Roll up the rim, Nihahi - makes me miss Canada!

Hair seems like it's about to go - the buzz cut is scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Have to say I felt great the last couple of days. Trying a couple of new things this round. MO has prescribed daily Prilosec for heart burn and going back to osteopath physician for more acupuncture tomorrow to try to head the nausea off at the pass earlier in the cycle.

More later after I read and digest more posts.

Oh, Dakota, I agree, you look adorable in your short wig.  Hope pest exterminator gets back to you soon; sorry she cancelled on you.  So sorry with question about working in the school.  I guess because he is IN the school you would prefer not to go back there.  Just thought it might help with school schedules.  Hope you have other support nearby but sounds like you must since you're going for big girl sleepover.  WOOHOO!  You getting the storm?  We had sleet, sleet, rain yesterday, thunderstorms this morning but not severe.  Lovely afternoon.

I see "Tim Hortons" as sponsor on hockey games. Know I know what they sell.  OK, what is a "roll up the rim" cup?  Only coffeeplaces much here are Starbucks.  Only know of 1 Duncan Donuts.  I want a milk frother but don't know why.  Only have plain old coffeemaker and DH not big coffee drinker.  Guess I need to get more squirt whipped cream.

Caitlin, in your pocket for #2.  What # is Carla on?

Get to go with DH to his eye doctor appt tomorrow.  Then shopping at Lowes.  Need new paint for den - white of some variation but not the stark white the remodeler painted it 10 years ago.  Would love to redo BRs as Edi, but don't think in budget.  Might could piecemeal but don't think DH would handle torn up BR forever. This is a transition year for us to see what we can afford.  DH has put in for early retirement which might be good as fearful his hours will be cut in the fall to part-time with Obamacare.

Websister - Hope rads went smoothly for 1st day.

Nihahi - Alien boob behaving today?

Traii - My DD loved penguins so much she declared she was going to be a scientist in Antarctica.  We went to San Antonio to Sea World to see them.  Then for several years the Ft. Worth zoo had a penguin exhibit.  We bought a yearly pass and would go after school even for just a little bit.  Think they still have 1-2 for special programs.  We had every penguin program that came on saved on tape.

As usual I know I missed lots of members.  Hope all are having a good SE free day.  One year anniversary of my surgery.

Dakota - wig looks great - very chic!

Carlads - lucky you doing last chemo - hope you celebrate afterwards.

Caitlin - good luck with your chemo today.

Keemo - what symptoms did you get during your taxol reaction?

Everyone else - hard to keep up with all of your busy-ness.

I am beginning to feel a big better - although the legs feel like lead and I got some pins and needles last night! DH and I are going away for a few days next week to Bowen Island - just to relax, read, watch movies and enjoy the ocean view. It will be my first time away from home since my diagnosis in August 2012. I am looking forward to the break.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

Then when he gets going the whole top floor gets ripped apart lol. He never shuts up about what he is going to do, typical man, we just do it.x

Websister, how did Rads go. Watched a youtube interview with Rads Doc very interesting and explained a lot. x

Hi Adagio - Regarding my Taxol symptoms, I was schduled for 12 weekly doses following AC. After the 6th or 7th, I started getting a rash and my skin was leathery at the infusion site, which became my hand becuase my veins were shot. I was prescribed Pregnasone which I REALLY hated but took. I ended up taking it for almost 4 weeks. I had to skip a week of treatment because of the rash. During that time, my onc said that she was going to research whether or not she could still give me the Taxol. So, I showed up for round 9 and she said she would not give me any more Taxol but that the rash was caused by the cremafore. Taxol doesn't dilute with water. The rash was bad - I made a super hero name for myself "RASH GIRL". So, she said that she thought I could get one megadose of Taxotere and be done. Only problem with that was she wasn't 100% positive I wouldn't get a reaction at time of infusion. (While I now this sounds scary, we were all laughing hysterically at the next part). She said, let's just go for it. If you have a reaction, we can give you epoi and you'll be fine. So, we went for it, I got the mega dose and all was well. The rash took a bit of time to go away but it did, as did my chipmunk cheeks from the Pregnasone. My family forgave me for my horrific roid rage and life went back to normal fairly quickly. My long term side effects from the Taxol are neuropothy, but I deal and it hasn't impacted my life in any way. Hope that helps. (I took pictures of myself as Rash Girl so if you ned a laugh, just let me know)

Wow, so many posts after quiet day yesterday. Did get my Chinese food today, Traii. Your make-it-yourself deal sounds really lovely! I had sweet and sour pork with vegetables. No dumplings. No fried rice or noodles, which they left off my plate as per my request. Maybe that was because I had a pina colada fruit smoothie just before lunch. Then had to wait for car to be finished. They had Timmies coffee and Peak Freen cookies in the waiting area. Had a feast there too, but luckily car was finished before I polished the plate. No more food for me today.

Edi, had to laugh about the cockroach story, and have one of my own. I once lived in a bachelor flat adjoining the filthy backyard of a small hotel. Those roaches were so big I was scared of them, and they grossed me out. I would open the cutlery drawer in my little kitchen, and there the roach would be, sitting on a knife, and scurrying away before I could do anything. They were also in the bathroom. Had an interesting situation one night when a good friend and her new boyfriend came visiting. She went to the loo, the next moment there was a bloodcurdling scream, and she came stumbling out hysterical with her panties around her ankles. Turned out just as she was comfortably seated, she spotted a roach on my nightgown which was hanging close to her. . . the relationship did not survive. Lol. I moved out of that place after six months, could not stand it any longer.   Glad DH is so healthy, and you don't have worries there. White coat syndrome - my DH has it big time when he's on the receiving end of the needle. I have zero sympathy; had lost count of how many times I had been poked since Dec. 2011.

Websister, I trust everything went well with the first rads. A little over three weeks, and you will be DONE.

Traii, what a wonderful gesture! You are all going to enjoy it so much. You certainly deserve something nice like this, sister Sunshine!

Nihahi, sorry to hear the alien boob is acting up. You are going to be sooooooo glad to be rid of that thing, and have a soft, natural boobie again which does not need frozen peas all the time.

Thanks for saving me a cookie, it was great with the Tim Horton's coffee on the way home, I didn't win with the 'roll up the rim' this time, all I got was 'please try again'.

luvmy - every spring Tim Horton's has a contest - all cups have a rim, buyers roll up the rim of the cup to see if they won a prize, could be a donut but could be something really nice like a car.

caitlin - hope all went well and continues to go well this time, 2 down !!!

carlads - hope you are having a good evening - the cookie was delicious

Dakota - wow!!!! you look great/wig looks great - have a great time with your friends

    Adagio - have a wonderful, well-deserved vacation

liefie - chinese food sounds good, so did the cookies and coffee - hope you did eat later also

Edi - GD sounds so cute! glad DH tests were good and able to continue with the driving

Nihahi - hope alien stays behaving itself for the weekend

    Benny - hugs

Bearcub - hope weather is behaving there

Bev - hope you are feeling OK post final chemo

Re: rads - I was taken into an office to meet with an educator first. He was young and had a binder that had all my information in it. What nobody told me was that not only were the CT scan pictures in there that they used for mapping but there were also pictures of me lying on the table, with bare chest, arms over head, hands holding onto handles above head. My face was scribbled over with black permanent ink but it was a little unnerving to see the pictures and know that other eyes besides the techs who took them had been upon them. Hope they are destroyed soon! The educator redeemed himself by asking if the picture on my iPad was of my daughter - it was a pic of my 6 year old GD. He did a double take of my birthdate and then said he would never have known. You could have done anything to me after that statement and I would still have been smiling :)

    Take care everyone.

Websister, what an unsettling experience to suddenly see yourself like that on a photograph! Almost like the other day when the PS took photos of me naked from the waist up. She does not photograph the face, but it was still a weird experience. Also remember coming in for rads one day, and there's a male tech doing the honors. It is a medical setting, he was very professional, and maybe I'm just very old-fashioned, but it just did not feel. . . right. Still remember how we casually discussed wedding cakes while I'm lying there half naked - I had the urge to start giggling uncontrollably, but kept it together somehow.

Carla and Caitllin, hang in there. You are doing great!

Traii,  I'm always struck by how pretty your picture is, and how absolutely positive you always seem when I feel stuck in a nightmare too horrible for me to have ever envisioned.  HELP ME!! lol  jk, well, sorta jk.... Luvmy, so sorry , I overlooked your 1 year anniversary. Congrats. 1 year already, bet it has flown by !

Dakota, enjoy your weekend away, you sooooooo deserve it girl and bet you will look younger and more gorgeous then your fellow college girls .... enjoy your night xx

Websister, nothing worse then seeing pics of your self in your folder, you poor thing. That happened to me when I was having rads a long time ago, I was very embaressed, its bad enough I had to see my body in the mirror, lol but seeing them in my file, was a little degrading. Like liefie said, I had to stand there whilst that Plastic Surgeon took photos of my boobies, prodding at them, lifting them up, photos of the lumpectomy scar and all......this was while I was listening to her telling me that I had 'quite large boobs' and that  I needed to 'loose some tummy fat' if I wanted the tram flap or diep or whatever you call it.....oh did I just want to knock her out with my 'large boobs'!!!

Lifie, glad you got to eat your chinese.....and down those coffees and cookies while waiting for DH's car to get ready. You make me laugh, hope you had something for dinner !

Oh 46andsingle, I try to be positive, I do have my down days , but we have to think positive ..... this is a nightmare and we all didn't ask for it. We are all here to help, pm me if you need a chat hun.

Re pre-chemo surgery. Well I had a 16mm lump. They would normally just do a lumpectomy and rads on it with a little chemo due to the grade 3 status. However due to me already having rads ( reason why I'm here today due to rads triggering BC) It is recommended for me to have chemo, MX and tamoxifen after.

As my head and heart were not ready to part with a boob ( as we all know, this all just happens too quick from tests,DX, talking of chemo and MX ) I was told that a lumpectomy was good to do now to get rid of the cancer and after chemo we can come back to arrange a MX. (again only due to the recurrance factor due to radiation I had in the past)            Since then, as much as we are all not ready to part with a breast or both my head and heart are in the right place to do so....(after all, it is the right thing to do ) now I have decided to have both gone. Just not sure if I'm going to do one at a time or both , opting for both to get it over and done with I guess so to speak.

    Ladies, enjoy your Friday.....

Morning Edi, if I'm right its about 6:30am...I'm hearing you coming down the stairs to make a cuppa tea!!

@traii, I am surprised about your getting chemo before your MX with a tumor of 16mm. Mine was a little larger than that. I had a mastectomy, mainly because I wanted to avoid rads (I have kind of a phobia about RT) and I had no chemo until after my surgery. Even then it was only advised because my Oncotype score was borderline high-range. If the score had been lower, chemo might not have been indicated for me and I would have started straight in after my surgery with hormone meds.

I thought generally the reason for chemo before surgery was to shrink a large tumor enough to make lumpectomy possible...is the difference because of your prior radiation, or is that just something where the typical course of treatment differs between the US and Australia?

Morning everyone  ( here at least )

Traii, you know cyber Mum too well, 6.30 on the dot came down and kettle on. Tidied around then read all these posts.
You are amazing sweetheart, love the way you have your head in the right place re the MX.
I too have DD boobs and always cringe when they lift them up as if they are bags of spuds lol.
If I was forty years younger I could have made a fortune as topless model ( If it wasn't for the face )
When you have recon can you have same size or chose different cup size ?
Friday yay, last day this week of wrinkly butt and mate. They have been so lovely. Yesterday avo I dozed off in my recliner, as I woke he was walking on tip toe to the other loo as not to wake me !!
Electrics and tiling today I think. Rest should be in by middle of next week DH will be  calmer then. As the bath was put in yesterday and is sooo snug can't be removed then put back he is twittering on about how is the tiler gonna finish that wall over the bath. Edi says probably by standing in our new bath with his huge boots on and walking up and down. Thought DH was gonna cry lol.
For heavens sake they have been in business for years, sure they know what they are doing.
How's DS and kindy, half term here so GD's costing their Mummy's a fortune in holiday club. I usually help out but really haven't the energy Frown
Right now I guess 7.00 pm with you enjoy your evening xxxx

Keemo, so glad you survived the rash girl episode xxx

Websister, I know when we have kids our bodies are no longer our own but photos gosh.
Lovely that he thought GD was your little one I too would have forgiven him ANYTHING x

Liefie, You and the cockroaches !!! Need those diapers here. That story so funny but really horrendous too. I think they are bigger where you are so I would have had hysterics too.
Once after we had been " bombed " DH was taking a wall back and as he pulled of architrave they were in between each brick dead or dying. Edi went out of the house like a flamin rocket.
my neighbour was eating grapes in bed ??? went to pick up one she thought rolled to end of bed and guess what, it had legs, she ran into street in her baby doll nightie lol.
Sweet and sour pork, my mouth is watering. Might indulge at weekend.
Nice YOU could have a treat while sorting DH car. x

Nihahi, Death to the alien, ice the bugger into a stupor and you just have a pj and pamper yourself weekend. x

    Dakota, you have fun x

46 and single, keep that chin up, you are getting there x

    Curveball, (( HUG )) x

DH wil be crashing around in a minute, day of haunting the plumbers ahead lol

Scottie, need to hear what you have been up to this week x

    Everyone else luvsya xx

Hi Curveball, hope you're doing well :) Yes I've seen from these boards, that chemo first was normally done to shrink the tumor . I guess the BS and onc agreed that MX was ok to do so after chemo. I did stress that just because my heart and head weren't in the right place at time of DX I was ready to do it if that means it was better to do before the chemo, they suggested they would do lumpectomy and get that damn C out of me......do chemo and within the first half of 2013 to do the MX or BMX so long as the right boobie was done first!

Edi, cyber mummy, its now 7pm here and I'm finally sitting my butt down after dinner watching Home And Away....after that I'll give DS a bath and hopefully he will have a early night while DH is out with his mates hunting.... Our school/kindy terms are different, the kids just started back at school some late Jan some first week Feb. 1st term ends here the week before Easter which is early this year ! (DH is back on call that week....not fussed considering I miss out on going to the dreaded MILs house...lol I know I'm a B&$#@ but you know what....I'm sick of being nice to her. My mum taught me always to be nice to people and to treat people with respect, she still tells me now...lol but I tell her that I'm over respect with the MIL, I would have gone there without DH however under the circumstances, I'm NOT.....I normally give into people when it comes to forgiving...yes I forgive her for what she has done to my family however I will never forgert...I'm civil with her and thats it...!!

What's planned for your Friday ? Shopping or rest ? GD's coming for a visit this weekend ?

HI traii, excuse bold type, can't get it off !!
Your MIL needs her head feeling, how can she be anything but lovely to you ?
I hate DIL but most of the time try to be pleasant to her for my DS sake. If she was like you it would be like having another daughter.
I was brought up same as you, respect etc. Enough is enough with some people tho and like you just civil with those who do me or mine wrong.
If I had given birth to DIL, would have eaten her while her bones were still soft lol.
DH just gone to D.I.Y store need more of the brushed silver tiles, please, please, don't let them have run out !! Tiler changed the pattern for the better but need two more.
My youngest daughters little one rang me from her Mum's mobile this morning on her way to other nan's house.
So funny like little old lady, she may go swimming with her uncle later, she will love that.
Having another retail fix this avo Laughing " need " more bits and bobs. That is my excuse lol.
DH just rang, they had the tiles. phew.
He is on a late tonight so lovely time watching all the things he hates on TV.
Went on f/b before, so sad, a lovely lad who grew up with my kids was found dead in bed yesterday. Everyone gutted, his Dad passed away last year and there was only him and his lovely Mum left. They think it may be that sudden adult death syndrome as he was a lovely lad ie no drugs, drink etc.
His Mum will be beyond grief.

Lol Edi, you are a darling, I wish you were my MIL it would be like having another mother.:)

Re Bold, in the box where you type above that you must of knocked the B so I'll knock the I now, I am only civil to the MIL only because she is my husbands mum at the end of the day, though even through the fires, we had friends and work collegues and family calling my entire family to see if we were doing ok, DH's parents and siblings we got nothing...no love...lol...( my face is not one to look worried. So long as my DH knows (and he does) that my family are totally different to his then I'm fine with that !! )

LOL your DIL sounds like a B$#$( just like my MIL...you poor thing, but yes, how your DS puts up with her is beyond me.....good on him I say, like you said you've raised your children respect as you have been brought up.

Thank goodness store had 2 more tiles.......colour sounds nice :)

Oh how sad for that man that grew up with your kids. So young. The poor mum that's left behind still grieving no doubt her husband and now her own son.....I never knew there was sudden adult death syndrome.....my gosh how damn sad!

Well enjoy your retail therapy, bits and bobs are good.... lol .... and enjoy watching your TV shows while DH is working hard for the money...lol....

Ladies at Kindy said to mum and I today ' did you girls go shopping today again' and I replied ' yes' one of them said ' you'll run out of money if you keep going 2 days a week for 3 hours ' I said, ' no thats why hubby does Over time, whats his is mine and whats mine is mine' as the saying goes....lol

I think though next week, well mum will take DS to kindy on Weds as I have a onc appt before chemo and then on Friday I think I may come back home ( its a 20 min drive to his kindy as the ones in my area only went for 2 hours a week, whereas the one I got DS in is 6 hours a week over two days!!! more interaction with kids and listening skills with other adults is required...lol!!!!! ) so may just make my way back home to wash the floor in peace instead of taking him to mums house.....lol.

    Hi ladies !!!

So my big night out is tonight can't wait gonna pretend I am in college again and haven't live all this crao yet!!!

I had breast reduction 8 years ago and the PS said to me "ur awfully saggy" well jerk I am a DDD and I have has two kids. Where are they supposed to go????

Any way he brougt me down to a C. which I was grateful.

Traii - I had BMX the first week was a little tough second week better. I was out a total of one month over not bad at all. Ur DS is alot smaller so it will be harder but for y physically it's not too bad.

As far as MIL - bad girl. Why can't everyone be happy. My nephew passed away (20) in a car accident this past June and one if his tweets two days before he died was ur here ur alive be happy. I try to think of him and that as often as I can.

Whoo hoo Dakota's going out tonight with her sexy wig looking all hot , got your outfit ready ?

OF course you can act like you were in college again...this is your night you enjoy it and 'let your hair down' so to speak...lol just don't go doing any party tricks like our dear Edi now...lol. (sorry Edi, still picturing that in my head) !

So 4 weeks you say for BMX for you.....how long were you in hospital for ? Did you have implants ?

I'm going the implants but no TE's as I will have 'excess' skin there because I don't want DD's if I have a choice, the only thing that peed me off was the PS didn't mention size of the implant, when I asked her she said well to you these look small but to me they are like F's ( she had I think a trainer bra on 'cos she had no boobies, lucky an A cup)..... lol sounds like you PS is a jerk too.....lol saggy boobies hey....well hello.....after kids do you really want them to stand up on there own...lol crazy PS's everywhere..!

Enjoy your Friday hun, I'm off to bed now, its 1am...honestly I don't know why I have a 2nd and 3rd wind of sleepiness then I'm up again, sleeepiness then up.....I think I should just go and count balls, I mean sheep......good night all and good morning to you girls waking up xxxx
