Survivor photo shoot

I was invited, by a local photographer, to do a photoshoot for just a few survivors - including hair and makeup, mimosas and snacks - in a beautiful old inn. It was an awesome morning.

(3 of us are bc survivors, one bone and one lung cancer)

The photographer arranged the whole thing with volunteer professional hair and make up people because she wanted to make us feel beautiful. Amazing.

The videographer put this video together in 24 hours and perfectly captures the day.

I am looking forward to my individual photos but the day was more about sistahs in hope - than glossy glam shots!

You all look fab and it looks like it was a really good day besides. It makes sense to me to get photographed. It is such an adjustment in self-perception, that somehow I can see it being helpful to be "seen" by others and see yourself through someone else's eyes. I always hated being photographed, but after cancer I want to have pictures of myself.

Mormine, I agree with you about photos. I'm the photographer of the family and I don't have many photos of myself. Always was having a bad hair day, or wanted to shed ten pounds...how silly! Now I'm taking photos of myself every chance I get - hair or no hair, it doesn't really matter.
