was warming up there. :-)
Traii-glad you got the day off.....and got to enjoy with the family.....the day you get your date we will ALL be celebrating....I am sending vibes to the PS to get going and get you on the books! Waiting sucks!!! :-(
Dakota-I'm guessing Edi won about $45 or so.....I could do with that! Hope post-op went well, and healing on track.....you gorgeous girl, you!
Nihahi-you will read my post on the DIEP board....and to that I will add on the blue days I would imagine myself on my favorite hike in the world so far.....(Iceberg Lake-I'm sure you know that)I have done it enough I can imagine walking along it in my minds eye....actually very soothing, if slightly crazy. I am sending you a cyber (((hug))) and a note to be kind to yourself-you are so much further ahead of where I was at this time.....you are doing great!
Edi, lovely Edi......put that money on something just for YOU!! You sweet lady! (And lucky, too!) Your DH and ED's DH sound like my worst nightmare (when I was and Interior Designer)
Oh well, can't blame them, they want to get their money's worth......when my husband puts up a stink about something, I usually just want to crawl in the closest hole, and pull the top in after me.....seriously, it's ridiculous! I hope you are doing well......and I loved your pics....especially the camel! I laughed so hard my ab incision hurt for a few minutes! I am starting to save my pennies to show up on your step! :-) I am trying to get a new business off the ground....so kind of crazy (Not the wedding business-can't do that without you ladies!), and I have my 3.5 month appt. with PS on May 1st.....afraid he is going to want to start the "tweaking" process sooner rather than later.....as he mentioned May at the first meeting......so I have a lot on my plate right now.....not really sure WHAT I want to do.....only thing that could postpone it is if he feels the scars aren't healed enough (I know I can refuse to do it, but not sure I can afford to wait too long, as I have yet another surgery after this one, for "touch up".) Will let you all know (of course)what he says....I may need advice-so many angles to consider.
Websister, Caitlin, Jenny, and all-hope you have a wonderful evening, night! :-)
Namaste and God bless - Jackie

Hi girls
Edi feeling GOOD, DH at work might be part of the reason LOL.
Fun packed couple of days. Johny visited a few times but couple of immodium sorted him out.
Popped up to school to give GD some anti biotics at lunch time. They won't do it. Got lovely hug and kiss, she took meds good as gold and Nana slipped some choc buttons into her pocket.
ED just been to do the same and was told not to forget the choc buttons or else.
Was bit weary last night abd DH watching Footie ( yuk ) went into back room and curled up under blanket with cushion over ear to block sound of tv in other room. Was in the middle of a cracking sleep and was rudely awakened by DH who wanted the freakin photos of water feature sent and as he can't do it I get the job of asking savvy neighbour to do the job. He came as near to being murdered as he has ever been. He had a bit of a tummy bug so he couldn't leave the house.
This morning lots of pleasant workmen arrived, fire been changed for easier to use model. Of course DH found a fault, it wasn't the front he had ordered
thought lovely gas man was going to bash him.It looks gorgeous and Edi likes it so TOUGH !!
Got cake order off gas man too. yay.Dakota, how did app go ? According to my calculator won 55 USD.You are amazing and an example to all. Hope you and your girls getting along really well xx
Nihahi, Fatigue yuk, hope you feel good soon.Shedman popped in yesterday. He gets results next Wednesday, he is convinced it is only some kind of hernia, the docs have said they haven't a clue so far.
You keep resting and getting back to your normal ballsey self xxMaria, Glad you like pics .
Hope margaritas were good. weather here improving too bit of sunshine but still cool.
Lovely you spent time with your DH, mine is coming on his own soon, can't wait. xxJennie, great that rads ok, My boob bit pink now finished but lots of aquaeous cream doing the trick.xx
Carla hope no se's after last one CONGRATULATIONS !!xx
Traii, quick fix spot on for you with DS and work etc.
DH and netbook omg could have flattened him !! he calls it for everything but won't go in cold back room to use his dinasour type one.
Sure your DH adores you and biting his head off is small price to pay for you being back to your oldself,xxLiefie, fridge door story hilarious, so like here.dog digging up plants OMG my DH would have buried the dog.
85 cals playing the organ, wonder what sitting on your butt drinking tea does.?xx
Movie, sure the bxxxh is vanquished, keep positive, you have to be on my doorstep one day soon.
What is new business ??
Sorry camel caused pain xxWebsister, glad you liked camel too. How is your Mom ?thanks for heads up on Benny, so happy she is getting there. x
All other beautiful sisters love and hugs xxx
-

For beautiful Carla, well done fellow warrior xx
-
That awesome edi !!!
-
That is super cool Edi
-
Edi, just for the heck of it, sitting burns about 75 calories per hour. But for you it will be more, because you are using you arm to bring the cup to your mouth . . . I would not recommend this as your only exercise. LOL! That cake is a beautiful work of art.
Movie, when I hear about more surgeries I wanna run away. Maybe I will have the remaining boob tweaked a little a few months after DIEP if, and only if, necessary, but that's it! Just had my pre-op visit with my family dr. this afternoon, and they're also seeking blood from me on Monday. The whole rigmarole all over again, and it brings back unpleasant memories. Surgery cannot come soon enough so I can just be done with it. Best wishes with the new business!
Maria, glad your first fill went well. It's not a big deal. I felt absolutey nothing as my TE boob was (and still is!) totally numb. Only discomfort was the following few days as the skin stretched, but that usually settled after two days or so.
-
Hi Everyone,
Edi- Love my cake!!
Thank you everyone for all the end of Chemo wishes! I will be back to catch up on everyone!!
Love you all,
Carla
-
Edi.....that is one beautiful cake! Can I order one up for after my Stage 2? :-) Business is right up my alley....I do medicine when I have to, but prefer natural solutions if at all possible. A friend of mine has an essential oil business, and I am helping her to expand it here. I have had too many positive experiences with them to pass them off as 'snake oil'......including alleviating pain after my surgery and post opioid meds......I have already written up over $1000 in orders and haven't been at it even a week! Almost all can be injested in either capsules or dropped in water, etc., and they are so pure you can rub them into the soles of your feet and within minutes the oil is in the body.....anyway.....that is it in a nutshell....I'm in no hurry, but people are coming to me. :-) Hope it doesn't all fall apart when I go in for Stage 2......
Liefie-re: surgery.....I know exactly where you are coming from.......try to get as much done in one surgery as possible, then you may not have to face a second one......I am going to have to psyche myself to step foot in the surgery center.......but, we will get through this!
Well, it is getting dark here, and the dogs are clamoring to go for a walk.....DH was supposed to go, but is snoring away (road drilling?-Edi?)
(((Hugs))) to all.....

Hi girls dh on early start so stayed starfishing in bed, didn't expect to go back to sleep bit DID !! woke at almost 9 am. so about 10 hours sleep altogether feel like a new woman. Bet DH wishes I was. ha ha.
Only yuk bit two huge mouth ulcers have erupted on bottom lip, good news is they don't interfere with tea intake.
Took tablets prescribed Tuesday every six hrs for six doses, even through the night but hey ho. Knew I should have done my bicard/salt mouthwash but didnt
Have started now and sitting with corron ball soaked in solution on them, ( not a pretty sight ).
No workmen at weekend so cookie jar getting a rest.
May have GD later YAY Ed and partner going to look at sofas in Liverpool, even though she is quiet as a mouse still easier to leave her with Nana, got popcorn and are having a Movie at Nan's.Liefie, you sound a bit nervous ? don't blame you but you are one tough cookie and will steam through anything they do to you. Think the fear is worse than the experience, know when i had my op I was rigid with terror but it was really a great experience. Know yours is very different but everything crossed for you.xx
Movie, Working on cake design for you after stage 2.
Oils are wonderful and you will soon be able to afford the jet for wedding business lol.
I had a sore and swollen hand after nurse missed vein my lovely Reiki/Aromotherapist made me a cream with lavender oil added and next day totally back to normal. I often put oil on cotton pad and inhale when stressed too.
She swears by them and so do so many of her clients.
Road Drills such fun, not.
You like Liefie are one tough cookie xxCarla, well done to be all through, hope no se's xx
Gonna rest and have fun today, hope all sisters do the same xx
-

Giggle for the day sisters xx
