At 64 and I had mammograms every year since age 50. Showed up as microcalcifications and very fast growing. I am also surprised at the young ages. I read somewhere that the average age for detection is 64 but I wonder now if that is still the case or if what I read was accurate.

I was (and still am) 61 -- about the same age that my mother was at her first diagnosis. Like bluemerle, I had been having annual mammograms from the first time my insurer would cover them (35). My younger sister was diagnosed at around 55, had mastectomy and is doing fine 5 years later.

35, and 28 weeks pregnant. First sign was bleeding from the nipple but no one was concerned due to the pregnancy. When a lump formed a few weeks later, doctors were still unconcerned, but biopsy revealed DCIS (which later turned out to be invasive...)
