Hey, Deb, Chris, Diane, Linda, Joan, hugs
Meece, then the mother shouldn't have moved, another wedding you are a brave woman....my son said he was getting married and he wanted it to be a surprise to my dil, told him not a good idea, he said that is the way he wanted it, help me mom....so I made phone calls arranged things, and then told him, tom, she has to pick out her wedding dress you have to tell her, well he did and she took it out of my hands, thank goodness....it was the thought that counted on both our ends (sons and mine). I never had anything to do with it from there, she didn't want me to....so whatever...
shiela resisting candy....hhhhhhmmmm...I buy it and put it in the frig...if I don't eat it they will saying it stayed in there too long....so now have dorm size frig my room with candy, do they take it out of there, yep.....

Good Morning! Happy Birthday to me! On my way to Ortho so my son can get his braces off!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!
Hope you get some sleep Sandy. XOXO
-
So sorry you have those issues with chemo, Sandy.
I made a champagne cake for the first time Tuesday. DH and I are not big sweets eaters but we managed to finish what was left after the birthday party. Diane, you bake, have and thoughts on making a champagne cake lighter?
I have two Toshibas and DH has one and they are all different. They have been reliable other than my old one has had issues with battery charging. I set it up without battery (AC only) for my mother to use at her embroidery machine and it is working fine for her. Never had a keyboard issue.
I love Peeps this time of year. If I can keep from opening them I'm fine, especially since most packages now have like ten in them. When we were young weren't there just 4 per pack?
-
So, last weekend I went to finalize the plans for the winemaker's dinner with the winery owners. She had made up the menu and it was my job to get the recipes in order. So I took samples of things including a stalk of fennel to dicuss portion sizes.
So when I brought out the fennel she asked what it was. She said she didn't know what fennel was when she put it on the menu. She has been so firm on what she wanted on the menu, and now I find out she just pulled these things off the internet...I guess. Anyway, the menu took a couple of twists and now I have two days left and more things to work out. I can't wait for this to be over!
-
Two reasons to celebrate today, Linda!!
and....Have a wonderful birthday!
-
Meece. did she at least choose any menu items that could feature their own products?
-
(((Sandy)))
I hope you can snooze like a tired puppy today... -
I want that puppy. (can't have it - allergic)
Funny how adamant people can be about things they no nothing about. Hope the rest of the planning goes smoothly.
Hope you get some sleep, Sandy. You need a lock for your fridge... I'm running on 3 1/2 - 4 hrs sleep. I usually don't get a full night's sleep. I go to sleep later than I should and then can't sleep once people start getting up for the day and if "D"H gets up during the night...well, if I'm not in a deep sleep cycle, I wake up and usually can't go back to sleep. that's what happened last night. then I try to sleep for a couple hrs then people get up and that's it for me. (I think I could use that Intermezzo new drug I've seen advertised - a shorter acting ambien) This is why I'm a zombie. And if I'm tired during the day, I usually can't sleep if I try. Just keep waking up every 10 min and then get a headache... I really need my own one-room apartment where I can live alone. I hope I can concentrate when I meet with the store manager today.
Joan - you are so good to your daughter- babysitting in another state! And I thought it was far for my parents to drive 25 minutes.
Congrats on DS's braces coming off, Linda!
Hi Chabba!
I saw some Peeps yesterday that were chocolate mousse with a chocolate base - 3 in a pack. Didn't get any. Was tempted.
-
Thanks Joan!
Meece, what is a champagne cake??
-
Chris, I have those same sleeping problems. I usually get about 4 hours and then just lay awake. Hate that!!
Don't like Peeps, THANK GOD!!! Those of you who do.....Enjoy!!
-
Meece - there are so many versions of champagne cake. Are you doing pink? White? Are you using whipped cream or rum custard?
Linda- Happy Happy Day!!
-
I just used vanilla custard, so that might be where I could improve. Did white, but I am working on eventually getting the perfect cake. I am sure there will be plenty of less than sucessful tries.
-
I'll taste test for you...mmmmm...caaaake...
-
To my friend Linda....
Hugs and more hugs....♥
-
Have a very Happy Birthday Linda
-
I'll test the cakes with Chris too!
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Nie to see you PT.
Went to lunch with a couple sisters a neice and nephew. It was fun. Now off to pick up DS from the Dteam (Detention Team, lol).
-
HI....sorry i wasn't ignoring all the delicous cake recipes....I can't bake.....
meece...i love the baby's holding on on the AG........
Diane...you asked me about something on the last page...no i never tried it.........
-
Farro - it's another ancient grain that is absolutely delicious. And really good for you. It's usually in Mediterranean and Italian markets.
Meece - personally if you are having champagne cake, you are likely celebrating something - I think that cake needs to be full on fabulous and the fat can be removed from another meal.
-
never heard of champagne cake....
have I slept, well I slept from 7 - 9 that is it....will take a benedryl again tonight, thanks for asking...
Glad you are having a wonderful birthday, Linda...
Hello everybody else..
-
(((Sandy)))
I'm no longer a good girl...after all i had to celebrate Linda's birthday and had 21 mini eggs
-
21....wow, I don't even like them...so you had some for me....
-
21 mini eggs is like 3 regular eggs, right? So that's not so many...
-
You're too funny Chris...
Here figure it out for me......
-
Food math. Maybe that's what DD's problem is in calculus - she's using food math.
-
Tutor just left...cha ching...He's going to be able to retire early by the time he's done with DD ... I think there is a conspiracy going on between the universities and the tutoring agencies...Here, you do a shit job teaching so people will hire us to teach their kids properly... #whatdidIpaytuitionfor
-
Hope you had a wonderful Birthday, Linda.
Champagne cake has champagne in the cake and in the icing and is usually topped with shaved white (or colored) Chocolate. It melts in your mouth!
Linda, I though Dteam meant dream team, or at least that is what my mind interpreted as I read it.
I went out and harvested AG today. Some had become way too tall. It doesn't help because I only keep the tender parts. There were small pieces of AG on the ground where the baby had shredded it.
-
checking in it is friday usually the bad day....boys are idiots again, wish they would leave me alone....slept last night thanks or benedryl, pain meds and took a zofran for nausea, they told me as the chemo apparently I was taking too much only 16mg a day I was taking like 32, popping it like candy...it does something to the heart, whatever.....
happy friday, hope you are all ok...
-
Hope today isn't too bad for you, Sandy and that the boys knock it off. Glad you got some sleep. What did you take too much of? The zofran? They really need to make sure patients know how much is too much - especially if it can mess with your heart. Doctors...
-
thanks chris and just will say can't keep their hands to themselves.....and yea, zofran and wouldn't know if I hadn't mentioned it in chemo wednesday, how I was taking it like candy and that I might have to go the illegal way if it doesn't work, if you know what I mean....I will sleep later, usually I fade about 2ish....but that is everyday....but on friday after chemo it everything kicks in......sorry about venting...just grumpy!!
-
Sandy - you don't sound grumpy at all but ¥ou have every right to do just that. Can't you legally have the illegal now? The illegal is legal for everyone here now.
