Friday check in 3 points
weight: 222# = 0 points
water = 3 points
exercize = 4 points
extra credit (cholesterol numbers are better) = 1 point
Total = 11 points
So not fair. Packed my own lunch most days this week, mostly veggies and fruit. Was careful about what I ate all week. and I GAINED weight! It's not fair!!!!
-
Oh, Patoo! What an absolutely wonderful reason for a disclaimer! Hope you had a great time.
I am posting at 169.0 today but won't write it up top unless I could keep it off, which I doubt. I think this crud is moving into bronchitis. Of course it is Friday, but I don't feel that the symptoms are bad enough to head to the doctor. It's just from experience that I feel that's where it is going. Grrrrrrrrrrr
Heading off to have my eyes checked. Have to go in for my Driver's License test next month and I know I'll never pass the vision test as is.
-
Roadrunner here. Yes, absolutely fabulous, blessed, trip.
Weight - 185.2; down (walking and water) =2 pts
Exercise = 10 pts (we did sit on tour bus at times)
Water - 7 pts
Friday check in - 3 pts
Total = 22 pts
-
Hi Patoo! you have accomplished something that I have always wanted to do...tour Jerusalem
what a wonderful thing! I can't even imagine the emotions I would have to see the place where Jesus was crucified.
Would love to see some pics sometime.
Forgot to check in Friday
Oh well still no weight loss I keep on keeping on
-
So ladies, I finally rejoined the gym, only to get sick almost immediately, and then have super-doooper work schedule all this past week to keep me too booked up to do anything. I'm finally well enough to feel like doing something, and the killer work week is over so maybe I can get back to something other than stress-eating. Meece, my weight is now something like 220, so that is what I would like to start at, unfortunately. I've never weighed so much in all my life. i hate menopause, and gut problems, and stress and depression and all those lovely things that just pack on the weight. I'm taking a deep breath, and trying to start over. Again. Thanks to all of you for still being here, and for still working on it.
Hope to see you all next Friday. I'll have to put an alarm on my phone or something to remind me to check in!
Elaine

The points total for the week of Feb 1 through Feb 7th is (drum roll please)
54 points!
Can we get to 60 points on the Feb 15th check in?
-
hey NM, are you up to your wazoo in snow?
60 collective points is a good goal. I think we can do it.
hi Elaine! Yes, we are still here and still working on it. See you on Friday.
-
Yup, got about 2 1/2 feet at my place. Got a 6 foot pile of snow at the end of the driveway. Gotta love snowstorms!
-
mimi, yes, very emotional. "I Can Only Imagine...".
NM, not going to complain about my 6-8 inches although my hip is not very happy!
I will do my best to help get to the combined 60 pts.
-
Patoo--your 6-8 inches was probably a lot heavier than my snow, so you can complain all you want!
OK, I need accountability, so I am announcing that my goal for today is to drink 1 liter of water and not eat out today. I've packed a lunch and have ribs to grill when I get home. Now let's see if I can stick to that!
-
I should take your lead, NM. I am heading to the dr in awhile. So tired of this crud. Weight still down under 170, so maybe I can work on keeping it there. Need to drink more water.
-
Accountability report: I got the liter of water in yesterday. Didn't eat out. didn't grill the ribs since I got out of work so late, had a peanut butter sandwhich instead. But my weight is 220# today!
Goal for today: 1 liter of water, veggies with lunch, grill those ribs before go bad!
-
mmmm ribs! How were they, NM?
I bring my lunch to work every day, to save money and control portions & ingredients.
I make a big batch of something yummy for Sunday dinner and take leftovers for lunch.
Meatloaf this week, with quinoa, kale & tomatoes. Tangerine and almonds for snacks.
Hope everyone is doing OK. I'm holding steady. Meece, are you feeling less cruddy?
-
Dang, Badger, now I'm hungry! Hope to see you all Friday.
-
Well, I still haven't gotten home early enough in the evening to grill the ribs. Maybe tonight!
Not getting veggies in at lunch, either. But that's becuase I'm not getting lunch! Been 3 days in a row of crises and emergencies, I'm so hoping I don't have any more this week. Lesson learned: make a plan for the days with a drive thru fast food place/eating the car between visits that is healthy. Or at least healthier. Yes, I should pack a lunch more often. Need to work on that, too.
On the plus side, I am getting a liter of water in every day, even if it means drinking it all after I get home from work and getting up once or twice to pee during the night! And my weight today wa 219#! Back under the 220 mark!
Don't mind me, I need baby steps.
Goal for today: veggie at lunch, 1 liter water, getting out of work on time. OK, so I'm actually shooting for 2 out of 3. . .
-
Baby steps are good and if that's what it takes to motivate us, I say "Do it!"
My voice is 100% gone. I have a faint whisper, which takes a lot of energy to get out. DH is probably happy that his Chatty Cathy isn't so chatty right now. It must take him back to college days when he roomed with another guy. I'm sure there wasn't a lot of chit-chat then. Guys don't seem to realize how important talking and converstation is!
Dr. thought the meds should help and I am not supposed to go back until the 4th! How do I call to tell her I am not better? I guess I get a middle man! Waaaaaa
-
-
love it! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. ♥
Meece, if your doc's on an electronic health records system, you can send her a message?
RE: veggies, I'm big on sneaking veggies into things. For example, the meatloaf has zucchini, spinach, mushrooms and leeks in it. Oats instead of bread crumbs because I'm avoiding wheat. And locally-produced, grass-fed organic beef. One of the advantages of living in farm country.
I make a veggie-laden lasagna with GF pasta mmmmmmm. Local cheeses and Italian sausage distracts DH from all the veggies. Makes for great leftovers, and it freezes well.
Dang, now I made myself hungry! See you Friday (tomorrow).
-
That sounds yummy.
No, my dr is old school. I asked about emailing her something a few months back and she said she doesn't do email.
-
LOL, Meece - I'm always amazed at the people who still don't do email, much less texting or FB, etc.
NM - I'm delighted you are under 220! I'm just trying to keep from munching my head off! I try to cook and eat healthy; nothing helps right now. Still haven't made it back to the gym, but walked the dogs for a long walk yesterday. As you say, baby steps, but at least I'm walking!
-
RoadRunner checking in:
Friday Check in = 3 points
Weight 220# = 0 points
Water = 7 points
Exercised = 2 points
Extra Credit--met my water intake goal for the week! 1 point
Total = 13 points
I swear it's a conspiracy. Every Friday I get a higher weight than I've been getting during the week. It's just not fair!
-
Missed last week and I'm sick with a terrible cold this week. Really sore throat, swollen glands, headache, stuffy, sneezy. I haven't felt this lousy since surgery.
But, I'm here...
Friday ~ 3 pts
Wt (175.6) dn ~2 pts (probably only because it hurts too much to swallow!)
Water ~ 7
Exercise ~ 3
Extra credit ~ 1 Went to see my lipidologist. My numbers are better, but I'm collecting some plaque in my arteries and possibly pre diabetic. I'm NOT starting meds for the rest of my life though. So, I told them no to statins and metformin and I'm commited to losing some weight and doubling my niacin. We'll see if anything changes in 3 months
Total 16 pts
-
Hey all I actually lost a lb this week I'm down to 158.6 woo hoo!! was for sure I wouldn't have since I haven't trully been dieting to say exactly. But I've just not been eating because I'm not hungry. As I said I exercise 5 out of 7 days at work because I walk all night long working . Hope everyone has a great Friday.
-
Roadrunner here - Friday 3 pts, Weight up .2 (185.4)- 0 pts; Water - 6 pts; Exercise - 7 pts.
Total 16 pts. Goal is to get over 20 pts each week so need to get the exercise back on track.
NativeMainer, I'm with you. Weight each day is lower and then Friday the scale decides to stop fooling me!
-
Hi birdies, RR checking in.
Friday check-in = 3 points
Weight 172.0 - up from last week = 0 points
Exercise = 9 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point, made choc chip cookies for DH last night and did not have one! However, at work today, while I resisted the donuts someone brought in the morning, there were still a few left this afternoon and I had one. Tasted good but it is sitting in my gut like a rock. So not worth it. Next time I will stick with my tangerine.
Total = 20
---------------------
And congrats, we made our goal! 13 + 16 + 16 + 20 = 65 points reported so far.
NM you're down from last week's weight, IMO you earned yourself 2 more points.
-
Still Friday here. I stepped on the scale this morning and after two Valentine's meals I am at 172.2 today. What the... I was at 168 all week!
edited to add...check in and down in weight!
-
Roadrunner checking in, finally!
It's still Friday to me, so 3 pts for Friday check in!
Down .5 lb, so 2 pts
5 pts for water - maybe 6 but drank soda one day instead, bad me.
3 pts for exercise - been taking the opportunity to walk further, take the stairs, etc, although my breathing still not back to normal
No extra points
13 pts total - baby steps!
-
The points total for the week of Feb 8 through Feb 15th is (drum roll please)
90 points! HOORAY FOR US!
(I gave Mimi 16 points)
Can we get to 100 points on the Feb 22nd check in?
-
Good job birdies! NM I believe we could get to 100 points next week. With seven of us actively posting, that's an average of 14 points each.
Anyone reading but not posting is welcome to join us. The more the merrier! You don't have to divulge your weight if you don't want to. :-)
