Caitlin - glad to hear you are feeling better :)

Traii - love your stories - it sounds like such a wonderful time with DH and DS, glad DS only brought a little furry penguin home. Agree re: security guard - spoiling our fun like that ;).

Love that you forgot the wig, I did similar once when I was completely chemo bald. I saw our back garage light on and door open and without thinking went out back to check it out. Turns out one of my husband's friends was there and doing some work for us. That is when I realized I had nothing on my head. I came back later with my wig on and offered him some pie. He looked at me, winked and told me he kind of liked the other look better.

Edi - I remember how rads got by about this time. It seemed that I could either end through the posts on her or I could post but I had trouble doing both. Sending hugs. Rest this weekend.

Liefie - hope the sun shines a bit while you are there. I'm glad you found Antonio, sounds like he did a great job. You must be looking and feeling really good this evening. Enjoy!

Dakota - so good to hear from you, glad you like 'the girls' and that you are resting

Nihahi - sending healing thoughts and prayers

Movie - did you get the chili? I hope so, I'm not the cook that Liefie is but my chili is good and very popular at potlucks

Hope the nap did it's thing.

I just finished my treadmill, I do seem to be making some progress with speed and incline - that feels like I'm going in the right direction now.

Take care everyone, have a good weekend

Websister, the only reason you think I am a good cook, is because I'm always talking about what I'm cooking, lol, and it has everything to do with how much I love eating. Have never ever made chili, and my kids all love it. Care to share your recipe? Also liked your wig story, and impressed with the way you exercise on the treadmill despite the fact that you are still so tired sometimes. You are tough!

Weather in Vancouver tonight is really more suitable for ducks than for people. Went out for dinner, and meant to take a long walk afterwards as we always do, but it was too cold and rainy. So we came back to hotel, went to fitness centre and walked off some of the Chateaubriand that we shared - there I'm doing it again, talking about food . . . I'm a hopeless case. Hoping tomorrow will bring some sunshine, but won't get my hopes up too high.

Edi, I'm amazed at your 85-year old friend who still flies to South Africa for a visit. She is really blessed to be so strong and healthy. Glad the rads are going so well for you, and last chemo is almost here. Can you believe it's almost over? Enjoy the time with DD and GD!

Movie, I've been wanting to tell you that I hope your family crisis will be resolved soon. We all have those from time to time . . . big hugs!

Nihahi, you are hopefully sleeping, but I know they come with that Doppler to listen if there is sufficient blood supply to the new girl every half hour after a DIEP. Best wishes!

Dakota, all the best to you too!

Good night everybody. DH is asleep already - we've been up since 5 this morning. Time for some shut eye.

Hi all, just checking in to say hello. Have been reading but don't have the energy to post

much. I think our awful weather here in Toronto (snow, ice and strong winds doing a lot of damage to houses and power lines) is getting me down. So today I'm going for a hair cut and some highlights ......hope that will brighten me up..lol

    Love to all..❤

PS....did anyone read the article about alcohol and BC....They have retracted there thoughts and are now saying it is actually good for BC survivors and may even help

with less recurrences......💃🍻🍸🍹......now going to have some wine tomorrow with my niece when we go out for lunch together......perks to having BC.....lol

Dakota, can't believe you're at a baseball parade this morning with DS showing off those new girls - good for you! Don't overdo it though, and give the girlies some rest too, hey? They are still settling in.

Scottiee, thanks for the fun yesterday on the 2013 Survivors thread! It was lovely. You enjoy your day, and treat yourself. Sorry to hear about the stormy weather in Toronto. Vancouver is a little better, but still grey and cold. I think we're all so ready for summer, and some warm weather.

    `Hi gorgeous girls,
Had fab time with ED and GD. Sleepover a riot. GD started in our bed, Mummy goes up to read her two stories, DH goes up and they are BOTH fast asleep. lol. He went for a pint with shedman and I just zonked out until 11pm, ED woke same time and we proceeded to drink and gossip.
GD woke at 6.30 exactly same time as me, down we came and made two mugs of tea and then watched Disney until ED and DH got up about eight.
They are going back to MIL soon but would be quite happy if they stayed forever.
ED's remo going more smoothly now as her FIL an ex builder has been and told them in no uncertain terms what is right and what is wrong. Massive bi fold doors going in next weekend they will be the nearly the whole wall of back of house. They look out onto her 125 foot garden which will be lovely.
We are going to DIY place this avo to look at water feature, if he starts on the boring stuff I will find a spade and bury him in the gardening part.

Liefie, my 85 year old friend is actually wobbly on her legs due to arthritis but nothing stops that woman, she still runs her own counselling business and her brain is a sharp as an arrow. She has just finished writing a small book to explain to her children what happened to her in childhood. This will account for a lot of her issues  as they were growing up.
Hope you are having a good Sunday xx

Movie, hope family crisis is over and you are ok xx

Nihahi, Hope fab new girl is behaving and you are being cosseted and fussed over. Miss you xx

Dakota, Superwoman should be your name !! Take care and please don't overdo things xx

Scottie, BC and alcohol wow love you love you. I have a small scotch every evening and thought oh sod it and now may be actually improving chances.
    Take care and cheers xx

Traii, cyber baby you way too quiet, hope you are ok xx

All you glorious girls happy Sunday,  xx

Couldn't find water feature Yell DH and I both liked so he is thinking of making his own Frown Emigrating to a land far away soooo tempting.
Just about to make steak and fries, with peas tomatoes and mushrooms for dinner, not as gorgeous as Liefie's meals but better than beans on toast which he WAS going to get lol

Love those chocolate covered facepacks Edi!  Looks like the three of you had a great time together.  What does DH have in mind for the water feature - just curious?

Dakota - I agree with Edi, you are Superwoman!  Nothing can keep you down - couldn't believe you were at the baseball parade the day after surgery.  Hope you are feeling well!

Liefie, hope you had a wonderful weekend in Vancouver - such a beautiful city, even when it's raining!

Nihahi, hope you sailed through surgery with flying colors and are resting comfortably with your new girls.

My DH left to visit my MIL yesterday.  They are going to see a specialist re: her renal cell carcinoma tomorrow.  A friend stayed with me last night, and another is coming over to bring me dinner this evening.  Beautiful spring day here, so I must get outside.  Have to say I feel as well or better than I have since starting chemo today, so although Taxol was kind of nasty 3 - 5 days after treatment, the SEs don't seem to last as long, at least for me.

Hope everybody enjoys the rest of the weekend!

Edi, one day when I have grandchildren, I hope to be the kind of fun grandma that you are! That chocolate mask is such a nice bonding experience, and you have a beautiful DD and GD. So blessed! Good luck on the water feature. Your DD's house will be soooo nice when it's done with all that glass - will be so bright and light. Your friend of 85 sounds just amazing still running her own counselling business - almost unbelievable. She must be a very interesting person. That last picture is funny too - lol.

Caitlin, happy to hear you are doing so well, and don't have many SE's any more! You have such a wonderful attitude. So good of your DH to go be with his mom. It will mean the world to her.

Will post more later - DH needs the laptop - LOL!

    Hi Glorious Gals.
up and about 6.30 after nice sleep. Rads at 9am so should have the rest of day to do what I want.
DH working today, Tuesday and Wednesday yay !! chance to have a bit of fun Laughing.
Roof being made from a dormer to normal roof over next three weeks also next door having his done too. Two pleasant Liverpool lads doing the work. They have already done two houses over the road and are very efficient. At least all work outside.
Weather here improving Smile getting warmer and less wet.
Big funeral on Wednesday for Maggie Thatcher, the iron lady. Edi will be glued to TV people spotting í.e. famous people. Rumours of nasty demo's too. Feel so sorry for her family. She wasn't everyones favourite Prime Minister but she did make Women realise that we can do anything. She died in the Ritz Hotel London surrounded by flunkies and no family sooo sad.

Traii, hi chick Kiss lovely idea keepsake box, it sounds beautiful. Just finished a diaper cake for baby boy and sooo enjoy making them, but your keepsake sounds really gorgeous and lots of thought gone into it.
Gotta ask what are Pokies ?
Hope your cold improves, GD was sneezing like a goodun when she was here, she does put tissue over nose and then washes her little mitts. Hope it worked for Nana's sake.
Try those facepacks, good fun, thought of you when she is smearing my face with yummy choc.
Gold Coast for Mum and Dad sounds wonderful.
Happy housework day, then feet up. xx

Liefie, being a Grandparent is most definitely better than being a parent lol. You can give them back at end of the day Laughing.
How dare DH want the laptop !!
Mine will be going behind cushion soon as DH will be up early to spy on workmen,xx

Caitlin, lovely that you aren't suffering too many se's, I have found as getting to end of treatments they do seem to ease.
DH fancies maybe a large Urn standing on bed of pebbles where water comes out of top and runs down outside back into tank hidden underneath but heaven knows what we will end up with.
Hope you have lots of company whil DH is visitin MIL, hope she is ok.xx

Dakota, You ok after being busy at weekend ? Are you working this week, please tell me you are resting while chicks at school. xx

Bearcub big (((HUG))) how long is your hair now ? Mine seems to grow longer overnight.xx

Traii and Edi, have to laugh at you two who are so happy to be rid of your DH's when they're at work. What are you girls so happy about? Just teasing, lol. DH keeps me busy too, and I sometimes also give a sigh of relief when his car disappears down the driveway for the day especially on a Monday morning. Then I can do my own thing with nobody asking me anything, ordering me to do something, or wanting to show me one yellow flower in his greenhouse - lol. They are much like children, acquiring attention 24/7. We love them, but we need space to breathe a little sometimes. Thanks for the funny picture, Edi.

I wonder how our Nihahi is doing. She can obviously not post yet, or she would have done so already.

Went to a baby shower for a friend this afternoon whose baby was born 6 weeks early. The little one is out of the hospital where she had been for three weeks, and she is too cute, and soooo tiny! I held her, and it felt so good.

Websister, Movie, everybody else, hope your weekends were very good!

Off to bed - it's after twelve. Nighty night!

Dakota, Enjoy your day off with the kids and friends out for lunch.....you deserve it :)

Liefie, you are so right! We love our DH's so much that it's nice for them to go to work so we get our time...(well I have DS to handle, but he is much 'nicer' when daddy is at work)! lol DS and I can get back into routine...clean, shop, cook, play ... shop, shop play....! DH's do need 24/7 attention, sometimes i think whos worse...DH or DS! lol. Your DH sounds like my dad...he gets excited about a tomato that pops up that he calls out to my mum to go and have a look....then she says, oh thats nice...!!! lol

Sounds like you had a nice time at the Baby shower....aren't babies a delight to hold....when i was holding my cousins baby, I went to change her diaper ( nappy we call it) and there was blood in it....well found out she had her first 'period' I'd never heard of that but apparently very common.....both her mummy and I s&*^ ourselves seeing a little blood coming from a little diaper.....who would have thought!!!

I am hoping that Nihahi is recovering well from surgery and that she pops in soon even to say all is good. We miss you Nihahi xx

Hope everyone is doing well.. Caitlin, enjoy your dinner by your darling friend bringing it to you. Its times like these that we really know whom mean so much. Hope your DH got to his mum safely.

Take care all....watching Greys Anatomy (Season return) !

Traii, you asked me on Friday if I've had a haircut yet. My first one was in the beginning of Dec. last year, 7 months PFC, but that was mostly just a trim around the edges to tidy it up. End of January I had my first proper haircut, and on Friday I had the second haircut. It grows as fast again as before. Still thick too as before, but defnitely thinner on top. Just love the pixie style. It practically maintains itself, and dries in no time after a shower. Probably never would have worn it this short had I not been forced. Was a bob girl before, but hey, I'm alive, and I have hair. That's enough to be grateful for!

Liefie..I'm loving the pixie too...jump out of the shower & towel dry hair...especially after always blow drying and straightening it....though I need color..as I've mentioned here before, my hairs grown back dark brown (i forgot my real hair colour..lol). I need highlights!!!

I'm happy with a bob...always had mine passed shoulders...shortest I went was the concave look short back long sides ...now I can't wait to be adventurous with short hair for a bit until it grows back to my desired length!!

Thats pretty good cutting it twice....my hairs growing pretty quick. Started growing few weeks before treatment ended so around feb and i already have a full head of hair thats already growing over my ears :) (oh the smallest things cause such joys!!)

Agree with you...I'm happy to be alive, long hair, short hair, dark or light, so long as there's hair I'm happy :)

Well I should sleep soon...1:30am here...DS will be up before I know it!

Nihahi - thinking of you and hoping that you are improving every day

Traii - sorry to hear about your cold, I hope that you also are soon feeling better and that you were able to get some sleep in there before DS woke up

Liefie - your hair sounds great, glad you had a good weekend away.

Edi - love the picture of you with your GD and ED and the second picture is the story of my life ;). You are looking good, have you stopped wearing the wig? You could!

Caitlin - have you heard how MIL's appt went yet? Glad DH could be there with her.

Bearcub - I had my MO visit today. My LVEF was 66 last time and is 64 this time. One thing that I have done since starting Herceptin with my MO's blessing is take CoQ10 twice daily. It is supposed to help with heart function, I can't guarantee that is the reason mine seems to be doing OK but it isn't hurting it. You could ask your MO if they would be willing for you to try it

My bloodwork was also all OK so I am booked for the next 4 Herceptins, we do MUGA, bloodwork and appt again and if OK then I will be on the 3 month home stretch of the Herceptin.

I was sorry to hear of the bombings in Boston today when I got home - so sad

    Take care everyone

Hi fellow warriors, I start this with deep deep sadness. just put on sky news Boston bombings !! How can a day of fun and joy be turned into a slice of Hell ?
Here we have London Marathon on Sunday panic stations now ensuing, also Mrs Thatchers massive funeral tomorrow.
We are all going to hell in a handcart as my Dear Mom used to say.
Prayers going out for all involved and the people of this beautiful city.

All same old same old with Edi, good sleep and no naps during day yesterday. As footloose and fancy free whizzed off to shops again for a good mooch.
Bought lots of solar bits for my back garden/yard. Fell asleep after dinner and forgot to look and see if they had come on lol.
Early rads today and then every day until the end, now then DH working again so fun fun fun day planned.
Visited an old friend/neighbour   yesterday too, she is almost 20 years out from lung cancer. She was being treated for asthma for 12 months until her DH queried tests her GP sent her for further tests and it was so advanced it was too near vital organs to operate. They battered her with chemo for 12 months and she is fit as a fiddle.Smile
Felt really "normal " yesterday too, made liver and bacon in onion gravy with mash and savoury cabbage for dinner. I cleared my plate and enjoyed every mouthful, that too is a first.

Liefie, DH's and joy when they go to work, you did answer your own question Laughing always said I have four kids and know which one is the hardest work. Yours and the "come and see flower made me smile." Mine does the littlest task and it is "I have brushed the deck come and see" Frown Think next time I clean the loo will drag him in for a view lol.
Tiny babies and cuddles what joy, glad tiny one home.
You really suit your hairstyle and me being a lazy lady always had mine short and spikey like an ancient hedgehog. Hoping for maybe some curls which my many friends who have had chemo seem to aquire.xx

Dakota, how lovely that you had a day off, hope it was good. Keep well xx

Traii, Thanks for heads up on Pokies, would never have guessed that one Laughing did you win ?
Baby and first period is sooo scarey it happened with my ED and I was convinced she was dying, thank goodness someone explained.
I am dying this snow white/charcoal mix head asap. Seems we can't use chemical dye for 6 months as reacts with chemicals still in hair.Friend did it and went the colour of an orange !!
Our health store does a vegetable based dye which is supposed to be ok.xx

Nihahi, cuddles and big hugs flying to you xx

Websister, lovely that you are galloping to the finish line. great news on levels.Don't think it will be long before I head out with no wigs or hats temperatures rising here so hoping it continues.
    Take care xx

Caitlin, hope DH had a good visit with MIL and some hopeful news. Keep well xx

DH had the nerve to get up same time as me !! getting daggers from him  so will log off for now, he has toothache and seems he has had it for two weeks, accounts for nasty temper. He is going to dentist this week if I have to drag him there.

    Love to ALL xx

    Good morning everybody,

Someone suggested on another thread that if they catch the people responsible for this carnage in Boston, they should punish them by giving them chemotherapy every day for life. Sounds good to me. It is so senseless; innocent children and people's lives wrecked by these random acts of violence all in the name of religion, if it is indeed done by Al Queda terrorists.

On another note, it is a glorious, beautiful, sunny spring day here with blue skies and the snow-capped mountains mirrored in the lake. Can't stay inside. Was going to take the dog for a long walk, but he limps, and has a sore foot all of a sudden. Can't feel anything though, and will see vet it if doesn't get better. He is a Golden Retriever, eleven years old already, so we expect that his health will begin to fail. Sad that they only live about 12 - 14 years. We've had him since he was 6 weeks old. He is so adorable and gentle, no aggression whatsoever, loves the cat, and only wants attention. He is a wonderful companion, and we all love him so much. There will be many tears when he goes eventually.

Still battling tax papers - ughhh!!! DH points out to me every day that I have to finish it, as if I don't know that myself. Also in the throes of helping kids to apply for new passports, as theirs expire, and they have to travel to S.A. in Nov. They want certified copies of everything from when they were born up till now. Buried in papers here. I just detest admin work - wouldn't be a good office worker at all, and will be fired in a week for bad attitude. When we moved to Canada, I had to fill in all those forms for five people, in threefold. Then had to do the same when we applied for permanent residence, and had to do it again when we applied for Canadian citizenship. No wonder I'm so paper shy!

DD phone early this morning. Always so good to talk to her, because she's an old soul with much more dignity and wisdom than her mom. She will be coming to visit and help after my DIEP surgery in May. The two of us had a good chuckle over the fact that she is looking forward to get away from her DH for a week, and recharge her batteries. He is an intense, high-energy individual who dreams up a new scheme every morning before breakfast, much like her dad - LOL.

Edi, it's always good to hear about somebody who had ca 20 years ago, and is doing well. Glad you sound so chipper, and are shopping, visiting, and enjoying your food - you have that end goal in sight now, and nothing is stopping you. YAYY!! Cancer be gone! LOL about you dragging DH to view the clean loo . . . it is as if they constantly need a cheering squad, so funny.

Dakota, there's no stopping you, is there? So happy for you that everything is going well!

I sent Nihahi a pm, but she is obviously not in a position to respond. Really wondering how she's doing, because I'm having the exact same thing done in May.

    Have a good day, ladies!

    Hi Liefie xx
Think everyone must be hopefully out and a bout and having fun.
Been awake since 2am Frown  watched TV then had two more hours sleep on sofa.
Stressed to bits as we are now having new roof !! Thought it would be no bother as all outside and lovely lads from Liverpool doing it.
They wave me off to rads every morning and ask how I am when I come back Smile DH is yet again interfering fit to bust, said he wouldn't but knew it wouldnt last. I then get the flack and fall out.
He came with me to Rads yesterday despite my protests, I wanted hand massage and blow me down they did his hands too. Lovely ladies and kept him quiet lol
Iron lady's funeral today, watching on tv, hope no problems i.e. terrorists. Thousands lining streets in London.
Can hear DH, HELP laters xx
