    Good morning

    Great new avatar Dakota!

Edi - love your posts! Too bad you didn't have a picture of your husband getting the hand massage - that would be priceless ;) The roofer 'lads' sound sweet.

Liefie - hope you get out from under that paperwork soon. Sounds beautiful there, we are very slowly looking like we might move into spring here. Your DD sounds wonderful, glad she will be there with you for DIEP

Dakota - glad you are doing well. Hope DS better soon and doesn't share

I got a phone call last evening saying they are discharging Mom today. Nurse didn't know if any changes to amount of care at lodge or anything so today I have lots of follow up to do to see what's going on. They want me to pick her up by 11.

    Take care everyone

Websister, hope Mom's discharge goes smoothly today, and that things at the lodge will be in place. She's had a rough time, as did you, and you guys deserve some peace now, and the knowledge that she is well cared for. Just got an e-mail from my SIL in S.A. that they have visited my mom 3 times in the last two weeks, and that she is doing well under the circumstances. It helps to know that.

Dakota, what a beautiful woman you are! Hope DS gets better soon, and good luck with exterminator.

Edi, I'm praying that nothing will upset the funeral of Maggie Thatcher or the London Marathon. Enough innocent people have died already in this senseless war. Sounds as if remodelling is contagious - did you guys get it from your daughter? New roof - house will look like new, and will be good to go for many years. Please don't let any old roof tiles hit the plants in the garden as they throw them off the roof - my DH prowled outside like a lion when we had it done a few years ago, but some plants got damaged nevertheless . . . it's the nature of the beast, LOL. Maybe you should go visit somewhere for a week until it's all done?

My prayers are going out to all those who have been touched by the Boston bombings. Such a sad event that touches the world.

Nihiha I hope things are going well for you. Healing vibes..

Liefie, chemo for terrorists sounds like a plan. I hope your pups foot is just something minor. I have a 10 yr old Chesapeake retriever cross. They are such luvies...

Websister wow you are doing well, I will definitely ask the MO on the 30th about CoQ10.

I started out at 64 and it dropped to 58 and have another muga at the end of May. I am tempted to stop exercising through May and give my heart a rest. Hopefully that might help it go up a bit.

    Dakota happy you are safe.

Edi I hope the London marathon has no problems, stay safe.

Caitlin, Traii and everyone have a great week...

morning sisters, watching sky news and Waco blast dreadful !! Every day something happens somewhere. Good news that suspect on cctv hope they catch him quickly.
Last night here was horrendous, went to Bingo ( didnt win ) as parked the car wind was quite blustery. Came in had supper and up the apples and pears to Noddy land. While sloshing on handcream commented to DH wind getting louder. OMG that was the start of the night from Hell !! scaffolding rattling like mad, lots of booms and crashes. DH trots out and wheelie bins flying about outside ( they were emptied yesterday ) odd tile from next door on our deck. They were stacked ready for lads today. Quick as a flash he moves the love of his life, the car not Edi lol. If anything flew off and hit that he would be devestated.Just looked out and looks like a war zone !!
Surely lovely roofers can't work in this ? Temperature is improving but that was totally unexpected.
Feeling GOOD four rads to go Smile seems they are giving me boost ones for these, right on site of tumour.
Retail again this avo have to swop a few things from last time.

Websister, missed post re Mom sorry, crossing everything for you all that she settles well and safely.
You need to look after you, sounds as if you are doing really well. Life is getting better for the sisters. xx

Liefie, Glad your Mum ok too.
Bomber and chemo, what a great idea !!
Think ED and remo may have kicked DH off, hers it at last going well. I am going to look at progress over weekend. She is getting excited but of course everything costing more than expected. GD really excited to see it too.xx

Dakota, Cockroach is mad to lose someone as lovely as you, but there will be a Prince out there just for you xx

Traii, are soooo right about volunteers< special people>
have you op date yet ? xx

Bearcub, think resting that wonderful heart may be good idea. It has to keep you going for years and years after this sxxt finished lol xx

Forgot to say, DH's shed man mate was having difficulty getting food down so had a Gastronomy yesterday and they have found a bulge in the area where his stomach was removed  Cry  they have taken biopsy but his wife said the Doc and Nurses all had a strange and sad look on their faces. Prayers please sisters for a sweet man who has battled big C with such courage.xx

Subject to not blowing away will see you all later.

Nihahi, thoughts, prayers and hugs flying to you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In the chair for Taxol # 2 today. If the Benadryl hits me like last time, may be snoring in half an hour or so!

Dakota, love the new avatar - you look great!

Edi, think it's sweet that you DH went with you to rads and got a hand massage too. You're almost done! Very sorry to hear about DH's mate.

Traii, hope you have recovered from your cold. I know I asked this before, but did you ever get a final date for your surgery?

Websister, I hope you and your Mum are doing well and that you were able to get her settled back into the lodge. Thanks for asking about my MIL. DH said she seemed fine, but her situation is very serious - DH isn't sure she realizes how serious, but maybe that's a good thing. Specialist they saw agreed with MO she had already seen that radiation to control lesion on her rib should be first step. Her grand-daughter, DH's niece, is being married on Saturday, so there will be lots of family around for a few days. When I was originally going to be on 3-week chemo schedule thought we could attend - but don't expect to be in any condition to travel on Saturday.

Bearcub, nice to see you on here again! I'm not sure where my MUGA was initially, but it was only 51 (same as my age) when I finished AC - was stunned to hear that, so think I will check into CoQ10 too.

Liefie, somehow I didn't realize that your DIEP is coming up so soon. Wonderful that your DD will be with you. Will be interesting to hear how you all find DIEP - haven't decided if I will do reconstruction yet.

Nihahi, hope that you are recovering nicely and that we will hear from you soon.

Everyone else, hope you are doing well!

Caitlin...well hope the Benadryl did its job and youre now snoring in that chair!

Prob a gpod thing like you said that MIL doesnt know how serious her condition is. Glad to hear she will have lots of family around for wedding time but sad you miss out.

    Edi/caitlin

No confirmed surgery date yet. Not happy as we are getting invites for birthdays and christening and DS has his first invite to s party from one of the boys from kinder. I just want the date!!! I have rung the bc nurse last week and nothing scheduled :(

Liefie what was your surgery date again?

Nihahi thinking of you. We all are. Hope you are recovering well with aliens now gone.

Benny if you are reading..hope you are travelling well with your rads.

Bearcubs, dakota, carlads, scottiee, movie hope you ladies are well.

Dakota hope your ds is on the mend.

    Love to all xx

Caitlin, can't believe you are 51 - you do look wa-a-a-a-y younger, genuine! Good luck for taxol #2! Sad for your MIL, hope they can keep her pain free.

Surgery date is May 21, Traii, and hope you get your date soon. This waiting is stressful. Once you know when, you can start preparing yourself mentally, and get your ducks in a row.

Bearcub, so good to hear from you too. The dog is fine, and must have had something like a thorn or a pebble. Somehow it must have come out, because he's been walking me again with no problem - lol.

Edi, hold on tight so you don't get blown away - lol!

DD told me yesterday that her DH and his dad will be building her a chicken coop on Saturday, because she's going to buy 10 laying hens at a bird show this weekend. She is so excited about the eggs that she'll be getting - hope it all works out well. Then SIL came on the phone to tell me how DD won the grand prize at a charity event that they attended last Saturday night, a $3000 hunting rifle (!!!). He is so proud of her, and went on about how 'smokin' hot' (his words) she looked in the new dress he bought her . . . so good to hear they are so happy.

Have to run for a yoga class. See you all later!

Thanks for the pictures, Edi! The last one is pretty funny - hahahahaaaa! Reminds me of the guy who saw the dr because of his upset stomach. Somehow there was a mix-up with the pills, and this man received Prozac instead of Immodium. A few days later he ran into the dr who asked him how he was. He replied that he was fine. He was still s------g his pants, but he did not worry about it anymore - LOL.

It has really been much easier than expected so far. Benny, you are in my thoughts every day, I pray it's going as well for you too. And hope that computer gets fixed soon!

Glad to hear you're doing well with the rads Jenny. Great head of hair! I'm a bit behind you and Traii, but I swear there is not one ounce of pigment in the few spriggles I have - shock white! Still, hair is hair, so I'm not complaining.

Glad you were able to carve out a few hours of alone time Traii!

Traii - enjoy your alone time and I hope you get the sleep sorted out soon

Caitlin - hope you stop 'jangling' and get some rest. I'm the opposite right now, had my Herceptin about 5 pm and having trouble staying awake now

Jennie - congrats on halfway and the 'fifty shades of pink' - glad it is going so well for you. I believe Benny will be almost halfway by end for this week

Edi and Liefie - I'm sure the nurses in the chemo area were wondering why I had such a big smile on my face, I opened this thread after they got me going, saw the pics and read Liefie's story ;)

Keep them guessing, that's my motto

    Take care everyone

Darling Sisiters, (((HUGS))) flying to you ALL.
Fell into bed at 9.30pm last night, eyes crossing with tiredness. Had deep deep sleep then DH got up for wee and made me mug of tea ! He is in great mood at moment. After rads yesterday finall got him to Dentist, he has been grumpy for weeks due to bit of tootache. After Edi " nagging " i.e. asking him to see someone turns out he has abcess on big back tooth !!! Out it comes and nice DH appears with an apology for me as Dentist also said he should have come weeks ago. MEN !!
Second big boost Rad this morning, took ages setting up yesterday morning but no problem. Very star ship enterprise lol.
DH and I went for Lattes in the coffee shop, young lady sits down and says Hi she is the Manager of the Womens Royal Volunteer Service and I had asked to be a volunteer a while ago. When DH found out he said " No way " After she chatted and charmed him I now can do it YAY.
Will be in about a month, you can do as little or as much as you like, Edi fancies coffee shop or patient Trolly.
    Need to be useful.Smile
Got three cake orders for next month. Also two Diaper cake orders !! business booming lol

Caitlin,Hope you got that sleep after Taxol. Steroids kick in at all the wrong times I am usually buzzing in the middle of the night !
Thank you re DH shed mate, spent all day feeling sick with worry, he is sooo sweet and never complains. May pop around with DH later for hugs and let him talk.

Hi Bellies.......I have been lurking all week, but was having a major pity party (seems totally selfish and stupid with crap like Boston happening......nevertheless .....). However, the family crisis has blown over, I am tired of feeling sorry for myself, and have climbed back into the saddle.....life goes on, and I would prefer to be a part of it!

Just wanted to tell all of you how much I appreciate being able to chat with you all.....even when I am in a crummy mood! (Have enjoyed the photos and pics, and love your new avatar, Dakota!) Edi, Liefie, Traii, Websister, Caitlin, Dakota, Nihahi(who I hope is resting comfortably at home by now) and everybody else....(((Hugs)))) to you all....hopefully my dark cloud is lifting.....if not, there's always anti-depressants, right? (Don't think any of us could be blamed for thinking about them....) in any event, DD who has run me to point of exhaustion leaving Saturday for another year in Japan....more sleep might be all I need to see life in a better light! :-)

Dear Movie, so happy your pity party/crisis is over. Don't worry, we all do that from time to time. Then we shake it off, refuse to be a victim, take up our swords, and ride out to face the enemy once again. I think it's the great John Wayne who said that courage is to saddle up anyway, although you are scared to death. Time with your DD seemed to fly by - enjoy the last few days with her. When they are gone, you miss them again . . . My boys and DIL are coming to visit for the long weekend immediately before my surgery in May. Will keep me occupied, and I'm looking forward to see my children.

Websister, I hope the Herceptin will be kind to you. Little by little you are coming closer to the final one - you are so brave and courageous.

Caitlin, hope you can snatch some sleep, and that the steroid buzz is wearing off fast. Congrats to you and Traii on the new hair, whatever colour it is. Now for the chemo curl to kick in . . . lol.

Edi, thanks for the priceless pictures; the last one was particularly poignant, and brought tears to my eyes. Re DIEP, I had a single mastectomy, so will have that one done. Then a few months afterwards the PS will assess me, and decide if the healthy breast needs some lifting or tweaking to get them more similar. I really don't care much about that. I'm not 18 any more . . . just want to look good in my clothes and swimsuit. What goes on underneath the clothes is nobody else's business. Okay, maybe DH's, I guess - lol.

Volunteering sounds lovely. I'm also thinking about it, but in our town volunteering opportunities are hard to come by. First I thought of the SPCA because I love animals, but maybe I will contact the hospital, and see what they have. The Cancer Society is not very active here for some reason. So glad your DH got that abcess fixed, and that he is his old friendly self again. Big hugs to shed mate too; so, so sorry for that man.

    Lovely day to you all!
