{{{{Alexandria}}}} - what Athena said about therapy, and not having just "one" type in mind - it can be a long process. CBT is often a place to start, in crisis, to stabilize, but certainly not the only way.  SO IMPORTANT that you DD does speak to someone, to help her put all the issues in perspective.  Really, really hope you will also talk with someone to get the support YOU need to help your DD through this time...

Has she seen an audiologist about hearing issues.  Also a SE of some combinations of medication.  Somuch for a DD under stress to deal with - and so far way.  Thinking of you...

As you have no doubt heard, former British PM Margaret Thatcher has died of a stroke at the age of 87.  She suffered dementia for many years.
In keeping with her conservative beliefs, an e-petition to Her Majesty's government has been circulating:

Thatcher state funeral to be privatised

    Responsible department: Cabinet Office

In keeping with the great lady's legacy, Margaret Thatcher's state funeral should be funded and managed by the private sector to offer the best value and choice for end users and other stakeholders.

The undersigned believe that the legacy of the former PM deserves nothing less and that offering this unique opportunity is an ideal way to cut government expense and further prove the merits of liberalised economics Baroness Thatcher spearheaded.

Blue as always...great, great pictures.  Also Suzie....what a handsome little guy.  Hoping all goes well and glad some strong parameters are set.

Hope everyone with any mental issues can get through the maize successfully and as much as anyone can.

Add. Info says Florida GOP hasn't anything going on so they are stalking Beyonce' for the moment.  There are far too many who do not have anything going on so "fix" an agenda.  Oh to just be bored once in awhile...right Faux.  Just bored silly.

Springtime here.  All the ravine bushes are popping out all over and the forsythia is eye-popping.  Staying around the 70's mark so we will pop out all over and get leafed up for that wonderful, beautiful Spring.  I hope we have a good taste of what spring and summer really normally are around here, especially since this will be my daughter's FIRST real Spring.  She became a Californian at 3 months of age so everything that comes in a highly seasonal area is all new to her.  We are both frothing almost in anticipation.

Hoping you all have a good day.

    Jackie

That story about the two celebrities who went to Cuba is interesting. Only in the US could this happen!  There was absolutely no press and zero outrage when I went to Cuba for a week in February.   And I did hear southern US accents while visiting one town there.

I thought the U.S. was going to be lifting the ban on U.S. citizens going to Cuba.  I'm sure it's just the rightwing trying gin up another big "conspiracy"Frown.  I haven't been to Cuba for several years, but for sure there were some southern U.S. accents then too.  Imagine that!

From AddInfo (I guess this pretty well sums it up):

According to U.S. law, in order or Americans to visit Cuba, they must obtain a specific license. Citizens are not allowed to visit the country solely as tourists, but can go for academic, religious or journalistic reasons. Jay Z and Beyonce’ could be visiting for any of the permitted reasons, as well as celebrating their five-year wedding anniversary.

For some reason, this year Republican have expressed many ‘concerns’ about the mega-talented powerhouse couple. And Beyoncé seems to be the primary target. Could it be because she is a favorite of the Obamas?

First, the Conservatives went after her for lip-synching the national anthem during the presidential inauguration (like many Republicans even bothered to watch the ceremony. I remember I couldn’t stomach the thought of watching W’s inaugurations) To silence the lions, Beyoncé  more than proved  her vocal abilities at the Super Bowl press conference and halftime performance, also highly criticized by  Conservatives.

Hi ladies - different subject - I am getting my chest cut on this afternoon to remove the basal skin cancer they found at my last dermatologist visit (plus in a couple weeks I'll have a pre-cancerous spot burned off).  So think good thoughts for me.  I'm not really nervous, as it's small, but I've gotten a little gun shy (or I guess it's knife and needle shy) over the last couple years.....

Maybe afterwards I could schedule a trip to Cuba....  Sealed

Slept poorly - sicker than yesterday, so I'm not going to work. I'll dose myself up with cold and flu tabs and try and get more sleep.

Poppy survived the week without me. Steve did keep her in at night, so that's something. She seems to have forgiven me and I got a couple of cuddles.

Went through old photo album of DD and wow, Nick does look like her. I'm going to scan a few and send them to her.
