It's 70 degrees just outside Buffalo N.Y., tomorrow 60's, then a cold front brings us to the 40's, possibility of a little snow in the overnight hours.  If you don't like the weather in W.N.Y., wait a few minutes - it'll change.

It can.  It's well-known that Oregon can entertain all 4 seasons in one day!

Wow!  I remember being in Portland as a pre-teen and how hot the summer was, over 100 degrees.  Until then, I had thought the more North you went, the cooler it should be.

Over 100 in Portland is really pretty rare.  that's more my area.  But it's crazy how the weather can shift here!

40 here today, normal for us is mid to low 40's, so that 70 day was a fluke, a nice one though.  All 4 seasons in one day - think you bested us on "wait a few minutes...".

I remember my Great uncle took us to the public pool that day and it was literally wall to wall people.  Nobody was used to that high of temps.

I am so busy that I haven't had time to weatherize my plants.  Yesterday's am temp was 38.  Hope things make it through the weekend until I can deal with them.

61 here right now.  Eph, I just found out the weather guesser we watch in the am used to be one on the NBC affiliate in Medford.

Chilly day here but sunny (not sure we got to 50 degrees)... Sadly, it does not look like a white Christmas this year......Prefer snow when I can stay home, bake cookies & be merry....lol

I don't know how long ago he was there, Kevin Charette.  Last week, even though we got 3/10" of rain the day he said there was absolutely no chance of precipitation, he never would admit we had rain.  He said it was drizzle.  Lots and lots of drizzle.

Supposed to rain today.  I have made a committment to head to Mom's for the day.  It would be a great day for cookie baking.  I've never had a white Christmas.

Don't recognize the name at all, but I only watch a couple local news programs.  He was probably on 1 of the channels I don't use for news/weather.

I'm sitting here @ work watching fog roll in from teh west.  You'd think I was on the Pacific, instead of inland a couple hours!

We had fog on Tuesday that settled in until after noon.  Yesterday was overcast and on my way home from Mom's around 4:45 it began to drizzle.  Real drizzle.  By 5:30, the rain started and we had several downpours throughout the night.  I will be interested to see how much rain we got.

Today I will stay home and do baking...I think.

Wow, last night we were awakened by howling gusty winds.  All I could think about is the damage that was being done to my yard and greenhouse.  It went on for a couple of hours until the rain finally blew in.  The rain wasn't heavy but it was raining sideways, so everything on my back porch is probably drenched.

I haven't seen you around here in quite awhile, Nancynow, but it looks like a bad day to travel the Grapevine.  Snow level is supposed to be down to 1,000' by 5 this afternoon.  Already having cars spinning out up there.

I got up this morning and the weather app on my phone said it was 44 and light snow, when I went outside to take the trash can to the road, it was only a light drizzle. I didn't see any snow, it must have been in the upper atmosphere.

It stayed cold and dreary all day, didn't get much above 50.

Earlier this week we had high temps in the upper 60's to low 70's, rain since Monday. Today more heavy rains, this morning temp 48, that is going to be the high for the day. this afternoon, temps will drop and the rain will turn to snow. Weather guessers are saying 3-6 inches before it stops tomorrow morning. Winter in the Carolina's, you can have all 4 seasons in one week.

We have been having nights below freezing and days in the 40s and maybe in the low 50s.  Burrr!  Today DH asked me to go put tree and plant clippings in the garbage for pick up tomorrow.  It is supposed to be in the low 60s so I will wait until it gets there.  I hate to be cold!

Sheila - Yes, I saw the heavy snow warning on FoxNews. Sounds like North Texas though we seem to often skip fall. 100 degrees and then BAM winter. Nice spell through the weekend, then cold Monday then back to nice. Yah DH is off on vacation next week and lots of outside projects including scraping/painting metal frame to back porch that is peeling terribly. We had surprise snow on Tuesday that was supposed to start farther east of us.

Meece - thought CA was always warm. LOL. DH grew up in Chatsworth so I know that's not nec. true.

It seems like the lows we are having this winter are more-so than usual, but I haven't charted it! Wink

Today high barely hit 40, at 11:00 pm it is already 31, temp expected to be in the mid teens in the morning, high temps not expected to get close to the normal 50's over the next few days. And more winter precip expected on Friday, not sure if it will be freezing rain or snow. I have a long 'bubble' coat from the 70's that is still in great shape and warm but it is too bulky to try and drive in, I bought a new polar edge coat from Academy Sports on Friday to replace the antique bubble coat. Glad I bought the new coat to keep me warm and comfortable when driving.

I have to laugh.  Our forecasters told us that we were up for a three day rain storm.  Our extimated total rainfall should be.......(drumroll)......

    17/100 or an inch!

This morning the weather guesser says we could get over 1/5 today alone!

Grapevine closed due to snow.  So much for the little storm blowing through.

Gorgeous, up & back.  I went off I5 @ Red Bluff for the rest of the drive; beautiful blooming nut orchards, baby lambs, birds everywhere.  Very nice trip!

Glad it was nice.  The nut tress have been blooming for a few weeks and now the petals look like snow on the ground around the trees.  The rancher who usually runs sheep on the land a block and a half from our house planted nut trees this year so their won't be any baby lambs there this year.
