Yes, fredntan.
Our meet and greet is sort of formal, cocktail really. But girl, it's VEGAS, wear what you like.
When we go to NY NY Piano bar, we all wear our "SAVE THE TA TAS" t-shirt/tank top. Someone will post the link as time goes by. You don't "have" to, but it's kinda cool. Identifies us as a group. Pink boa's and tiara's seem to be hot, too.
Colleen: I'll be driving in, so I'll bring my coffee set up, too!
-
@Estepp:
Your March 6 post got me through yesterday.
Thank you.
I am a husband.
I always think: 'when are the newer, more accurate survival stats coming out?'
YOU are the new stats.
And the people just starting to deal with this need to know you.
You are right about newbies (and families) searching for hope here...
We need to know you're out there.
Please continue to pop in and give us hope. Everyone, please. -
@Colleen - Some of us come in on Thursday and leave 9 days later,............
!!!

I did this trip a couple of years back. New ladies - there were 2 highlights for me. One was meeting 2 ladies from our chemo group, and the other was the trip organized to Nordstroms to get a proper bra fitting. They were awesome - treats for us, makeup dos; kind, sensitive fitters, and an incredible selection of bras. I live in a small town with a small Macys and would not dream of being fitted there with one of those young things who probably went to high school with my kids. So a bit different experience to ones mentioned above, but a good one!
-
Yes we usually dress up for the meet and greet Friday night!!!
-
COLT45 I am humbled.
Sir, you are welcome. These 50+ women..... are ( OR WERE..LOL) ages 32-68... Most being in their 40-50's. I think we all connected to this point all those years ago... because we were all young(( or sure felt like it) when we got the BC news... most of us were FLOORED!
Our TATA MOTTO......... " NEVER ALONE"............. this is for hubby's too. Keep the Faith brother!
-
FOR ALL NEWBIES..........
All the ins and outs of Vegas will get posted in or around July/Aug. If you have any questions... please post them and one of these AMAZING girls will pipe in...
But Lists and such will surface at the end of summer..... I can promise you that you will have a full itenerary and feel comfortable landing in Vegas 2013~
It all comes together. Meet a sister here on BCO... that you might wanna room with or bring your BFF that had /has BC too.

Good afternoon sisters!!!!
I am so excited about our 5th year reunion. I for one cannot wait to do the activities that will be planned and see how year after year we change (improve) and add new sisters to the trip.
This year my first task is to get rooming information together. Once you agree on roommates, please send me a private message and I will add you to the list. Tracey travels a lot so we will post the list hopefully once a week and more often once the date gets closer.
Also if you are one of the sisters that likes to coordinate social gatherings, we could use your help. Last year we had a great lady (anniese) that did a lot of the leg work, as she knows, I am forever grateful.
I cannot wait to see you all again and to meet all the new sisters joining the group.
Hugs
G.

Does anyone have the contact information for that darling newlywed couple we met at the meet and greet? She was recently diagnosed and we all cried together taking photos? We need to get her in the loop. I have total chemo brain regarding her name and it seems like I might hve put her info in my old BlackBerry - - OR I watched someone else put her info in their BlackBerry --
Never a dull moment in my world..... xoxo Colleen
-
@my560sel - Let me know when you are coming and going so I can schedule accordingly........
-
g: remember I am not too far away and have friends who live in Vegas, work there, etc..insiders, so to speak. I'll help where I can.
Last year I met a very nice lady on bc.org who has a wine and cheese shop in Vegas. Tried to get her to join us but it didn't work out. Maybe we could arrange a little wine and cheese tasting at her shop? hmm....
-
With this group your friend better be prepared cause we love our wine! LOL!
Tracey and Gisella thank you for landing such a beautiful hotel for us. Very special year for many of us isn't it. Looking forward to lots of sister time, laughing, and dancing the nights away! -
I'm so super excited. lol. shopping soon for my Tiara and boa and cute little dress. my girls will be done in july so they are excited to come too.
-
Sorry to say I will not make it to Vegas this year, but I have a very good reason. I will be meeting 7 women from my Sept 08 chemo group in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee on the very same weekend! We are renting a cabin and along with celebrating our 5 year anniversary, we will be spreading the ashes of one of our group that we lost last May (Jane M on bco). Luckily, I met with her 2 years prior when I shared a cabin with Jane on the Breast Cancer Survivors Cruise to the western Caribbean. Just before Jane passed last year, one of our "sisters" had a charm made for each one of us that was engraved with "Fall Girls of '08". Genia, who also shared a cabin with us on the cruise, was able to go see Jane and give her the charm a couple weeks before she passed. I will miss all my TaTa sisters and look forward to seeing the photos when y'all get back. xoxox
Juli
-
We will miss you, Julie, but enjoy your get together. I hope to see you around LA.
-
Juli what a beautiful tribute to a lost friend. That 5 year anniversary is going to be bittersweet, I'm sure, without her. Congrats to all of the survivors for making it this far!
-
Juli, we will miss you. Enjoy your trip.
Hugs, Cheryl
-
Juli we will miss you, but what an incredible thing your group will be doing. Hate that you will be in my neck of the woods while I'm in yours. Take care my friend and hope to see you sometime soon. Xoxo
-
I'm doing something very special today to pay tribute to some of our fighting sisters. Hope to post more on Facebook tonight. Stay tuned!
-
(JULI)

-
I'm soooooo looking forward to this! I would like to find roomies.
Beansie
-
Beansie....I think I already have roomies lined up, but I'm looking forward to meeting you in person, after all our chats!
-
How do we find you on Facebook? Hope I'm able to go this year!
-
Luvmaui contact Estepp in a private message - she adds people to our private tata site on facebook
-
Colleen, I don't think I'll be making it this year. Not 100% sure yet but it doesn't look like it's in the cards for me.
Seems I'll have to convince hubby that this expense has priority over all our other expenses this year!....lol If I don't go, I'll truly miss all of you but will be there in spirit for sure. I'm excited for all the newbies, it really is an amazing, bonding experience!
Terri xo
-
Terri, That's what I tell DH, that I will not miss this trip for anything. This trip beats all our other expenses hands down. Okay, so maybe when I return from Vegas, the utilities may be shut off and the mortgage payment will not be made and we have a forclosure notice taped to our door. (HA HA) But the trip was worth it to see all my sista's. We will miss you if you do not make the trip and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I remember the first year you and Sylvia attended, it was the 2nd Ta Ta Sisterhood get together. You joined us for the preparty on thursday and the airlines had lost your luggage. Boy is that a traumatic situation. We enjoyed drinks and getting to know one another.
Mom says, Hi to all and is still buying outfits for Vegas. I just can't keep up with her. She is way to cute.
Hugs, Cheryl
-
Awe Terri my canuck sister going to miss you if you can't make it this year!!!
