Sounds good to me!

Also, it makes me depressed every time to think of all that wasted electricity - lol!

Blue,
I just wanted to say I read the link you posted, regarding the comment about Michelle O looking like an "ape". That website you went on is a blog of radical white supremists. That doesn't reflect what this forum is about. I really wanted to clear that up. We do have political differences here that are entirley different from what the politics of those right wing white supremists spew and I do hope you don't confuse our forum here with those radical blogs you linked. I found their words nauseating.
Peaceful regards to you.

She has been called names on other sites. Does Moochelle ring any bells?
-
Hagel finally confirmed as defense secretary, overcoming filibuster. Vote was 71-27. Phew. Eat that, Sens. idiot Cruz and Twitch McConnell.
There, I just called some names. :-)
-
Blue, don't even bother, really - IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE.
Sandy - sending all good wishes to your, MIL, family - hope the transition is a peaceful, peaceful experience when it happens. So honorable of you to respect her wishes - must be SO hard, but your courage is a tribute to her too. Thinking of you....
-
I think both sides are guilty of name calling, so the question is whether it is done with a racism intent (as in calling Michelle "ape" or not). Barb hasn't called anyone Moochelle. Others have, though.
Only someone so extreme as to think of themselves as the voice of reason would use the name moochelle (and sotero). Or let me rephrase: only someone extreme would say moochelle and sotero and think of themselves as the voice of reason. A better term for them would be voice of jingo (as in jingoism). Or Voice of Sophistry. (Thank you google.) And only such an untrue one would protest. But, ah, these are merely conjectures, for I have no MRI of the mind....

That's quite Chic!

I'm really shouldn't say a word other than to note what is already well known and hopefully just as well understood. We have a great President -- now elected twice and in part because the Republican party put up such mis-fits for this very special office. Also, with a major amt. of obstructionism if things are to get done, pressure has to be applied to the obstructionists. The way to do that is take it directly to the people. The Repugs best get with it --- the energy is dimming for them as we speak. They owe their constituents so much more.

Forgot to say how much I enjoyed your pictures, Blue.

Sigh......can't believe people are still in a rage about The First Lady's appearance at the Oscars.
Hmmmm, were people all up in arms when
Laura Bush was featured in a taped appearance at the Oscars in 2002?
In 1981, President Reagan taped an appearance for the Oscars?
or when Nancy Reagan appeared on the tv show, Diff'rent Strokes?
Good thing the internet wasn't around when this photo was released:
-
A few people are ranting. The usual suspects
That picture of Nancy and Mr. T is cute! At least the Reagans weren't sourpusses like the current crop. -
Watching "Makers: Women Who Make America" right now on PBS. Excellent, excellent show that ties a lot together .... And I am quite sure that there is sniffing and snarking about those "feminists" from the very people who have benefited from the work and sacrifice of our sisters (and brothers). We are getting better, but we aren't there yet.
And Wabbit, the hypocrisy knows no bounds. Let's not forget Nixon on Laugh-In, either. Hypocrisy and racism. It was OK for Laura Bush and Nancy Reagan, but not OK for Michelle Obama. They have no shame.

Wabbit --- we just know there is a good reason for short memories. Was reading yesterday about all the people Belinda mentioned. Ho-hum !!!!!!

Time for me to get pj's and slippers on but I'll leave you with something I just found. Thought it souded about right.
It's annoying to be disapproved of by people who know only half the story - especially when you're not sure which half they know.Robert Brault -
Thanks for the heads up on the PBS show, Jackie. Just put it on!
-
DH and I watched Argo tonight on PPV. A great movie, full of tension and excitement even though I knew the outcome. Thank you to our great Canadian friends for your willingness to take such huge risks. Michelle is a class act wherever she goes, whatever she does, with or without bangs!

All dressed up and nowhere to go!

TRIP TO ITALY
A young New York woman was so depressed that she decided to end her life
by throwing herself into the ocean, but just before she could throw herself
from the docks, a handsome young man stopped her.
"You have so much to live for," said the man. "I'm a sailor, and we are off
to Italy tomorrow. I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take care of you,
bring you food every day, and keep you happy."
With nothing to lose, combined with the fact that she had always wanted to
go to Italy, the woman accepted. That night the sailor brought her aboard
and hid her in a small but comfortable compartment in the hold.
From then on, every night he would bring her three sandwiches, a bottle of
red wine, and make love to her until dawn. Three weeks later she was
discovered by the captain during a routine inspection.
"What are you doing here?" asked the captain.
"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she replied. "He brings me
food and I get a free trip to Italy ."
"I see," the captain says.
Her conscience got the best of her and she added, "Plus, he's screwing me."
"He certainly is," replied the captain. "This is the Staten Island Ferry .
