yoo hoo sisters.
Wow after lovely shades of pink yesterday and lunch out, DH and I had a lovely afternoon/evening.
DH who's DIY brain never stops decides to put up white blind on landing window.
9 pm we start, him measuring and cutting, me tidying my bedroom drawers as can never find things I really want in the morning.
He goes downstairs to cut little more off and suddenly I felt as weak as a kitten
lay on bed and as he comes upstairs I ran to new throne room and everything I had eaten that day came back to haunt me !!
He is in bits on the landing thinking it was his fault poor love. After about fifteen mins felt soo much better.
Had a shower into pj's and miracle of miracles slept for 7 hrs. yay
second rad lunchtime today, then hopefully meeting my friend for coffee in cute village craft centre near hospital, then GD after school. Bliss.Nihahi. Sergei and I worried about you and sending extra big cuddles.Hope you got some zzzz's ?
Eagle ahead of you, magical and really good omen. He is bringing you extra strength.
Have a glorious day in the mountains with your friend, my best friend coming for a sleepover this week and can't wait. She knows me like no one else, we have been friends for over 60 years so she should do LOL.
Glad you like throne room, hope you all don't think I am showing off, just so thrilled that everything around me is improving and it DOES make you feel better.
Your poor DH, my DH like him, starts fidgiting when the girls get manhandled by another male.Lets face it if some gorgeous nurse started feeling up his wedding tackle we would be horrified. ( as if ) LOL.x
from Sergei too.Jackie, blessings to you.
Read your post to DH, the part where you said you had been Interior Designer. He is sitting there with BIG beaming grin.
It was a joint effort, but blind, chrome figure and NO clutter all ME.Thanks for the feed back. Shower room next yay.
Hope your girls settling down, when is everything healed ?xLiefie, mainly tupperware gets chucked, I'm not as daft as I look LOL. DH's as you say suffer as much if not more in some ways than us. Mine will weep if it all gets too much but I think that is good and may stop him having a heart attack. His eyes filled with tears this morning at a pic in our local paper. A tiny deer who's Mum won't have anything to do with him, is being reared by his male keeper. In the pic he is on the keepers desk gazing at him and almost kissing him and the keeper obviously adores the tiny creature too.
My blind is New York Skyline. Got it to just pull down at night but love it so much it stays there. In the day the sunlight comes thru the skyscraper windows and it is like being there again.
Hope you are ok ?
You two and your sleeping in, lots of us a jealous on here I am sure.
23 more zaps to go but means to an end and beats chemo into a cocked hat ! XAll you sisters hope minimal se's, pain and discomfort today and every day.
Namaste. -

Hi all....yes, MIA again....so busy at work, but a good busy. You gals don't post, you write novels....have mercy!!!!!
Edi, the throne looks fabulous....fit for the queen that you are 👑
Hope everyone is doing ok? Luv ya all. ❤ -
Nihahi, hope you got back to sleep hun....its horrible being wide awake at night....I sit there counting snores to put me to sleep...lol ( no i have funny holding hubbys nose to annoy him to turn over or the odd kick and pinch does the trick)!!
Hope you are feeling a little better ... I'm a little nervous about my surgery but in a way just wish it was done and dealt with so I can move on. Its nice to finish chemo but now another waiting game until I receive a confirmed date for surgery.
Well April will be a little family trip to look forward to so I'm excited for that. Easter next week 4 days off .... 4 days of eating chocolate....lol ( like I need Easter to eat chocky...its just a good excuse!!)
DH is not letting me go when i drop him off at kindy ( pre-school) he cries and then I have to sneak out. I wait a little then leave because the teachers he has are fantastic with him and get him distracted before he knows it...... its hard because he loves to go there enjoys him self its just letting mummy go . Today mum and I went shopping and had breaky at a cafe. It was really nice. tomorrow is work day.....never mind, thats my 'relaxation therapy' !!
I can hardly keep my eyes open tonight...its 11pm....think sleep is catching up with me...now to sleep an entire night. Its a hot night again tonight, 20 degrees....so hoping I can get some sleepies..!!
Well ladies enjoy your day/night.

Hi to all you wonderful ladies,
I am climbing out of the SEs from my final chemo. Feel like a real person this am. I was fooled into thinking my excitement over my final chemo was going to carry me right over all the nasty SEs. NOT! I think my body decided to tell me it was still in charge not my mind. Anyway as usual about 6 days worth of feeling crappy but I see the light now. I go 4/1 for my CT simulation and hopefully will start my rads the following week. So ready to get this over with. I now have just a bit of anxiety about the potential for increasing fatigue and making sure my skin doesn't fry. I have a good cream recommendation from my RO so just have to pick that up and get psyched.
Hope you all have a wonderful 1st day of spring. Florida is going to be having some rain which we need horribly. Gotta get the water so we can have all the beautiful flowers and green grass.
Hugs. Sheryl
-
scouser47 - that is big news!!! Congratulations, I like the manicure!!!
-
Could not figure out who the celebrity was in the newspaper photo......HANG ON....THAT'S OUR QUEEN EDI!!!!!!! Looking lovely girl, very rock star! You go right on with the reno photos....we love them.
Watch it on the "fatty, rich foods" for awhile, or you may have a repeat! fyi.....hubby and I love liver and onions too....we used to freak out kids out when we would order it in a restaurant. Rarely have it now, as he has cholesterol issues.
Traii.....my daughter used to be the same with the "separation tears". After awhile, it just seemed to be her "style", not really a sign of missing mommy. Amazing how fast the tears get turned off with the right distraction. Good to hear you're pleased with his teachers.
Sheryl, I lived in Miami for a couple years, actually did my last internship for therapy at Jackson Memorial Hospital. I'm a real notherner at heart, so it wasn't for me, long term, but there are things I miss about it. Are you a born and bred Florida gal?
-
Hi ladies -
Edi gorgeous !!!
Traii my Anthony did the same thing they always told me it was a show for me. I felt so guilty
. Now he's most 9 and still the sweetest little boy ( ok big boy) .
U girls are so busy on here I can hardly keep up.
Good to hear everyone is in the upswing... Love to all -
Nihahi, I'm thinking I should let kids come the second weekend after surgery. Between DH and DD they will manage the household as they did when I had two surgeries within five weeks last year, so I can just relax and recover. DD is an excellent cook who loves to bake bread from scratch like you, so I will be in good hands. So glad you saw the doc, and got those prescriptions. Hopefully they will start working so you can feel better. Enjoy the mountains; it's good for your soul.
Edi, it seems that new throne got a baptism of fire? You must be looking forward to the end of chemo; this can't be pleasant. I'm also prone to diarrhea because of IBS, so you have my full sympathy there. 25 rads is what I had too - totally doable. Enjoy your coffee date!
Traii and Dakota, my son was the same at that age. His separation anxiety was so bad that he had to go with me to school where I was teaching at the time. Still remember him playing quietly by himself on a blanket in the corner of the classroom. Sometimes he would sit on my lap while I read to the class - needless to say that the students found him much more interesting/amusing than the literature I was trying to teach. One day in the middle of a class he suddenly piped up, announcing that he urgently had to 'go'. Those Grade twelves were in stitches of course, and one of the boys offered to take him to the loo. Good old memories!
Sheryl, from here it is downhill all the way. The rad fatique for me translated into longer hours of sleep every night. Sometimes I would sleep for 12 hours, something that never happened before, of after for that matter. Other than that I can't say that I was more exhausted than with chemo, which took every ounce of energy out of me. You will be fine, I'm sure.
Hi Scottiee, you are one busy lady! And yes, it is hard to keep up here. Do you have any clear results yet for your son's condition?
This morning when we woke up, everything was white outside. Yep, it had snowed about two inches last night. It is almost the end of March? Hello? Anyway, it is raining, so it will melt quickly. DH invited a young colleague and his wife for dinner tonight. Will make barbecue pork ribs, ovenbaked sweet potato, green beans and a spinach salad. She is bringing dessert but before that I have to get me to the gym - did nothing yesterday, zip, nada, zero. Bad Liefie!
-
Edi.....you look like a real queen fit for your new throne....lol
Liefie....he had the monitor on last week for two days, but no phone call regarding results!!!!....the usual waiting game.
Did you gals read the latest research on BC and high fat dairy products?......bloody hell...
no decent cheese now...what's next????
Dakota....hope you're keeping strong!!!
Trail.....when my boys started kindergarten, all the other kids were crying and clinging to their parents, plus the parents were upset also.......my boys, not so much ....they ran
into the school and I Didn't even get a hug, kiss, nothing!!!!! Hmmm...does that say something about me as a mother....lol
Everyone else.....hope you are having a good day...love you all...❤ -
Everyones pre school stories are cute. 2 more sessions to go then off for 2 weeks. Lets hope ds will be better term 2!
My experience from upper body rads 17yrs ago i can not forget was the extreme fatigue. Anywhere i got a chance Id be asleep!!!
Windy here today...heres to my wig staying put on my head!! -
Scottiee, I read that research about high fat dairy. Oh man, I love cheese, but a few little pieces now and then will do no harm, I'm sure. Just came from the grocery store where I looked for lowfat cheese, which was nowhere to be found. DH eats a chunk of cheese every night before he goes to bed, but the lucky bugger does not have bc. My mouth is watering right now for a crispy grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup - yummy!!!!!
Waiting for results just sucks. This seems to be taking really long, and they surely must have that results by now? Give them a call, maybe? On the other hand, if it is something serious, they probably would have called already. Let's hope no news is good news in this case.
Okay. I've done three and a half miles fast walking in the gym, some grocery shopping, and have to start cooking now.
-
Had a lovely first day of spring, hiking in the foothills. Good time, good friend. Saw a moose, some deer and a coyote. Had a lovely relaxing evening, took the sleeping pill again................2 hours later........tried adding the anti-anxiety pill................ now more than an hour later.......gave up. Might as well post some "springtime in the rockies" photos for you to see. Winter is supposed to come back again tomorrow, but driving into town early to take daughter to an appointment, then meeting friends for either a walk, or just lunch, depending on the weather. By the time my pre-op clinic rolls around on Friday, I should be a zombie! This is not fun!!!!!!

-
What beautiful pictures! I grrew up where there were mountains, but now live in the middle of nothing but flat cornfields. So that is a nice treat. :-)
Now 7 weeks PFC and my sense of taste is coming back! Which is great, but maybe not all good, because I'm sitting here eating chocolate! (Cadbury mini eggs, they are sooooo good!!) It tastes wonderful, for the first time in ages, but I'm sure it's not good for me.
RO had me in for more scans & measurements, will start rads next week, probably Monday. Looking forward to getting going on this next stage of the journey. Hopefully it will go by quickly.
Hope all are well tonight. Especially you, Benny!!!
-
Jennie....good to hear from you. You sound well, must be the bunny eggs! So many people just starting their rads, and a few veterans who have gotten through all of theirs. How many rad tx will you have? Is that going to be "it" for you, or are you considering reconstruction?
Not sure where you live in the states, but if I remember my cornfield places, you should be fast asleep at this time. nightie, night and sweet dreams.
-
Battling the insomnia monster here, too. Maybe the rads will temporarily cure that problem! LOL. 33x for me, and no, not considering any recon. Because of personal and family history, any surgery is risky for me, so wouldn't do it unless absolutely necessary. After the rads, I guess the only thing left is the Tamoxifen. Feeling ambivalent about that. My onc says that most of her patients don't notice any SEs from it. Ha! Yeah, she said that about chemo too. Somehow I don't believe her! LOL!
-
It is amazing how we all find what we can accept on just get on with life, isn't it. It's a good thing that one type of solution isn't mandatory for everyone. Time also changes things too.
I agree with you, not to sure I'd trust her "minimal se's" expanation. Even though there may be some ladies who barely bat an eye at chemo, I think the majority of women have some se's, it's the severity of them that is the big unknown factor. Maybe she thinks it's best not to alarm you. I one of those who wants to know the details and possibilities.
Just after 3am here, I'm going to give the pillow/bed thing another try. Have to be up and functional in about 4 hours. Yikes!!!
Hope the sleep fairy comes to see you too.
-
Hi gorgeous girls.
second rad yesterday was great, coffee date lots of fun and GD at teatime couldnt get better.
Four hours sleep
eyes defo pee holes in snow now. DH gone out to see his friend so might get half an hour snooze.
Went to Docs 9am, gorgeous hunk
Edi delighted. Gave me something for the watery/dry eyes and sleeping pills YAY. Just going to take now and again to give me some rest. Finger pain now both thumbs ( weird ) he says not neuropathy just probably as skin is splitting on them to coat them in Germolene at bedtime and put on my glam ( not ) white gloves.
DH says like getting in bed with a Black and White Minstrel LOL
Best friend arriving lunch time tomorrow and after a takeaway and sleep over taking her for full English Brekkie Saturday morning.Scottie you are one busy lady ! Glad you like throne room lol.
Sod the high fat and bc sxxt next thing will be breathing in and out causes BC.
Chomp on a chunk of cheese and be happy.
My kids skipped into school as happy as sandboys too.xTraii, hope wig stayed on in the wind, temp still rather hot for you.
DS will be fine in Kindy, the teachers are skilled at distraction tactics, it just tugs at your heart strings.
I am chomping on choccie too at the moment, soooo lovely even tho just tiny bit due to sugar content feels good lol xSheryl, glad those 'orrible se's finally subsiding. I just know mine will take a while to go after last session.
Had third rad no frying, no discomfort at all. Just coat boob in aqua cream after to be on safe side, this week has gone so fast it will be over before you know it.
Hope that rain has arrived xGogirls, Thank you and hope you are well x
Nihahi, Glad u like remo pics but not a patch on yours really magical. Nice to have good day with good friend too.
Hope sleep fairy came to you in the end.
Think my chucking up was more maybe food poisoning than fatty food so will be giving liver a miss in future.
Good luck with pre op tomorrow, thinking of you xDakota, how are things ? Hope you are staying strong and wonderful x
Liefie, family coming second week sounds sensible, you are bound to feel stronger and less sore then.
DD bakes bread !! one of mine can burn the ass out of a pan of water never mind baking.
Taking DS to work with you is really cute and wanting to GO is just typical lol
That Dinner is making my mouth water takeaway required please. xEyelids drooping and must give in as have tons of shopping and getting spare room gorgeous still to do.
Lovesya ALL laters xxxxxx

Hi ladies -
What great pictures nihahi !! Glad u had a wonderful day!!!
Edi- glad rads is going well u seem pretty busy urself !!!
This work thing really gets in the way ... Lol.
Things are ok here. Trying to keep my mind off things and accept life as it is. Hope all u girls have a fantastic day !!! Hugs

Jennie and Nihahi, so sorry that you are battling the insomnia monster, and what a monster it is! Still remember those sleepless nights during chemo when steroids prevented sleep. I become a very unpleasant person if I can't sleep, irritable, miserable, short tempered, impatient, bitchy, etc. etc. So it just sucks that you guys are struggling so hard with this. What can I say? It seems you are doing everything you can . . . something's gotta give. Beautiful photos, Nihahi!
Jennie, remember that it is mostly the people who have problems on Tamoxifen who post here. The rest just get on with it. That first pill back in August almost felt like I was swallowing cyanide - LOL! Did not want to take it. The first few weeks I had weird dreams, a litttle dizzyness now and then, and hot flushes of course. Now only the flushes remain. I get maybe three to five per day, they go away within a minute or two, and I mercifully don't get any at night, so I sleep well. That is totally doable. Only other complaint is that I struggle to lose weight, but it may well have everything to do with being post menopausal.
Edi, my DD is the opposite of most other modern 30-year olds. She grows her own herbs and veggies in summer, keeps a bread 'starter' in her fridge which she feeds regularly, bakes yummy sour dough and other bread for the week on weekends, drags her new DH to the farmer's market on Saturday mornings to buy organic food, cooks from scratch every night, does yoga, will catch a mouse or spider in her house and set it free outside, hugs trees and loves all animals . . . lol. Only thing she will kill (reluctantly!) is a fly. I honestly don't know where I got her, but I just enjoy her so much. The love of gardening comes from her dad, but the rest is a mystery. They are looking to buy a house now, and she wants an acreage so she can keep chickens and horses . . . the poor DH got much more than he bargained for. That yard will be like a zoo.
Dakota, hugs to you too!
-
Hi Ladies - sorry I haven't posted in so long. The last round hit me a bit harder and it took longer to rebound. In the chair for Round 4 right now - so looking forward to seeing the last of the red devil (even thinking of it makes me queasy - something about that drug psychs me out!). MO predicts Taxol will be easier - did you find that Dakota?
Wanted to say belated congratulations to Sheryl for finishing chemo and to Websister for your last rad session! Websister, so sorry to hear about your mum.
Nihahi, as usual your photos are amazing - must be wonderful living so close to such stunning scenery!
Love your headline Edi - looking good!
I had a lovely visit with Mum, although I wasn't up to much while she was here. We both found it very hard to say goodbye. She plans to come back in May or June when hopefully the weather will be much nicer. My brother arrives tomorrow evening so I will have more family present - he has promised to paint my kitchen, hallway and spare bedroom while he's here.
I hope all is going well for those of you starting or about to start rads. Had my last PT session last night, so hopefully I'll be ready (probably June for me). Has seeing a PT lymphedema specialist helped with "assuming the position" for rads Jennie?
It's very quiet here today - think I may send DH out for some lunch and lean back and have a dose.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day/evening. -
HI all - I just found my last post on March 15. Life does sometimes get in the way but in a good way. DD came out for short visit last weekend mostly to get Dad to do her taxes. BUT I am going to get to go the hockey game Sat. DH has managed to get an early shift so he will be home to do baby goat duty Sat. night and then again very swiftly on Sunday morning b4 work. I do owe him something. Must get to house cleaning/shoveling out stuff. Hopefully in another week or 2 this baby can go to an outside pen but cold this weekend maybe a freeze with my fruit trees blooming. Wahhh.
Nihahi - Hope the sleeping is better. Me, too, and no reason for it. I just have seasons when I don't sleep well. I'm a night owl but need to get up early to help DH with goats (yes, my goats). Have you tried sleeping in a different place, sofa maybe but maybe alien boob won't let you. Loved the mountain pics. No cornfields here, hay soon, but no corn.
Edi - Love the new bathroom. And how in the world did you post the newspaper pic? I managed to post one thing one one thread and could not get anything else. It was a joke picture. Have yet to get any goat pics.
Dakota - Hang in there girl.
Liefie - DD sounds lovely. I bet you love having her around. So soothing.
Caitlin - Round 4 of how many? Hope you have fewer SEs this time.
Jennie - I can't imagine your onco saying that "most women don't notice SEs from chemo". What the heck does she consider SEs???? Tamoxifen is a different matter and Liefie is right. You'll see those on here who have SEs much more than those who take it with no problems. So it kind of hijacks your thinking that all have nasty SEs which is not true. I have very minimal from my Femara and so far no reason to even think about stopping it.
Busy 4 days here. Haircut this afternoon. Shopping tomorrow (DH off to goat sit), to DD's on Sat. afternoon and back about mid afternoon Sun. Easter musical at church Sun. night. WHEW, I'm tired already.
TTYL. Going to wash goat smell off.
Websister, thanks for letting us know about Benny. Hoping we hear from her in person soon.
-
Caitlin, good hearing from you, and that you are doing reasonably well. 4 Rounds behind you - that's quite something. How many Taxols are you getting? Aren't mums just the best? And your brother visiting and painting those rooms, how nice of him to do that. In 2008 my sister visited me all the way from Africa. She painted my front door and the stair railing in the house. Then she proceeded to cover all my recipe books in a nice black and white paper as well as plastic. Every time I see these things, it reminds me of her. Take it easy, and rest up.
Luvmygoats, enjoy your outing on Saturday. The goat nanny/midwife deserves a break too now and then! Hopefully the freeze will miss your fruit trees - that just sucks. Do you get deer in your yard eating your plants? That's so frustrating. We have that problem, and DH has often threatened to shoot them which he may not do of course. He makes a witches' brew from eggs, Tabasco sauce, dishwashing liquid etc. which he sprays mainly on his beloved rose bushes. It stinks up the yard, but it keeps the deer away. There is nothing as disappointing as looking forward to flowers in spring and summer that you have worked so hard to have, and a deer who sees your garden as a restaurant, and come and eat all the buds just as they are about to bloom. Bambi ain't very popular around here - lol.
Benny, how are you? And Diamond? And that adorable ginger fluffball?
Scottiee, you will be so proud of me. Went to yoga this morning, and had a session with a personal trainer afterwards. Unbeknownst to me she had set up an abs and butt bootcamp in the room with about 20 different stations, and chased me around that circuit twice, almost killing me in the process. Hardly made it home where I flopped on the couch. Tomorrow I will be lucky if I can get out of bed - lol.
-
Good evening Ladies,
Hubby has hockey on tv, so I'm gonna do some messaging catchup! Took everything I had to get out of bed this morning in time to drive into town and pick up daughter for her appt. Thankfully, it turned out to be a good one for her, and now there is some hope this doc might actually try to sort out her symtoms, instead of brushing everything off to the "depression" umbrella. I had picked up a sweet little stuffed bunny for her yesterday, and had it sitting on the car seat when I picked up her...seemed to help her smile a bit.
Walk and lunch with the girls turned into lunch and dessert, no walk, as it was snowing at the time. Always good to get together with good people. Tomorrow is my pre-op clinic, then I'm just gonna chill on the weekend.
Not sure how much more I'm going to pursue the sleeping pills, as they certainly haven't helped me sleep, and I do NOT like that "fuzzy" feeling in the morning. I think twcbn is playing a huge part in my current sleep issues, and the only solution to that seems to be my date with my surgeon! I can't really say I feel I am overly anxious or worried about the surgery, as I am so, so, so needing the relief it will bring from twcbn.
Anyway, time to do the supper dishes.....hope you have an awesome girlfriend time Edi, Caitlin, you're doing so well, be proud of yourself!!!!! Hugs to everyone!!!!(((((((((((((X))))))))))))))))))
-
Hi lovely ladies -
Another week down. Congrats to all those who finished up this week. Hope the SE's are easing up!!!
We have another busy hockey/soccer weekend!!! Can't wait, make life seem normal.
Have to report I started to see done eyelashes I am the most excited person ever!!! Who would have thought that eyelashes would make my day !!! So sick of putting the fake ones on !!!
God bless !!! Hugs -
Dakota, totally understand your excitement re those eyelashes. It felt so good to be putting on mascara again when mine reappeared. Such a simple thing, but another huge step on the way to healing, and feeling like a normal woman again! I didn't even bother trying putting on fake ones, just went without.
Nihahi, this is a very stupid question, but what is 'twcbn'? Been wracking my chemo brain, but can't figure it out. Did you fare any better as far as sleep last night?
This board is a little quiet. Where is everybody?
-
Hi all
Up early on a saturday cold wet morning to take car in for service
How is everyone doing?
Congrats on eyelashes Dakota
My hair is coming back quicker than ever!! Legs shaved twice now!!
Things that excite us hey...lol
Enjoy your day all -
Traii, I'm wondering where Edi is. Hope she's okay.
Nihahi, how was the pre op visit?
-
Hi all-recovering from a bit of a stomach bug......feeling a little more (new) normal now.
Nihahi, so sorry that the sleep aids aren't working......twcbn is working overtime to make your life miserable. :-( I think you may be onto something, and when the surgeon cuts that b**ch out, there will be real cause for celebration. Glad your daughter had a good dr. appt. Just having someone listen to us and validate our concerns is huge!
Dakota, happy your eyelashes are returning. I would be like Liefie; I wouldn't bother with them. (I am basically lazy!) (that doesn't mean I think YOU are, Liefie!)
Liefie, I don't want to steal Nihahi's thunder, but I THINK that twcbn means "that which cannot be named".
I hope everyone has a great weekend.....I am going to lay low to get completely over this bug!
Oh-I almost forgot! Nihahi-loved loved loved your photos!
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie -
Moviemaniac, thanks for enlightening me re twcbn - would never have figured it out on my own. Nihahi won't mind, I'm sure. About the eyelashes, I was indeed too lazy, but also knew I would not have the patience to struggle with it. Even on DD's wedding day I went lashless, if there is such a word. The way of the least resistance . . . that's me. Hope that stomach bug will leave you alone now!
