jmar19, breast cancer is a crime but being diagnosed at your age is a crime of the century. I wish you soonest treatment, recovery, and may the best be yet to come with a new normal.

I was 40, Stage II, and told it had been growing for several years -- the stinker. We found each other. An intermittent throb (kind of like a quiet telephone ring) on my left breast that presented itself first through my dreams, and then my hand checked it out when I was awake. Then came the visit to the doctor's office where "it was probably nothing". Boy did they have the wrong telephone number!

Going to have Chemo 4 treatments and radiation therapy (2 weeks 5 days on 2 days off) then tamoxifen. I feel sad to know we are all in the company but happy to see all the strong wonderful people that have applied. I'm encouraged.. -
Originally dx July 2003, I'm now 36.

I was diagnosed March 24th, 2006 at the age of 46. Felt a strange little lump one day, up high, above my breast. Turned out to be cancer. Had a lumpectomy, and sentinel node biopsy (clear), and was planning to start radiation. Heard about breast MRI's, and some nagging little thought kept coming back, again and again, telling me I should have one. Well, low and behold, there was another lump, hiding in the same breast. So now, 3 1/2 months later, I've had a bilateral mastectomy, am going through reconstruction (just had my last fill!), and will soon be having my ovaries removed. What a spring/summer it's been. Definitely unexpected and scary.
I'm so saddened by all the young women here! It makes me scared for my daughter. I want all of you to know that my heart goes out to you, and I'll be thinking about you and wishing you well.
