Kathy, congratulations!! As you say, it is all about making changes to habit and lifestyle forever and feeling great about it.
CookieMonster, if you keep coming to this discussion board you will get your focus back. My friend joined WW about 6 months ago and it has been a hard road for her - a loss one week, a gain the next.... BUT she still has an overall loss and she is feeling good.... Somethings just take time....
My next weigh in is on Monday.... I've settled down this week post Easter so I hope I've stabilised now!
Thinking of you all! -
Hi, Tenaj, my meals are basically high protein, low carb, lots of fruits and vegetables, and smaller portions on yummier foods. And I exercise alot now!!! No pop, only water and green tea, no sweets, except weight Watcher treats that are low in points. I do have a day where I splurge a little, but then I go down to the gym again and exercise. I know, it sounds like I am a little obsessed with exercise, he,he,he!!! The exercise also helps my mood swings. The only breads I eat now are whole gluten-free!! I won't eat potatoes and bread at the same meal, one or the other, and I won't have bread after 2:00! Weight Watchers is basically this: Smaller portions, Good carbs, lean protein, and lots of fruits and vegetables. But it does allow to splurge now and then. I hope that helps!!! Tonight for dinner, I am having a salad with a scoop of tuna, 1/2 cup of yogourt, and my WW sweet treat. I also try to eat heavier during the day, and lighter at night. Hubby has been so accomadating on the meals I fix.
Tammy, you will do great on Weigh In on Monday. Hugs to you all!!!!
-
Kathy, it helps so much to have support like you're getting from hubby
-
Hi, Tammy, my goal is to weigh less than my hubby, he,he,he!!!!! He eats the ice cream at night if he is still hungry!
-
Congrats on the weight loss Kathy! I too follow a similar diet. I eat a single serving of oatmeal for breakfast, usually with raisins or a half cup of Chobani grek yogurt. Then I have an apple or four prunes for a mid-morning snack. Lunch usually consists of a clear broth soup such a vegetable beef or chicken noodle or half of a high fiber pita pocket with tuna or a meal with beans and Quinoa, and mid-afternoon I eat one or two Dove dark chocolates and another piece of fruit or a serving of melon. Dinner is usually a leafy green salad with fruit or veggies. Sometimes for dinner I'll have steamed vegetables with a little bit of freshly grated Parmesan. Before 7pm, I usually have a snack like air popped popcorn (no butter) or more fresh fruit. I also like frozen fruit pops, frozen grapes or berries without sugar. If I follow this plan and exercise at least 30 mins a day, I can lose weight. It's not always easy though. I don't keep cookies around or tempting sweets except for the chocolate. My absolute weakness is jelly beans (black ones). I don't buy them because if I do, I will binge and eat every last one of them.
Weight Watchers really works because it teaches you how to eat correct portion sizes. Before I went to WW, I was eating three portions thinking it was one. Drinking a lot of water or clear, unsweetened liquids is also very important.
If I mess up a day and eat more than I should, I forgive myself and get right back on the horse. Each day is a new beginning and we can start fresh. Hang in there ladies. You are truly an encouragement to me! -
Wow, Rocket, I love your routine!! I will definitely incorporate your foods into my diet!! I also have to exercise daily for at least 30 minutes!! I think I have been overdoing the exercise a tad! I just came back from the doctor, I pulled a muscle in my back, so I have to be careful for a few days!! So, be careful Ladies!!! I never realized how painful a pulled muscle is, but I am feeling so much better now, the doc gave me prescription naproxen to take, and I feel so much better already!!! Hugs to you all, Kathy
-
Kathy, bad news! Hope it heals fast.....
Rocket, that sounds really healthy...and yummy....
I put on 1.3lbsthis weigh-in but considering the great time I had over Easter I'm not surprised....back to lots of fruit and veg.....
-
Thank you, Tammy!! Only 1.3lb, that is great and a minimal gain!! Yes, me too, fruits and veggies!!!
-
How is your back Kathy? Feeling better I hope. Naproxen works very well on me. I never let my prescription run out. Lol.... Your food choices are excellent, it's no wonder your doing so well. I've been doing better the past 2 days, (cause I had to!!! ) I had a fun weekend :-) We got invited to an acquaintance house to play Mexican train. I never played before. It was a lot of fun & she kept bringing food out. Good food too! Crab dip, cheese & crackers, homemade zucchini bread ...then dessert!! OMG too much...anyway as you can guess, I was up like 4 lbs Sunday morning. The good news I'm down 2 this morning. I just hate gaining & loosing the same pounds....
Tammy, Easter is tough for me too! The candy is hard to resist. I love peeps!
Rocket, how is your foot? Hope your mom is doing well.
Hi Jaytee, hope your sleeping better :-) I looked to see if you were playing when I was up in the middle of the night again! Lol... The weather was over 70 degrees today, I had a winter coat on Sunday!! Are you having the same strange weather?
Hi CookieMonster & ATeamNana ...... -
I tracked yesterday and today on WW online. So far so good. I'll keep at it and hope to see some good results on Thursday morning when I weight.
Congrats to all of you who are losing, I hope to join you this week. And for those struggling, I am too, hang in there, refocus, forgive yourself your slip ups and keep at it.
-
Tenaj, when I read your comment about "gaining and losing the same pounds" I had to laugh....how true and how disappointing it can be.....
CookieMonster, tracking is good...you go girl.... -
Hi, Tenaj, I am feeling so much better!!! Thank you!!! Back to exercising, but not as intense!! Hugs to all of you, here!!!!
-
Tenaj, down 2lbs, awesome!! CookieMonster, You will do great at weigh in!!!!
-
I am so pleased. I went to therapy this morning which was fine, and then hit the gym and rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes at a decent intensity. Then I walked the track and did leg exercises for another 15 minutes. Yay!
-
Rocket, I am doing the happy dance for you!!! Great Job!!!!!
-
Wow Rocket that's GREAT! Just be careful to not over do or you will have to take a break to heal again. I've done that more times than I would like to admit. Feel good doing exercise than over do it & then I have to take a break. I'm learning how to pace myself with exercise.....always learning :-)
-
So true Tenaj! I was justo happy to do something that is considered cardiovascular as I had been laid up so long. It felt wonderful to push myself. I'll try to listen to reason and go a little easier. Thanks for your wisdom!
-
Kathy and Rocket, good to hear you're back exercising......
I've got a sore left hip at the moment (due to running)....I hope it settles down soon.... -
Feel better Tammy! I got left hip pain from over doing on the treadmill & had to stop for several weeks. It's finally feeling better now. Take good care of yourself.
-
Hi everyone.....work has gotten busy and I haven't been able to spend too much time online right now....not even late at night, tenaj..
I will sit down in the evening and start nodding off. Did get a little yard work done the other night after dinner....I am counting that as exercise. Wish I could have gotten some of that done in March, but it was just too cold. So many things going on all at once......Dad is still not up here as yet....he has to have a Dr appt at his current facility to get released from there and the Dr was out of town last week. One of my sisters may be able to come up and help me start moving some of his things to his new room this weekend but I still have to work some both days. My head is spinning.
So happy to hear that you are continuing to lose weight kindergarten....keep up the good work and you too tenaj! Cookie...hope you have a good weigh in and Tammy, I think I enjoyed Easter a little bit too much too!! I hope your hip will feel better soon...my daughter is a runner and she will experience that too sometimes....the hardest part is having to stop running for awhile. Rocket.....So happy to hear that you were able to exercise!
Got to head over to work.....hoping you all have a wonderful day...keep up the good work!
-
Hi, Jaytee!!! So good to see you!! I sure hope everything goes smoothly with your Dear Dad's move!! Make sure you take of yourself!!! You are getting alot of exercise with working and yard work!!!!
I found out that my back pain was not just a pulled muscle, but caused by a kidney infection! I spiked a fever, so my doctor ordered a cat scan to rule out other stuff, and my right kidney was inflamed!! I am feeling great now, but I have been a little bad with eating, craving comfort foods!! Oh, well we will see what happens at weigh in tomorrow!! If I gain, I will shake the dust off my feet and start again!! You guys make me never want to give up!!!! Tenaj, hope your hip pain is better!! Love all you Ladies!!!! Kathy -
Hi ladies.. Kathy hope you are feeling better...
Sounds like your have all been doing well with the weight loss..I'm at a stand still right now..not gaining not losing...
I have been running back and forth between soccer fields..4 grandsons and two different locations, sometimes 2 games on the same night...they play monday thru thursdayl so we try to catch as many as possible.
The twins are 3 and their games are a riot:)
Keep up the good work everyone.
Marsha
-
H, Marsha!! So good to see you post. Hey, that is great that you are maintaining. I bet you are enjoying your grandson's games. How fun!! Running back forth to different soccer fields is quite a workout. Keep up the good work. I know Lily gives me a workout just keeping up with her. She is a mover and a groover. He,he,he!!! Have a great weekend. Kathy
-
Kathy, sorry to read about your inflamed kidney...makes me feel less sorry for myself about my hip...I know ALL about comfort food unfortunately.....
Jaytee, you've got a lot going on...remember to look after yourself...
Tenaj, were you able to get back to the treadmill? I went to the physio today and when I came out I could hardly walk...this may be a long road back...
Marsha, all that running around has to be good for your fitness -
Morning! kindergarten....hope you feel better real soon! What do they treat a kidney infection with? Hope it takes care of it quickly for you. Tammy...sounds like you are really hurting too....will keep both of you in my prayers!
Marsha, you are so right about it being fun to see little ones in sports. Half of them are looking at the sky or a bug or standing there and waving at moms, dads and grandparents! Smiling just thinking of it.
Got to enjoy those days of running to sports events!
tenaj, Rocket, Cookie..thinking of you today too!
Its been raining here for a couple of days, but I think I might be able to get a walk in this morning...dont have to go into work until a little later today. We had had such a nice warm few days and I wasn't able to get out there and walk in the sunshine. I really do need to make that time to walk even if I have to get out there at 7 in the morning!
Have a good Friday everyone!
-
Tammy, hope your hip feels better soon!!! Hi, Jaytee, thank you for your well wishes! I am taking Cipro for 10 days!!! I feel great now!! Running around today and hopefully get a walk in too!! Hugs to you all, Rocket, Tenaj, CookieMonster, and Marsha!!!!
-
So glad you are better Kathy! Tammy, I sure hope you start feeling better. I will be praying for you.
I got more therapy today for my foot, and then I rode the exercise bike and walked the track. I also used a few machines approved by my PT for my legs to help my knees. I'm tired now, but determined to keep exercising and eating carefully.
Hang in there you lovely ladies! -
Hi, Rocket!!! So good to see you!! Wow, you are doing great!! You go, girl!!!!!
-
Happy Weekend, Ladies!! I did not get to WW this week, but according to my scale I am down at least a pound!! I have become dependent on the Weight Watcher scale!! I will weigh in next Friday and see!! My back still hurts a l title, but did do the elyptical and treadmill!!
-
Kathy, glad your feeling better & continue to be successful! Encouraging to all of us :-)
I am in Philly visiting my son & future D-I-L.....resting right now before we go out to dinner & meet her father for the first time. We walked over 6 miles today & there will be more tonight. Hopefully all this walking will help burn some of the calories that I'm eating. I've been good so far.....
Jaytee, glad to hear your sleeping better, it helps when your so busy. Hope all goes smooth with your dad. Enjoy the warmer weather & your healthy walks :-)
Rocket keep up the good work....glad to hear your feeling better.
Enjoy the weekend ladies! Hi Tammy, CookieMonster & ATeamnana!!!
