Hello,

Could anybody make me clear about the difference between the different stages and grades of breat cancer please?

I have ER- PR- HER2+ grade 3 recurrence breast cancer. I am unaware of the stages and I have googled for it too. It made me confused more now.

It would be a great help if anybody explain me please.

Thanks

Prasanna13 - there are a number of websites that explain the difference stages and grades;whathealth.com I think is pretty good at explaining what they mean. I am Stage 2 because I had a micromet in the SN. Once the cancer leaves the breast tissue you are upgraded. Conversely my sister in law is Stage 0; the tumor was non-invasive; didnt invade the breast tissue. The grades are categorized by how the tumor resembles normal cells...my tumor is Grade 1. If I were you I would talk to my BS/ONC. My BS's assistant explained the stages and grades to me. There are 4 stages and I believe 3 grades but try not to stress yourself out about stages and grades because this forum has a lot of women on it who have healed and survived very well with higher grades and stages.

Thanks a lot edwards750, much appreciated.

I have scheduled an appointment at breast clinic for this Thursday for the result of my pathology test after mastectomy.

Hopefully I will gather more information that time as well as from websites.

Prasanna13, I think there are 4 official stages. Although there might be a 0 stage as well. Stage one is the lowest and stage for is highest. A positive, strong, attitude goes miles. I am a stage IIIB and went through the first stage of diep recon. Now, tomorrow, I have another lump to be biopsied. God Bless, Robin
