Dear Friends

I had noticed a thickness in my areola in the left breast...it still exits even after the surgery,chemo and the radiations...I am really panicking in here...what do you think it might be....have read about Pagets disease vut have no other symptom but for the thickened areola...also the pain in the breast and arm...paranoia links it to some new cancer and not lymphedema...I am really worried sick in here...can you please advice

    Is this in your breast that had cancer or the other side? I think you need to go back to the doctor, it could be scar tissue from radiotherapy......or inflammation....

    Thanks for your response...its on the same breast that had cancer...also I am seeing that most of the patients in stage III have had a mastectomy...I had lumpectomy but with clear margins...

    There's nothing to be gained by worrying about it.  Go to the doctor and get it checked out.
