-
Glad to hear no worries........hugs
-

I am going to write to the mods because I am getting logged off constantly, causing me not to see my favorites. Anyway, I read backwards a few pages. There is such a wonderful connectivity and support system on this thread.
Sheila - hope you are feeling better. Have you considered gluten as the probem?
Ducky - when is the f/n flight?
Chris - you are so close to starting anew with work - I hope it's wonderful.
Meece = I will definitely appreciate my asparagus much more. How was the job?
Linda = did you make it to your mammo appt ok?
Joan - I am with you, love to see the snow but don't want to deal with ice. When I drive to our cabin tomorrow, there may be a bit, but I am timing myself for mid-day to avoid it.
Sandy - Hugs, hugs nd more hugs - and push for PET as LInda said.
Hey Deb!

Hi all,
Diane, was thinking of you today...you haven't mentioned the house in awhile. We are starting some renovations and I know it probably won't go as I envision. (everything done by easter LOL)
Sheila, I hope you feel better....maybe we'll see the sun tomorrow.
Chris, I L'dOL over your shopping trip and trying on the trendy stuff and realizing (me anyway) that no matter what I put on, I am just a little too out of shape to ever look good in it.
And shoes...I like winter 'cause I can wear boots with pants or uggs outside...don't have to worry about toes being polished...but soon I will have to stuff into the summer shoes. I found shoes that I bought several times in 3 colors...they are no longer in the stores but I found them on line...I know that won't last. I have been binge-shopping lately to have something presentable for work. I see at least 100 to 200 students each day (not all mine) and it's bad enough the A.I.s are making me look 100 years old...so I try really hard to dress nicely. One week I'll binge on jewelry. Last week I ordered 6 pair of shoes from DSW but I am taking back 4 to the local store - so I only have to pay for the ones that fit. They never have my size in the store so I order. sorry...rambling.
As for my house, well, I've been waiting over a year for bathroom renovation. DH insisted on getting a guy from his friends...so finally, he says the guy is coming over Thursday and I have to go home from work to wait for him. So Wednesday night I look around at my house and decide nobody can come in....but DH took stuff and put it in the basement...I stayed up late just sprucing up...and then this morning the guy canceled. No kids here....just all their stuff and it has to go!
Sandy, I am glad the doc is taking a look at the report and I hope you get the information you are expecting. More than anything, I hope it is not something stressful for you to have to deal with. Hugs & prayers...
What a week...started out with hyper anxiety spell...followed by days of generalized pain...my face looks older and drawn...and today I felt so down all day about everything. It's definitely chemical. Am sad and can't shake it....and y'all know when we get down, then the smallest task looks like a mountain. I have a lab test in the AM and I look at my car all covered with snow and I can't find the energy to clean it off and go out.
I went to Whole Foods tonight after work - about 10 miles out of my way and 45 minutes from home...when I realized all the junk that is added to the foods I've been eating for most of my life, I feel like I can't really ever make up for it!
Here I go...complaining about non-issues!
Smile, self....be happy....be grateful....(I am)
Hugs to all here
Joan
Maybe sleep will help.... -
Here you go, Sheila.
I cut these and have another 9 or more getting ready. Since they've only been peeking up a week or so, it will be another couple of weeks before I will get a good crop to harvest.
-
The job was a bit stressful yesterday, but my client was a no show today so I stayed one hour then went home. I got paid for 2 1/2 hours, but that doesn't make it better.
-
Meece....love your AG......must be great to eat it fresh picked......I can get it that way on the roadside stands going to the shore, but no one goes this early in the season.........my husband and I went every weekend when he was alive........not since then.....lucky we will get down much this year...........daughter working full time now, and GS starts golf for his HS middle of Augest, so who knows.........maybe it's time to consider selling.......
-
Thanks. I started with over 12 plants but the neighbors cat decided to use my planter as a litter box and uprooted many of them, damaging the roots. They will spread but I still have issues getting the same sized spears on the same day so I cut some and put them in the fridge and wait for the next cut.
-
Joan - I had a no-show from the carpet installer yesterday, but this was my only one throughout. The upstairs (my daughter's room) is now 95% done. The exterior renovations are almost ready to be painted. And that leaves my bathroom as the onliy remaining project. I have to go look at tile and slabs etc. Not reconfiguring, just updating. I have been very lucky to have such a great contractor.
-
DS and his wife have been messing around with the person who was doing the remod on the house they just bought. (The remod was underway when they signed the papers.) The cabinet guy had drips all over the batheroom cabinets and so he was to redo them. The finish then never cured so he came in last week with new cabinets, installed and stained them and claimed his gun for applying the finish was broke and he'd be back monday. He left the plastic draping up in two of the baths so you can use the toilet but that's it. As of last night, he has been a no show.
Did I mention I thought the kids were idiots for signing on a house with the "improvements" incomplete? Oh well, they didn't ask us even though DH has been a project manager in the construction industry and did final walkthroughs as a part of his daily life for the past 12 years. Instead they took her dad, a welder, and her housewife mother, for the walk through. Well at least we are trying to let them grow up and make decisions on their own.
-
Meece those AG are so cute.....and that is the hardest thing to do, let them make the mistakes, the issue is do they learn from them, of course not, on my end....
Joan, stress I have 5 kids and 7 grandchildren, that says stress right there....
Linda, how is DS's
Deb, Ray, Shiela, where r i?
Diane thanks for checking in....
I have been asking for a PET scan for a year, it costs 15,000 you would think it came out of his pocket...whatever.....issues with oldest granddaughter, she is 17...so afraid for her, she ran away 2 days ago, we found her but, well lets just say, she isn't home with my son....or her mother.....or me....going to see her tonight I hope...it also is Mom mom and Andrew day which makes me smile, AND it is my week off from chemo so that pleases me.....
BBL take care peeps...
-
Sandy......does it ever end. ........yea, when they close the lid for the final time....hugs
-
SO SICK OF SNOW! We have over a foot and it is still snowing like crazy. Have been out shoveling/snow blowing since 9. Will have to do it again. Will catch up with you all later.
-
1-3 inches turned to almost a foot.....My area is burried again..........lalalalalalalaaaa
Meece....thanks for the AG picture..I hope you get many many more
Diane....I enjoyed hearing your voice....I love our chats....♥
Linda....Winter wasn't very polite this year....keep shoveling....
Sandy...I'm glad she is found and is in a safe place...hugs
(((TOL)))
-
Keep Dreaming...........
-
Keep Shoveling..........
-
We have dodged the bullet every time.....right Sandy......
-
Glad your granddaughter is safe, Sandy. Have fun with Andrew!
Was worried you might have lost power, Linda. Don't work too hard shoveling!
You got more snow than they said too, huh.
Here's my picnic table snow gauge
First they said 3-6", then they increased it to 4-8" I think it is about a foot and still snowing.
Reminds me of a joke my mother made when I was a kid, "Well, I just got in from shoveling 3 inches of partly cloudy..."
Did you and Sandy get much snow, Ducky?
-
Sorry the kids are experiencing the joys of working with contractors, Meece. Unless you know someone is good, it's a crapshoot. Hope they finally get the work done soon!
How are you feeling, Diane?
-
Same here Chris. We have over 20 inches now. Just sent the kids back outside to shovvel again. Scattered power outages here. My fingers are crossed!
-
Christ.....honestly for the little bit of grass that got covered, I would say "no"......we literally have had.........total 6 inches all winter....somehow it just keeps missing us.....it has been windy, and a lot of rain, but that I it........honestly I think Jersey, and Delaware got more than we did.......I have not had to clean my car off one time it is so little, by the time I go out, it is already gone........the weekend it is suppose to hit 60+. Now that is my kind of weather.......
-
Ray, when my DFS (17 now) was 2.5, I left my wedding rings on the bahroom vanity. He took them , wrapped them in toliet paper and threw them away. He did not tell us. At that time, we had trash pick up every 2 weeks. I kept searching for my rings to no avail. The night before trash pickup, I was talking about the rings at dinner with my DH. I was so upset. My DS said...Mom, maybe you should put your things away and not leave them all over the place. Hmmmmm..... WHAT?? He then told us what he did. My DH and I mean DH thenn went through our large dumpster, filled with food and diapers and FOUND MY RINGS!!!! Don't you just llove kids!
23 inches of snow here. I hurt!
-
Diane, so glad to hear you are nearing the end of your renovation adventure. We are starting with one bathroom and working up from there....but if I had my way, I would hire someone I know who does impeccable work and do the entire house over the next several months. DH has other ideas. I have no patience already!
Linda, what a story! (i mean the rings...)...I couldn't find my rings before my first DD's graduation...I thought my toddler flushed them but one of them turned up later in someone's car...my daughters' friends were in the house and obviously stole my rings. I never got the heirloom engagement ring back........ but 23" of snow????? I had no idea...they don't talk much about Boston on the news here....I just watched TWC and they were showing the coastal damage in MA. it's been quite a winter for NE. My back breaks for you!!!
Chris, I didn't know you got that much snow...my DD in CT has not communicated her snowfall.
I canceled my lab test today and slept in ... got to work close to noon. it snowed through 5 pm but never accumulated more than a few inches...roads were always clear due to warm ground.
Ray, not sure if you mentioned, but do you have a new computer?
Sandy, I hope DGd is OK. I have 5 kids and 7 grandkids too (first grandson lived with me for 22 years...DD#2 went to NYC and forgot to come back for him)...and I know about s-t-r-e-s-s too...they are all off Long Island now but there is always something going on. I just can't go running every time s**t happens. So glad it's your break from chemo week.
Ducky, I hope you get some quality time at the shore this summer...I think you have more good memories to make.... I just hate when things have to change....my DD always rents a beach house here in my town each summer...but this year due to economy she is not coming. I can hardly stand the thought of summer without my little grandaughters with me at the beach and walking in town getting ice cream...and babysitting and reading them endless stories...guess I'll have to go to NJ to see them more often. At least they are only 2 hours away.
Sheila, hope you are doing better ... I think the nice weather this week end will remove the slush and bring warmer days...that should bring a spring preview!
Hugs all
Joan -
Wow Chris snow sucks, that much anyway, lollllGlad you and Linda didn't lose power....
Linda I did the same thing, I lived in apt with first husband and cleaned my diamond and wrapped it in a paper towel and forgot and threw it in the trash, it went out the dumpster and never got it back...
Joan, they houses at the jersey shore are so expensive this year, they say they have to make up for the damage from hurricane sandy....
Yep we have ducky even the other day they said we were getting 2 -4....
Went and saw granddaughter last night, she looks awesome, knows she has to be there, I adore her......took a pix of Andrew at Friendlys, he wouldn't look at the camera....brat...adore him also...
Whatcha doing this weekend, anything interesting....me have plans but it involves others and don't know if they want to do it....actually a conference today re brain injury that I want Michael to go to, he is signed up for it so am I but not sure he wants to go and tomorrow Red Lobster with oldest daughter...who knows....

I'm glad to hear Diane is close to the end of renovations. Seems like it's been going on forever. Love the end result pics so far!
What are you doing to the bathroom, Joan? I need to do my first floor bathroom over. We did the master bath a couple years ago and it is my favorite. Very bright, cobalt blue and white. It definitely wakes you up in the morning. lol
Never been to a Red Lobster, none around here. But I see the commercials and my mouth waters!
SUN IS OUT!! Let the freaking melting begin!
-
This whole house needs to be redone (or done in the case of the rooms that we never did anything with in the almost 20 yrs we've lived here - why own a house if you're not going to maintain it?) And now we have no money to do anything about it with - all money needs to go toward college. And now that I'm working - part time- making crap money - we'll never have any money to work with.
Linda - omg - I don't know what I would have done. 2 1/2...but then again, if he was smart enough to do something like that, I suppose he could get the appropriate punishment- like a timeout for a year... I don't suppose he picks up after himself now the way he expected you to pick up after yourself then? I would remind him constantly.
Hope you get to do what you want to do today, Sandy.
-
wow Ray from your phone, can't do anything like that on my phone nad I have smartphone...
thanks, but Michael doesn't want to go, they don't go out of the house much either....
where are the pix Diane???
-
Funny story about Red Lobster - when my daughter was about 12, she announced this is where she wanted to have her birthday dinner, along with family and a few friends. We sat down, received our menus, and the following statement: we no longer serve lobster at this location.
