E, hope you have a busy day planned .... Makes the waiting time go by faster and helps to keep your mind focused on other things, like Sampson, or wolf spiders! DH and I are going out to dinner tonight to commemorate our 40th anniversary. Celebrate would be the wrong word as we've had some pretty rough spots along the way! Tomorrow chemo and optimist that I am, O's game tomorrow night! Hoping the Benadryl has worn off and decadron kicked in! Can't stop watching the Boston news. Another sad time for our country.
-
E -- wish you didn't have to wait so long and hoping for ok news.
Boston....still shaking my head. Did we get a little complacent somewhere? I feel not, but am anxious for some answers. It won't probably help to make sense of it, but it is hard not to know. It takes time -- have to get it right.
Sun !!!! Excellent 'history'. I learned the poem and story as a very young person in school, but did not recall it well --especially since I'm an Illinoisan and it was just another part of history from elsewhere. So glad you put that in and glad to hear firsthand of the Bosterners' spirit and drive which will live on and carry on. Still crying a bit inside and praying for everyone involved in any way while waiting for answers.

E...I hate the 'hurry up and wait' game. Give Sampson a good long brushing today. Nothing can soothe the spirit like that can.
-
E - ooooooh, "extension" while painting, reaching UP, UP, UP - soooooooooo bad for backs
AS bad as lifting something very heavy without bending knees - hope it heals fast & the rest of you is B-o-o-o-ring....continuing history - the Boston Marathon has been run on 117 Patriots' Days....
prayers for all who died and those who are still suffering such terrible injuries....

Is it Obama's fault yet?
-
-
Blue~~Im one conservative that definitely doesn't blame President Obama. There's just so much evil in this world, and many people who would do something this heinous just so they can sit back and watch the carnage. Or maybe just to get their 15 minutes of fame.
Who knows? I have no answers. I wouldn't be surprised if they are homegrown like Timothy McVeigh, but who knows? I just hope they're caught and brought to justice.
Blessings

E - waiting sucks. Honestly, every phone call becomes a heart pounder. I think it might be one of the worst parts of cancer, which sounds odd, but I do believe that. I like Pip's recommendation...with Sampson. Meditating on only good news for you.
Paula - the whole event was a defining moment in my life. It adds layers, not so good, to my own personal experience. Why I see a counselor about it every month. I would have preferred to have been a BC virgin. I hope you are feeling ok? Are you done yet?? No bad effects from Taxol?
xxo to both of you!
-
My page is gone wonky. Anyone else experience the same thing?
-
Yes, mine too, and I may have unintentionally caused it.
Oops, sorry! Mods to the rescue, please! -
I think it might be ok now since we moved to a new page.
-
Pip~~Thanks for asking. I'm having a fairly easy time with Taxol. AC tried to kill me.
I get #8 of 12 weekly taxol on Friday. The SEs have stayed the same. Taste goes for about a day & 1/2, some joint pain for a day or so. My only real complaint is fatigue. I have to learn to work through it before I end up on an episode of Hoarders.
Blessings
Paula -
Haha...just watch an episode of Hoarders when you get your energy back. That will fix that problem!
-

There will be lots of speculation about who did this awful thing. It's sad that we know that there are many who are willing and capable of doing such horrible things. Rumors and conspiracy theories are already starting. The goal is to catch whoever did it and punish them severely. We can all agree on that.
Waiting with E ... they say patience is a virtue but I think needing it is just a PITA

One of my greatest regrets in life, is that I was born too early to watch Mr. Rogers. What a wonderful human being. Does everyone know the story, about the time he went to see the "talking" gorilla, Koko. Ya gotta watch if you haven't heard about this: http://www.koko.org/kidsclub/teachers/mister_rogers.html
Thank you Mr. Rogers, for showing us the world we could have. Could have.
Blue - ADORE the little fawn.
In answer to your rhetorical question, I'm sure if you watch certain web sites, threads, you'll find vicious cartoons to blame him. They definitely wouldn't watch Mr. Rogers.
-
Kam, so sorry for the pain you and your family have endured because of this monster disease. Btw, I read The Emperor of All Maladies, and it was a difficult read.
-
Sunflowers, thanks for the diversion. I went and read your link about Koko and Mr. Rogers - which led to going to youtube and searching for videos - found enough to give me a smile.
-
rr - I really needed the diversion - did you see all the ones of Koko signing for a baby - and all the little kittens she had over the years - made me cry, easy to do today, but was SO SO SO sweet to see a huge gorilla being so delicate with a little kitten.
Wonder if any news from E ????
BTW - anyone from western MA heading into Boston for hospital visits, checkups, etc. Mass Pike exit 22 (Prudential Center) is closed. That's the way I get to Longwood ave - just in case anyone not aware of how wide an area has been closed & needs to know.
-
I loved the Koko videos too. So sweet.
-
Sunflowers, yes I saw those. So sweet, pulls at the heartstrings.
-
Been away from the boards for a bit. Some business travel, along with pleasure travel.
Trying to catch up with all the posts. Want to make sure I give Pip and Enjoyful shout outs. Pip, congrats on the new home! And E, hoping and praying for benign results for you!
Like all of you, my heart aches for all the victims of the Boston bombings and for all their loved ones. So tragic and senseless. Feels like the rug was pulled out from all of us. I hope the bombers are found soon and brought to justice.
Watching the events of Boston unfold, I'm touched by the heroic acts of the police, EMTs and the "regular" people who ran toward the blasts to help. Touched by the outpouring of love and support. But so very angry that this tragedy in Boston occured. Wishing all the victims, their family and friends and all the people of that amazing city, peace and love.

I wasn't anywhere strategic in any US/UK terrorist disaster, but they hurt so much that I can't talk about them. I never commemorate 9/11 - don't need a reminder of something never too far from the mind. It's too painful, and I was in a boring, safe place.
The terrorist attacks I have been close to --there have been plenty of them-- sadly haven't been a real surprise at all.
-
...and welcome back, Belinda!

There are always some people you can count on;
Tea Party Officially Blames Obama For Boston Marathon Bombing
I just read this piece fromn Add. Info, and have come to expect this sort of drivel from them.
