    Congratulations Anne!

Does this board look weird to anyone else? For example, Lindasa's signature line is an active link....to what I don't know. :) Edited to add: It's linked to googleimages.

Anne - Congratulations.  I could always tell by your tiny pic that you were a strong woman.

Got an ultrasound of this Halloween sized candy bar in my chest, but no results yet.  Guess I'll have to wait all weekend.  PA doesn't think it is cancer, but just having that US brought back bad memories. Frown  Can something grow to 3x2x1.5 (cm) without them seeing it at the end of August (when they put my implants in)??

Good work Anne.  That is quite an accomplishment.

Re deer...as apple farmers we get a lot of deer in our orchard.  It really is a beautiful sight to see them in a herd of 8 or 9 as the sun is coming up.  However, they do a great deal of damage to the buds in spring.  And it is true.  We do hang dial soap from the trees to keep them away.

Good morning all.  I hope anyone who was/is in pain or has worries was able to have a restful night.

Sun shining here, but very cold and snow expected tonight.

I'm not a football fan, so I really don't have an opinion about the game tomorrow night.  Will enjoy the halftime show and commercials, though.

    Chuckle for the morning:

Belinda~That's exactly what we do. We will DVR the game to about halfway then start watching at the beginning. Like you, we only watch the halftime entertainment and the ads.

I saw a preview of a new SuperBowl ad on GMA earlier this week.

A dad walks past his little girls room with a football in his hand and she says, "Daddy will you play dress up princess with me?" He says, " But, my friends. "

Daughter pulls out a bag and says, " I have Doritos."

The next scene, dads friends are standing in the doorway watching Dad twirl around the room in a princess dress, and tiara, with makeup smudged all over his face. It's priceless.

We're more into fishing, camping, and rodeo.

    Have a great weekend everyone

I used to love the SuperBowl, but I have to admit that my enthusiasm for football in general has nearly disappeared in light of the evidence of brain trauma that so many of the players experience.  My DH thinks that it might improve if the players didn't have the helmets, which he thinks encourages them to bang heads but doesn't offer much actual protection.  Maybe, but still, i don't think I can watch anymore.

I'm another who only likes the commercials.  I might have liked sports of many kinds more but for the years of watching on old t.v.'s.   Black and white and I couldn't keep up with who was doing what to whom or where they were doing it.  In later years I seemed to have little time and now that I'm the age I am.....I'd need to watch it on a theater screen.....my eyes just don't keep up.

Never thought about it like you Alexandria, but reflecting on it, that is pretty valid.  I guess jocks will always be jocks, but I'd be thinking about it a lot if that is what I wanted to be, do and have in my life.

I will admit ( though I skipped it after I left Detroit for good ) that I loved going to hockey games.  I could keep up with what was going on if I was there.  This will tell you how long ago.....tickets were $5.00 a seat.  A couple of the big names then were Gordie Howe and Bobby Orr was coming along nicely.  I'm really telling on myself here.

Cold today, but warming to 40's they say.  Sigh !!!!! Up and down.

Back is slowly getting back to normal.  Sure thankful for that.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

I have never watched a game and didn't know the superbowl was coming until I read about it on this thread.

The brain trauma information is very concerning.

Kam, listen to your doctor: "probably NOT cancer." I know, easier said that done. (((HUGS)))

Glad your pain is getting better Jackie! Hoping that everybody else experiencing pain gets relief ASAP!

I come from a football obsessed family. Part of my teenage rebellion was denouncing the sport as stupid. I think I got it right, albeit for the wrong reasons.

    And on another (happy) note:

    Source: ABC

An early spring is on the way, according to groundhog "Punxsutawney Phil."

When the Pennsylvania groundhog emerged from his dwelling at Gobbler's Knob Saturday morning, he did not see his shadow.

"And so ye faithful, there is no shadow to see, an early Spring for you and me," proclaimed Bob Roberts, one of Phil's handlers

Yes, Kam. Listen to your doctor-"Probably not cancer". Easier said than done, I know. I can tell you that similar happened to my SIL following implants, and hers turned out to be some sort of fibrous scar tissue. Scary, though.

I could care less about the SuperBowl, but we are going to a party tomorrow. Maybe I'll bring a book. Tongue Out I'm sure I would have cared a little if the Seattle Seahawks had made it to the SuperBowl.

It's a family joke that our daughter was almost named Punxatawney Phil. Her birthday is tomorrow. She missed being born on Groundhog Day by just a few hours.

My dad calls them "capre" which means goats in my dialect as they charge at each other like goats.  I just watch the Super Bowl for the half time show.  My brothers are football junkies!

Responsible gun owners need to find someone else to represent them. I just read today that LaPierre got a deferment from serving in Vietnam-he had a "nervous disorder". Not sure if that's true, but if it is, should he even have a gun?

    Fascinating and revealing article......

"The NRA vs. America:  How the country’s biggest gun-rights group thwarts regulation and helps put military-grade weapons in the hands of killers"

    From the article:

".......... Today's NRA stands astride some of the ugliest currents of our politics, combining the "astroturf" activism of the Tea Party, the unlimited and undisclosed "dark money" of groups like Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS, and the sham legislating conducted on behalf of the industry through groups like the American Legislative Exchange Council. "This is not your father's NRA," says Josh Sugarmann, executive director of the Violence Policy Center, a top gun-industry watchdog. Feldman is more succinct, calling his former employer a "cynical, mercenary political cult............"

Oh, mary, I don't care if it's true, let's just keep asking the question - wouldn't that be Karma to end all Karma!

Kam - I'm voting for scar tissue, but nothing, NOTHING, takes away the damn fear of waiting to find out. I don't care who says "don't worry" - which of course is exactly what I'm gonna say, "DON'T WORRY" - it's not possible not to worry.  Just not possible, unless drunk, or asleep - even then I'd expet nightmares.  Yucky waiting - but I"m still voting for scar tissue.

ANNE:  Yikes, washboard abs?  You gonna change your avatar?  Seriously wonderful work, congratulations.  Are you now gonna teach others to be teachers - or teach Pilates, or both...

OK - here's your western MA weather report.  Below 0 now and getting colder.  A bit of snow, and I wanna give Pauxatawney Phil a hug.  Speaking of wonderful movies, I imagine everyone has seen GroundHog's Day.  Finding it interesting, I really used to just LOVE snow, bought snow shoes when I moved here, but now I like it MUCH more watching it from inside where it's warm.

Is there a football game tomorrow?  Not for me if the Patriot's arent playing. Happy eating to all who are watchingEmbarassed

Belinda....that link is very worthwhile reading.  I have thought for a long time that the NRA'ers ( top ones ) were protesting rather loudly and in some non-sensible ways.  Now their is quite a perspective on it, and it makes a lot more sense.  Money tends to remove logic and sanity at some times.
