Boston....still shaking my head.  Did we get a little complacent somewhere?  I feel not, but am anxious for some answers.  It won't probably help to make sense of it, but it is hard not to know.  It takes time -- have to get it right.

Sun !!!!  Excellent 'history'.  I learned the poem and story as a very young person in school, but did not recall it well --especially since I'm an Illinoisan and it was just another part of history from elsewhere.  So glad you put that in and glad to hear firsthand of the Bosterners' spirit and drive which will live on and carry on.  Still crying a bit inside and praying for everyone involved in any way while waiting for answers.

E - waiting sucks.  Honestly, every phone call becomes a heart pounder.  I think it might be one of the worst parts of cancer, which sounds odd, but I do believe that.  I like Pip's recommendation...with Sampson.  Meditating on only good news for you.

Paula - the whole event was a defining moment in my life.  It adds layers, not so good, to my own personal experience.  Why I see a counselor about it every month.  I would have preferred to have been a BC virgin.  I hope you are feeling ok?  Are you done yet??  No bad effects from Taxol?

Pip~~Thanks for asking. I'm having a fairly easy time with Taxol. AC tried to kill me.

I get #8 of 12 weekly taxol on Friday. The SEs have stayed the same. Taste goes for about a day & 1/2, some joint pain for a day or so. My only real complaint is fatigue. I have to learn to work through it before I end up on an episode of Hoarders.

There will be lots of speculation about who did this awful thing.  It's sad that we know that there are many who are willing and capable of doing such horrible things.  Rumors and conspiracy theories are already starting.  The goal is to catch whoever did it and punish them severely.  We can all agree on that.

Kam, so sorry for the pain you and your family have endured because of this monster disease. Btw, I read The Emperor of All Maladies, and it was a difficult read. 

rr - I really needed the diversion - did you see all the ones of Koko signing for a baby - and all the little kittens she had over the years - made me cry, easy to do today, but was SO SO SO sweet to see a huge gorilla being so delicate with a little kitten.

BTW - anyone from western MA heading into Boston for hospital visits, checkups, etc.  Mass Pike exit 22 (Prudential Center) is closed.  That's the way I get to Longwood ave - just in case anyone not aware of how wide an area has been closed & needs to know.

Sunflowers, yes I saw those. So sweet, pulls at the heartstrings.

I wasn't anywhere strategic in any US/UK terrorist disaster, but they hurt so much that I can't talk about them. I never commemorate 9/11 - don't need a reminder of something never too far from the mind. It's too painful, and I was in a boring, safe place.

The terrorist attacks I have been close to --there have been plenty of them-- sadly haven't been a real surprise at all.
