Glad you are feeling good, Sandy. I know how work can make you feel good, too.
I went to work yesterday expecting to be trained in aqttendance and the switchboard. The office manager said she had heard great things about me from both of the women I had been training with and that she is sure neither of those areas would be an issue for me to pick up on, so they put me back in the finance office for the day. The trainer was telling everyone who came in how much I had been helping her get things caught up. Around 3 pm I got a call from the districyt office offering me a long term sub position at the school my middle son graduated from. I told her about being gone next week and she said she'd check and see if they can deal with it. I doubt they can, it's seven work days off, but I am excited at the prospect. I do go to that job for three days next week.
It felt wonderful to get to work every day this week.
Hope you all are having a great weekend.
-
Meece...so happy for you and it is no nice at our age to feel wanted no matter what it is.....excited for you...have fun next week, what is going on with the baby?

Great news Meece. Enjoy your time off.

Happy Saturday all!

Happy weekend to you! I thought this was when you and Kurt were taking off for a few days of romance

DIL says she is staying calm and quiet this weekend because she doesn't want to have the baby over the weekend. Her doctor is not on call and she only wants him. The baby's actual due date is April 16th, but they will deliver on the 12th unless she goes into labor early. She texted me yesterdayasking how I made it through the 4+ weeks of contractions I had with DS3. Every day I would have four or more hours of contractions that would make me think "this was it".
I gave her a pep talk and I think she feels a bit better now.
-
I wish Diane, DH's Aunt passed away and we are heading to a funeral about 2 hours away tomorrow. That's the only trip Im taking. Hope all is well with you. Have I told you how awesome you are??
Hope she makes it til Monday Meece!
-
Meece....i'm glad pep talk helped. I never expeienced contractions....must be scary.....
Linda...Sorry about your loss.....Are you coming back tomorrow night?

Yes, will be back tomorrow night. Jewish funeral, but I will not be attending the week of shiva. You rock too Sheila!
You all rock!

We all rock
We are survivors.
For several months now, I have had nonstop sore throat, loss of voice, sinus pain, extreme fatigue, and reflux. I have had scans, xrays, testing for thyroid cancer, autoimmune diseases and allergy issues. Thursday was day 3 after finishing antibiotics and I started feeling sick again. Thursday afternoon, my bite felt off - like a tooth had repositioned. I looked in the mirror and noticed that the one tooth that is a dental implant had black tissue around it. Friday morning I called to get it checked because there's nothing I'd rather do than go to the doctor again. Spent Friday afternoon in surgery getting the $4800 implant removed. There was an infection that had gone to my jawbone - a piece of tissue had been left between the bone and the implant. The sound of having your jawbone scraped is horrible. Didn't feel like a toothache because there is no nerve, no local swelling. Surgeon explained that he believes all of my symptoms will now disappear - when you have a "silent" infection and are swallowing bacteria constantly, all of those symptoms happen. Despite the surgery and the big hole in my mouth, I feel much better today than I have in weeks. Get the poison out of the body and then the antibiotic can work. So the lesson is, if you have something unexplained going on, it's not always breast cancer or that breast cancer spread - it could be your damn tooth. I really do feel better.
Monday morning, I go to see Shelby - I get teary just looking forward to it. We skyped with her last night - she kept asking for Papa (DH), Cooper (our dog), and a cat (unknown). She only has eyes for Papa right now but I will change that when I arrive with her new kitty stuffed animal.
Linda - sorry for your loss.
-
So sorry, DIane. I can only imagine how yucky you feel. I have been fighting with my dentist for 15 months now. His Bookkeeper screwed up my billing and didn't bill my insurance until Feburary of this year. Now they are trying to bill my $270+ in finance charges. I can't get dental work done until the balance is paid and I WON'T pay finance charges for something that isn't my fault!
A local dentist is about to lose his license due to massive amounts of patients with infections. DH's carpool friend's daughter had an implant and has been sick for months. She is down to about 80 lbs because she can't eat. And right now she is in the hospital in isolation to protect her from further infection.

I don't remember if I posted here that at my last 6-mo Onc. check-up, my TM's had gone up some. It's been a hellish six months, trying not to think about it, wondering what it would be at my next appt. Well, had said appt last Friday & they have come down to almost my usual normal again. (Normal: <12 ~~ Last 6-mo ck: 23.7 ~~ Fri: 14.2) This is the dreaded CA27.29 TM test. Yay! Don't know what the cause was for the rise, but praying it doesn't happen again. Way. Too. Stressful.
Meecie ~ Like I am sure I have said before, you are the Energizer Bunny!! I so agree with learning as many aspects of your job as possible. Make yourself wanted. Let you be the one they think of first for subbing.
Well, Diane, for crying out loud! Who'da thunk it!?! So glad you are observant, & that you found out the root
cause of your continuing sore throat, etc. Hallelujah!! They should pay you for solving this puzzle!
My best to everyone!

(Sheila ~ I'll try to call you this week. Hey, now, if you think your gonna have another day of 36 phone calls, received & sent, let me know...I'll postpone!!!! We can't have your ear falling off!)

Sandy - I feel terrible whining when you are in the midst of chemo. Thank you for asking - I feel so much better than I have in months!
Linda - hope the funeral wasn't too hard and that you all got home safely.
Sheila - I can't believe I will see her tomorrow. I need her in my arms.
Meece - so glad mine didn't go that far! Good luck this week. I am guessing the baby is still "in"?
I bet Ducky had a heck of a good time and we are in for some stories.
Where are Chris and Deb and Joan and Val?
Nice to see you again pt dreamers - wet enough for you? Now where is chabba?
-
Diane...probably i asked this many times...but are you flying?
YES...Cutie Pie will be in your arms..♥
-
Yes, I am flying - it is just about 2 hours, driving is 12/13 hours....

Here I am rain. Have a good trip. I know you will enjoy your visit.
Been reading here every day but not posting much. I've been very tired and not feeling well at all. Also still dealing with loss of my brother on Aug 30. Had a routine appt. with my PCP 2 weeks ago and discussed it all with him. He gave me a mild anti-depressant that seems to be helping a bit.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
-
I don't think wet describes it. We are getting soaked and have several more days coming.
-
Hi,
Diane, I hope you are feeling better...I am sorry to hear your trials...It is finally here - you will get to hug and squeeze your little sweetheart...I know the feeling...[And thanks for missing me
]
I am doing my state taxes and falling asleep.
This week end we had our yard cleared and I now have all the blinds and shades drawn on the back side of the house. I can't stand it - it looks like a farm ready for cabbage or something.... But we have 20 5-6' spruce trees coming next week.
Hi Val & Sheila....Ducky & Sandy, Linda & Chris, Meece & pt...
Am glad you enjoyed working, Sandy.
Meece, I'm sure they won't let you go...maybe they can hold that long term job for you. How exciting to have a new baby coming! DD is beautiful.
Chris, ...hope your job is going well. I am dizzy sometimes hearing all the fun things that are going on with your family.
Linda, sorry to hear about your DH's aunt. I hope everything went OK.
I took my students on a field trip today and it was cold - but the beach was nice. On the way back I felt tired and sick...not a good way to start the week.
Val, so sorry you are feeling so down...but it will take time. Glad your markers are close to normal.
Sheila, sounds like you are doing well...I think you know spring is coming this week!
pt - when is the cruise? It sounds really wonderful.
Ducky, well, we're waiting for pix! I hope the wedding was wonderful for all. And have a good trip back east.
OK enough TOL...
nite all

Diane -I'm glad you finally found out what has been making you sick - I hope all your ills go away after this. It's amazing that they don't take dental issues more seriously - dental "insurance" is "assistance" at best.
I hope your dental billing gets straightened out soon, Meece. I went without the additional gum surgery I was supposed to have because I couldn't get a billing error straightened out and by the time I found out they had written it off(2 yrs later), I found out I had cancer and then figured I shouldn't have it until I was done with that. Now it's been 6 yrs since I was supposed to have the surgery and I've still not had it(graft to correct recession.)
So sorry about DH's aunt, Linda.
Been tired - it has gone back and forth - good days and bad - every other day it seems. I'll have a bad day, then the next day is good, then the next day is bad... Oh well.
The week ended with DD doing the Relay for Life. It was COLD and windy. I woke up at 5 am and heard the wind gusting and felt so bad that she was camping out in it. But they made out okay. Bad thing was that she and her friends had made brownies and muddy buddies to sell. Others at the Relay didn't have stuff to sell, so they went out and got some stuff (from where I don't know). Our girls sold most of the muddy buddies, but didn't sell many brownies because others started selling brownies.

Joan We leave the first week in May. Looking forward to it.
