Yorkie...loved the begging squirrel picture. I sent it to my dh. He is always filling the feeders for those danged squirrels!
-
Pip, your dh and I think alike! Just put out fresh food on the deck for my little "babies." They've actually gotten pretty tame. I talk to them through the window and door, and they just stare back. Even though I may only be a couple of feet away, as long as I don't come out they won't run away. One or two will even come close to me when I'm outside.

The Bartender speaks for me, and says it far better than I ever could. SPEAK ON.

I LOVE tha above. LOVE IT. Love the family who lives in that White House in the background too. But maybe you already knew that.
Blue, haven't seen the Jim Carey video, but heard of it, Fux news now replaces Faux News in my dictionary.

Sunny, just so cute!!

-
Okay ladies, you did it again. You sent me to Funny or Die and I have been there for an hour now.
Loved this one.
-
thanks, pip - I hadn't been to that website b4. Hysterical.

I, too, stand with our bartender. It is a pretty poor spirit that mouths love for the baby in the womb while wanting to starve its mother by cutting food benefits and prenatal medical care. It is a rank hypocrite that wants the baby born but condemns it for needing medical care.
And Jackie, I LOOOOOOVED your post on the last page. It encapsulated in one place everything that is so wrong about the reactionaries' belief system.
Happy Easter, last days of Passover and Spring, everyone.

Happy Easter to those that celebrate it!
We were originally planning on hosting a small Seder last night, but with all that's been going on -- fire, water, unexpected work travel, general laziness -- we bailed on that plan, and instead just incorporated riffs on all the traditional foods into a delightful dinner party. Instead of gefilte fish, bluefish ceviche with chili-garlic paste. A salad of bitter frisee with toasted matzo and hard-boiled eggs. Roasted lamb shanks and potatos with parsley sauce. Charosset, because we can't do without it. For dessert, blood oranges with honey and pistachios, dairy-free coffee-cinnamon ice cream and what we've christened "matzo crack" -- chocolate-covered matzo-caramel-almond brittle. All that and way too much wine made for a wonderful night with my BFF who trained it down from the far reaches of Upper Manhattan.
Truth is, I will be very glad when Passover is, well, over. I fell off the matzo wagon on Thursday, when I had to do a work lunch and sandwiches were the only thing on offer, but Eric is trying to keep the holiday this year and while a big blow-out like last night is wonderful and delicious, the day-to-day maintenance is a challenge.
A first today: we went into Manhattan to catch the end of the famous 5th Ave Easter Parade, which might better be called the "Easter Milling Around." We did see some fabulous hats, several of which - Enjoyful, take note! - incorporated peeps.
DD is here for another day, heads back to Chicago tomorrow night. It's amazing to me, how much she's been through this past year, and how resilient she is.

Wait til you all hear all the flufferall about the Rector of the Episcopal Church of St. John, across the street from the White House, known as the CHURCH OF THE PRESIDENTS, whew, you'd think President Obama & his familty were the first to worship there from the Fake News, etc. criticism. Yikes, this is the Episcopal Church of GWBush, and all before ( and after) him.
Yeah, rain, the robins have been swarming in the few bare places in the fields, this rain should gie them lots more snow free room. A sure sign of Spring, when SO many of the big bellied red breasted friends are listening for and finding worms - like a giant nursery. They are SO ready for Spring.
-
I had forgotten how wriggley babies are.
He is totally gorgeous, but gets upset when his Mummy leaves the room. I slept in the same bed as them and during the night he reached out to touch me. I'll get my own place to sleep tonight in the lounge. Their place is a mess, but what can I do except subtley suggest things.
HELP!!!

Sun, isn't that always the way. But then the Fuk Farce, Faux news so enjoys making a federal case out of nothing thereby giving their watchers and listeners something to chew on and spew towards the left. There are a good many of us who never went for it, and I truly believe a whole other group who are quickly catching up and on.
Then there are a whole slew of comedians who watch with baited breath knowing they are going to fill up a whole 'routine' with the lunacy from just one segment. I'm sure they have had a lot to do wih the second group who are catching up and on. I wonder what changes 2014 and 16 might make to the" were in the know and got it covered station ".
Looking out my kitchen window, or from my deck, I'm starting to see the first 'strong' signs of spring. There are bushes out there that always 'give' it away. When I see little green leaves popping out there, we are most definitely on the way. Had windows open today but it's nearly 7:30 and I think we will have to think of closing them. Hope tomorrow has some sun but it is due to be a bit cooler I think.

Our beautiful bright green is everywhere. I love the new leaves on the trees. I also sighted my first hummers this weekend. Little Black Chins. Tonight three of them were fighting over the feeder.
Tomorrow back to the drip, drip, drip. Wish me a better week than the last one. Ugh! -
Chickadee,
I hope your treatment is kinder to you this week.
Wishing all a good week.

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend. It was pretty quiet around here as Tim is on the road right now.
It must be spring as I found my first big fat tick last night stuck to my belly. Those damn ticks creep me out. I immediately went searching for the Frontline to slather on the dogs. Don't know if I got the tick from them or picked it up myself down in the fields.
Yesterday was also my 6 year anniversay from cancer. I don't know why it is, but I get more scared the further out I get.
Chickadee ... Thinking of you today and the Ixempra and I hope it's kinder to you this week. I have a picture of Naniam (Brenda) and I that we had taken last week when I went to visit her. I need to get that posted. She looked wonderful.
love to all,
Bren

This is the picture of Brenda and I last week. I know most of the Stage IV gals are friends with her too. Her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes are coming back in. She looked so pretty. We had a great day together!

Beautiful Bren!
