LOVE the owl with her chicks - "My eggs exploded!"
RE: Reagan - Now see, that was fine because it was during the Reign of Reagan, a good, God-fearin' Republican. Now that we have a librul soshalist president who's wiping the floor with our constitooshun, that quote no longer applies. We need AK-47s and high-powered guns with high-capacity magazines for when Obama comes knockin'.
*eye roll*

How easy they forget. I bet if Reagan was in charge right now, they would call him a "Rino". And I will say it again, I liked the MAN!

Nighty night....back is troubling me.

I find the use of the word "entitlement" in the US quite interesting. In most other places it is simply benefits into which people have paid, or part of a social network that keeps all of us healthier.
"Entitlement" has such negative connotations. But I guess that's the point. -

This is making a lovely morning for me. Doesn't hurt that the sun is outside bright as can be and will be near 80 today. Hello Spring.....even if it may be a little transitory just yet.

Blue....all the pics are great, but oh that kitty. I think my animal affinity level just never changes one bit. I'm sure because they are WHO they are and I can count on it always. Also, they never try to take away my rights, or make me wrong for wanting to help others just like them.
Lassie - you make a good point. Entitlements make it sound like a gift --- added to the fact that in some circles, looked at that way, its easier to say this needs to removed or done very differently or whatever excuse is used. There isn't any gift to it, but why let the little details bog you down. Sigh !!!

But don't you damn tree hugging liberals even THINK about interfering with our 2nd Amendment right to kill ourselves!

good morning - I'm with jackie - smiling at the sunshine AND almost 70 we're supposed to have today. What a difference the weather can make.
Alexandria - hope there's more sunshine in DD's life today too..
Blue - ooooohhhhh, back pain - I can empathsize, not for the PD part, but the pain part. Hope you find something which gives you relief. Expect you've met with acupuncturist about this? I'm a great fan of arnica gel, or ben gay - and a warm heating pad - with a pillow under my knees, if you can be on your back, or curled up on my side, with heating pad, then a pillow - held in place behind you.
3 cheers for Sambocol. I'd forgotten about it - now it's in my "arsenal" and less coughing. Everyone I speak to ( rasp at) had said the lingering cough seems to go with this year's flu. Bleah. Or, as Pooh would say, "OH, BOTHER!!" many oh bothers...
GG - thinking of you today - hope all goes well....no sense saying relax, that comes after boring...I've had so many little bits, moles ( what I call my chocolate chips) cut off, varying degrees of badness, but it all seems to be OKAY once done. Seriously - this was told to me by a very good doc, red wine helps "deaden" the nerve endings near the skin - so have a glass of wine, we'll all be drinking with you. I actually think the "cut" is less painful than that "burning off by freezing" thing dermatologists do to get rid of those "barnacles" ( can't remember what they're supposed to be called) on my back.

Pip -- Did you find any houses to your liking?
-
We found a beautiful bungalow in a waterfront community. You can see the lake from the living room. We put an offer in yesterday and should here tonight. We did lowball, but even if we have to pay full asking price it is still a good deal.
The funny thing is, it is one of the 8 houses we looked at the I thought would not even make the short list. And, I didn't want to do any renovations, but we would completely redo this kitchen and take out 2 walls!

fingers crossed for pip

Fingers crossed for you, Pip! Is it in the Kawarthas?
-
Exciting Pip. When do you have to move out.
Sunny, my back gets sore when I'm tired. I also get the dystonia part of PD which doesn't help. I just go up to my hard mattress and watch my new TV (Ray got that for me) and try to relax. It does go away. My acupuncturist has saved my life.
-
pip ... good luck on the house offer! Sounds wonderful.
Both of those shooting cases should result in criminal charges for the gun owners and/or parents IMO. It does not take a genius level IQ to know that 4 year olds have to be kept away from loaded guns. It's neglect at a minimum and involuntary manslaughter or reckless homicide in the cases pip posted. With rights come responsibilities and consequences.
Fillibusters have become little more than a tool to save them from having a vote on a issue on the record. McConnell hardly ever does more than poke his turtle head out to say NO to whatever.
This kitty definitely has an opinion about a bath ... LOL.
My cat is due for another bath soon. Luckily she likes water and really doesn't mind.
-
Yes, the house is in the Kawarthas. Beautiful area. My dh family all live in the area and are excited for us to come up there. Thanks for all the crossed fingers. Our house closes early July and we hope to secure the new place in early June. That will give us time to do the renos before moving in.
On the cat bathing...my cats would NEVER speak to me if I ever tried that. I have to chase them down for a brusing! If I ever get another kitten, I will start bathing it early on so it gets used to it.
